  1. Lets look at the positives.. Good point away from home at a ground where we seemed to have struggled. We are saving a fortune at the moment. No win or goal bonuses leaving SC's back pocket.
  2. No I don't, but I'm sure someone on this board must have an idea. Probably a no go, but just wondered if it was worth a look.
  3. Has this ever been looked into do you know?
  4. Moving there would make Boundary Park feel tropical. I've played Cricket there in the middle of summer where games have been called off due to frost and snow!!!
  5. To reiterate for a second time, I have not said get rid or he isn't a good player. I stand by he isn't the answer to our forward line at the minute. Especially to lead the line in a tough away game after a big defeat when confidence will be low.
  6. None from memory. Maybe proof that he's not good enough to start, or do you know better than the gaffer?
  7. With a combined total of ZERO goals in the league this season.
  8. Just to clear up my original post, I didn't say Brooke wasn't good enough, I just said he wasn't ready to lead a league one attack.
  9. Pre season means nothing. It's about getting fit and no one makes a challenge.
  10. Have we signed a new player called Brooke? The one we currently have is nowhere near ready to lead a league one teams attack.
  11. I think people forget about the number of football league teams who are within 20 miles of Oldham. There are 10 teams within 20 miles which includes one of the biggest teams in the World, the richest team in the World and Bolton. Plus teams like Liverpool, Everton, Blackburn and Wigan are all within 40 miles. I sit next to a Southend fan at work. There nearest rival is Gillingham who are 12 miles away and there is no other team within 20 miles. They are League 2 and average a lot more than we do. I imagine it's the same for Swindon and Brighton. http://www.footballgroundmap.com/grounds/nearest
  12. Seem to be conceding from a lot of set pieces lately.
  13. This wins my vote for worst post of the week. Mods can we have a poll?
  14. For me the question isn't really appropriate... In answer to the question should United and City fans come and watch Latics, I'd say "No", why should they, they support a different team. If United or City were at home and someone offered me a ticket for £20 i'd say no chance. If the question was "How would you feel if you saw a United or City fan at Latics?" I'd say the more the merrier. I might be concerned they were insane for spending £20 for watching a team they don't support, but providing they were paying for a ticket i'm all for it.
  15. Oldham fans won't pay £20 to watch us, so why would fans of another club?
  16. It's a cricket club nickname. So popular that when batting once the lad who was scoring had to shout to the middle for my real name as in 2 years he'd only ever called me slash. The origin was our kid dancing on a table somewhere chatting up a girl who was the proper slash's double. Exciting story over. In summary, I'll stick with Paul
  17. Really looking forward to the Charlton game. Will be nice to put a face to a few names. If I can get a pass out, I'd be up for a pre-season booze.
  18. I have been to The Tommyfield this evening for a bite after work. The food was really good. It's about £10-12 for a meal and the portions were pretty large. Plenty of ale's and beers on tap. Also a vast improvement inside compared to it used to be laid out when it was The White Hart.
  19. I live in the hole!!! I've walked passed it, but not been in. I will give it a try next weekend.
  20. Please don't tell me you're living in the Kennington Park Estate??????????? No i'm not. Just next to that. I start my new job on 2nd August, so will be down the weekend before. I'm looking forward to the initiation test at Charlton.
  21. Thanks fellas, I'm living in Oval, just next to the cricket ground.
  22. Hopefully having Ackey as one of my best mates might mean I don't get told off for posting this in the wrong place. Especially after the number of assists I provided him with a 5-a-side last night. After 20 years of being a season ticket holder, I’m upping sticks and moving to the big smoke. I have not renewed my season ticket, but would hope to get to a fair few games throughout the season. Just wondering if there are many Latics fans in the area who travel to Boundary Park, and if so see if it is possible to arrange sharing travel costs etc....
