  1. At least all those who chant his name when he misses a sitter/miss controls/miss places a pass/ falls over or dives will hopefully pass on their encouragement to someone else. Maybe Eardley would be a good option, he gets slagged off for mistakes whereas Hughes gets his name chanted.
  2. I like your positive attitude, but our current form is dire. Can you really see this side winning 6-7 of our remaining games? On current form i'd be impressed with 2.
  3. I'd imagine all my mates will be sat in the pub at 3pm on saturday afternoon looking forward to watching the Fulham v Scum game on Norwegian television. Unfortunately the inhabitants of Failsworth haven't caught on to the fact that it is part of Oldham and are happy watching a winning side on TV and never attending live football games. THERE LOSS!!!!
  4. My dad went for Colin Bell as his favourite. But said George Best was (avoiding the pun) the best he's seen. He must have been bloody good as my dad's been a season ticket holder at City for 50 years and hates United more than anyone!!!
  5. Does anyone know any part timers who are coming for this one. I reckon i'll be there with the same people I went to the Colchester game with. So hope others know of some extras coming along!!
  6. Gerrard Halle Redmond Jobson Pointon Bernard Henry Milligan Holden Olney Ritchie
  7. We are now approaching our correct league position. Of the 20 odd games i've seen this season we've looked a top 6 team in about 5 of them. Stockport - home Scunthorpe - home Leicester - home Hereford - home (does that count?) Cheltenham - home (does that count?) Millwall for 20 mins at home and MK Dons at home in patches. Didn't go to Leeds or Millwall so can't include those.
  8. I wonder if Seb Hines will play on Saturday.
  9. What do you win if you guessed right?
  10. See Leeds are seeing off one of the so called poorer teams pretty easily. If only we could!!!
  11. My first ever away game was Wolves 90/91 season as well. Remember a couple of years later seeing Sean McCarthy score a hat trick at Notts County and thought he looked top class!!! Best recent game - Everton in the cup Favourite game - Final game of the season v Sheff Wednesday 91 (probably the only time i'll ever see Latics get promoted)!!!! Although as a 7 year old at the time, it was quite scary seeing all those Wednesday fans in the chaddy end.
  12. How can you slag a player off when you haven't been to the game. Lidds put in some quality crosses today just no one in a blue shirt could get on the end of them. On another day he may have had 3 assists. Would that be good enough for you, or would he still be rubbish?
  13. Just looked at the attendance from last years game and compared it to tonights. Last year the attendance v Leeds was 10054 Tonight it was 7835 Therefore 2219 fewer. If we use an average ticket price of £15 that is a shortfall of over £30k. Did the club reveal what the sky money is worth?

    MOTM Vs. Leeds

I seem to find I vote for Gregan after every game. I struggle to find many games where he's not a contender.
  15. One point gained tonight rather than two points dropped. Thought we were pretty poor. Maybe it's two games in three games!!!
  16. Yes can I have one as well please. In my match report after the Yeovil game I called Hines awful and was told it was a laughable comment to make after he'd only made two appearences!!! It's quality not quantity!!! He doesn't have the first, hopefully he wont get the chance for the second.
  17. I was actually joking about Hines being Clegg standard!! But that did make me think why if someone isn't good enough should they get a run to prove themselves. Imagine where we'd be now had Phil Starbuck played 200 games for the club. I know in the past we've been too quick to judge people who've gone on to better things. The goalie Westwood is one from recent years.
  18. I think i'd prefer Michael Clegg over Hines!!!!
  19. My problem with Hines was the amount of time he wants on the ball. In the long run he might have a more successful career than Eardley, but at League 1 standard where you don't get time on the ball I would much rather Eardley start than Hines. Eardley's played 100 games at this level, Hines has played 2. With us being at the business end of the season i don't think we have the luxury of giving him 5-6 games to get a feel for the division and our tactics when we have someone sat on the bench who does.
  20. My girlfriends mum and dad live 20 miles away from Yeovil, so i'm down for the weekend. I'm working on owning a helicopter one day!!!

    MOTM Vs. Yeovil

Skipper just edged out Smalley. Although there wasn't much competition.
  22. Pretty poor performance. Pitch wasn't great, cut up quite a bit. Plus it was pretty windy. Smalley took his goal very well. Awful defending for their first goal. Silly free kick given away by Taylor and then their man had a free header 6 yards out. Nothing Flem could do. Second goal was awful. Imagine Millwall at home first game!!! Fleming appeared to shout for Rubes to leave it, but rubes knocked it passed him for their man to knock it in to an open goal. Our second was lucky. Long ball from the back Terrible Forbes tried to head it back to the goalie but got too much on it. Cracking finish!!! Plus points.... Smalley looked good in patches and finished his chance well. Should have had a second though which he smashed on to the bar. Maher looked strong in midfield Negatives.... Windass old, slow, not interested. Hines - Awful. If I were Eardley or Lomax I'd be asking Shez all the way back how he gets in the starting XI over them. Hughes - tried for about 10 mins Taylor not in the game again!!! No striker on the bench Overall. Point a fair result.
  23. Lets hope Bell is this seasons Trotman. Although I can't imagine he will be.
  24. So come on where are all the people who slag him off week in week out?
  25. I wish he did keep picking his favourites, at least then Liddell would be in the side. I struggle to see what many on here see in Smalley. He never looks up and never has the ball under control, plus he makes Chris Taylor look like Vinny Jones when it comes to tackling. If we'd have got a pen today we wouldn't have scored!!!!
