People quickly forgot that it was him and Croft who stopped us being relegated to the bottom division in his first spell.

Agree with your point. Had my dad seen O'Grady play today we'd probably had won 4-1 with him bagging a hat trick!!! Oh wait, he's only scored one goal all season. I also said he knew it was a meaningless game so it was hard to judge. Just thought it would be interesting to give another persons opinion.

Yeah I thought it was good to hear after people writing on here about this squad should have been good enough to challenge this year. Unfortunately our blue tinted glasses sometimes get in the way of actually realising we are a very average team, with very average players.

Normally go to the game with my brother but he booked a long weekend away as he wasn't that bothered about missing today. My dad had his season ticket and thought we looked a very poor side (and that's saying something as he's a city fan). He said it's obviously hard to judge on only seeing one performance in a game which meant little to Latics but the only players he thought looked capable of playing at a higher level were Eardley and Taylor. He also said we must have the smallest side in the country.

They've won 5 more games than us, so I reckon that might have something to do with it.

I don't expect a Maradonna, I just think he is no better than he was two years ago. Yes this is league 1 and he doesn't even look good at this level. He's not as good as Tipton was at the same age and look at what bigger and better things he want on to achive. I hope he proves me wrong as I don't have anything against the lad, he always gives 100%.

When I was at Uni in Sheffield for mid week games Sheff U used to promote £5 entry or £7.50 for entry + a pie + a pint. With not getting to many Latics games at the time the second option meant I went to nearly every Sheff U midweek game for three years. Lots of people took up the offer. Even though no one supported them. Not sure if it would at Latics as Bramall Lane's right in the heart of the student area, so it was only a 5 minute walk for me. Can't see people travelling from Salford or Manchester for League 1 football. Maybe worth trying outside sixth form college???
