  1. The statement is really bad and will piss people off if any of them do get new deals because then the statement contradicts itself. If there is no further updates and as the statement reads everyone has been released then I don’t see any issue with it.
  2. Article isn’t particularly clear is it? I’m happy if all have been released. There were arguments for Fondop and Gardner, but i’d have still released them.
  3. I cannot believe he is only 34, he’s been around for what seems like at least 20 years. I remember that he wasn’t a fan favourite here, but he had a long spell at Port Vale (probably where the Conlon connection comes from) and Southend and has had a decent League 1/2 career. Tend to agree that i’d like to see us reduce the age of the squad somewhat though, but it does seem like MM prefers experienced players with pedigree of playing higher.
  4. Gateshead and Halifax have to play their games away though, so must be longer term issues such as their grounds not being up to EFL standards etc, which I can’t see. There are some awful stadiums in the EFL too.
  5. We really do need to hear from the club in the coming weeks about the direction of the club in the short term (1 year). MM said we’re already over budget for next season, or did I miss hear that? Even after we’ll release 9 players or so? If that is the case, or even nearly the case then heads need to roll and difficult questions need to be asked immediately. Wtf am I buying a season ticket again for if we’re basically already being told it’ll be the same group of players who have failed this season, and therefore the same shit boring tactics. We’ll be back to 3000-3500 crowds again in no time at this rate. They announced 6000+ today, but there were way less than 5000 who actually turned up.
  6. We used to complain about unprofessionalism when we banished unwanted 1st team squad members to train with the kids under AL…..
  7. I’m far from MM out, but I do find it puzzling when he says things like we’ve played a lot of top teams recently, which we haven’t. Other than Chesterfield, who haven’t beaten us this season, and are on the beach for the last month this league is absolute dross in every aspect.
  8. Yes, I recall seeing it being installed at Birmingham’s St Andrews as part of their redevelopment.
  9. There are lots of clubs who are transitioning back to safe standing, which you can often see watching match highlights, with the barriers they use etc. I’d say it’s not common at our level or in the lower leagues of EFL though, as presumably it’s rather expensive.
  10. Will purchase 2 as always on payday. Brother doing the same. I leave BP pissed off at 5pm most Saturday’s but there’s still nowhere else i’d rather be.
  11. I’ve gone release all. We need as much space in the wage structure as possible. Hopefully shift another 5-6 on too, but would imagine we’d have to contribute to their wages for the next year or 2.
  12. Exactly. Game needs to be Thursday next week, no ifs or buts. It’s not up to us in anyway to find alternative arrangements. We may well have objected, but what else can they do? MM was complaining about the situation in his pre-match presser for yesterday, so i’m pretty sure we’ve expressed our dissatisfaction with the situation. What next shall we complain about and blame the club for? I think it’s a disgrace we are having to play at 12:15 on Saturday to be honest, and it’s the clubs fault we are having to play our 3rd consecutive Saturday home game at dinner time! MM out!
  13. Both clubs? I get the criticism for Latics for many things, but this is nothing to do with us!
  14. Maybe we didn’t agree to it. If there is no agreement the NL would have to intervene and make a decision as the game needed playing this week at some point.
  15. Just imagine 3 more years of this dross? We’ll be down to Rochdale type attendances.
  16. I agree about something not being right, but completely disagree that Willoughby/Tollitt would have been better out there. They’ll both be playing league below us next season (rumoured that Willoughby is going back to Chester), which is their level for me.
  17. It’s still highly unlikely, but we could do with Southend going up if they sneak those play offs, which would be remarkable in itself. I’d fancy them next season if they stay down and their takeover finally gets done. A few clubs could look at Maher though, as he’s done a phenomenal job.
  18. Exactly this, you could see at the fans forum when he first arrived and was being questioned about the squad and recruitment that he was being diplomatic and holding back what he really thinks as he’s needed them for a large portion of the season still. What he has to do now is release every single player out of contract, to free up wages. I’ll have much less sympathy for him if we offer deals to the likes of McGahey, Green and Gardner etc.
  19. Oh come on…. Willoughby and Tollitt are crap, of course it’s due to the level they’re playing at, in that they’ve found their level. Tollitt couldn’t make Kidderminster's squad most weeks and Willoughby has never performed higher than the league below either. We are a problem, but our problem is signing shit players who are still here and shit players like Tollitt and Willoughby to begin with.
  20. No, first one is midweek after the season finishes on 20th, then the 27th and then final the week after.
  21. Our pitch cost a million quid of taxpayers money though. Getting it in there before Sinnott gets in there.
  22. Rumours Doncaster at 3pm behind closed doors. Piss take if true.
  23. I see a lot of folk talk about MM’s signings, but let’s not forget January is a notoriously harder transfer window, with clubs unwilling to offload the players in their plans unless of course your throwing cash around, which we didn’t. He’s made 3 permanent signings, one of them a low risk one in Hammond who will be on peanuts. Garner did well originally and I still think he’s a good squad member for next season. Conlon has been a disappointment, but we were all buzzing when we signed him, and he’s played EFL his entire career so there must be a player there somewhere. I don’t massively judge a manager on loan signings, especially kids as they are all a risk in terms of if they can step up to mens football, and no one knows until they actually play. Some work and some don’t, we move on quickly from Loans. We’d be crazy to get rid of him at this stage when he hasn’t had any time to assemble a squad and deliver a pre-season. If we start badly again, like we did this season, then he’ll be under pressure quickly, as was DU, but we have to let him get on with the summer plans now.
