I honestly agree with Joe's old adage - you can't have enough strikers.

Norwood could be the difference between playoffs and automatic!
If so we need to use at least 2 to start and none of the lone striker from last season.

Think we’re going to just get by because we’re now so well resourced but I’d surmise 20 of the managers in this league would do better with the resources Unsworth has at his disposal.
Lundstram is the type of player who can be down in his own corner flag and then in the blink of an eye be in the opposition box. He’s better in a 2 and would work great with a Gardner from the Byrne/Fane days but not the one of today.
Sheron has proved he isn’t good enough for a side with promotion aspirations and Shelton was having to play right back for Hartlepool as he couldn’t shift Mo Sylla from Hartlepools midfield.
The only explanation for not having a right back signed is that he is waiting for the football league transfer window to close so he can take someone who is out of favour.
Unsworth would be screwed without money and shown up for the fraud he is
Whilst I share to a large extent your opinion I will give the manager until the end of October to prove he can give us a chance of promotion with his team.

And what game is that?
I gave him the benefit of the doubt last season because he came into a poor side with poor players seemingly bereft of any sort of game plan.
However, apart from an excellent goal at Notts County I can’t really remember anything else of note.
His 1st touch is poor, he doesn’t hold it very well, and he doesn’t create very much.
We apparently paid 6 figures for his services and I’m expecting a massive improvement in his game, however, listening to the comments regarding these friendlies it seems to be ‘as you were’ with him.
I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve seen him myself but the signs are not good!
I'm no great fan of Nuttall if you look back on my posts and support in other fans criticism of him.All I'm saying is that he must improve and get sharper and fitter and him and Hope can both improve and help in what is an abundance of strikers for Unsworth to choose from over the entirety of the season.

We need Nuttall as cover for any strikers getting injured or sent off.Its up to him to get his game back.

I first started watching Latics in the tangerine kit, for that reason I absolutely love it.
Me too and still got my scarf.

Serious question, what do think time brings to the table, I get it it's a new bunch but the culture remains the same, round pegs- square holes, defensive out of possession football, encouraging teams on to us with no obvious plan to turn us in to an attacking threat.
I'm not worried, we will be just fine but we will be so easy to play against again because we can't put a team out capable of dominating possession.
Agreed but these players needs bit of time time to gel but with this squad I see no reason why we should not be in the top 7 from day one.

Scunthorpe's situation very similar to us under the Lemmies.
They've made a raft of signings that should mean they piss the NLN...
But there's a big argument ongoing with threats of legal action over who owns the ground with new owner locking the old owner out, but old owner claiming it's his and threatening to evict the club...
I always knew there was a c**t in Scunthorpe

Pretty confident Green has/ will sign. He’s posting on his socials pictures of him in a Latics shirt with a banner saying he can’t wait to be back at it, and he spends a lot of time with Fondop and Nuttall. I’m reading in to it that he’ll be back for the season.
I think Green knows best to sign along with the rest.
Our fans ground improvements and superb away followings stand out to players.Still some deadwood to shift but getting there.Unsworth must now continue with his post Christmas improvement.

Well you got Kurt in the end, pleased he saw the season out with us. I am not sure you saw the best of him against you in the FA Cup but one thing is for sure he will put everything in to every minute that he is on the pitch for you.
Really hope he is successful, a proper team player
Hope we give the player enough match games to prove himself.Looking good with my favourite Reid,Fondy and Nuttall. Still need a rfb,ch and left winger.Get Green signed and practise on crosses and we will be a force to beat.

Lovely to see these ground improvements and posh new seats ..Looking good for next season's attempt for promotion.

“Always enjoyed a drink” shorthand for complete pisscan.I tried an understatement. Lol.
I'll never forget waiting at Bournemouth Station while he went for a box of beers and trying to stop the guard from the last train back leaving.
Thankfully he nade it by a second.
Also back late at Piccadlly talking the police out of arresting him!!!!

Chris Taylor retires at the age of 36.
I'll never forget his celebration at Carlisle by jumping into the away end and being mobbed.
Also his dad Dave who used to go to away games on the trains with us and always enjoyed a drink.!!

Such a good day. Salford are another obnoxious plastic club, and, well, Hughes...I mean, what can I say....
Good luck to County. I used to like Friday night games at Edgeley Park.
Yes
Chuffed for two old rivals Jim and Sean.
Hopefully our paths will cross again in the Armoury

If style is just boring v’s entertainment then I agree, but it’s more than that.
It’s a mentality shift from must not to lose to trying to win the game from the off.
The siege mentality of having to grind out results has been a perfect foil for Unsworth’s football this season.
It’s will need a very different mentality when the onus is us to win the vast majority games next season.
Promotions aren’t won by trying not to lose first.
Bang on the nail.

I can count on one finger the number of games I enjoyed last season, if you think scraping home against some of the worst teams in the division and being outplayed by them is progress you crack on and live it up.
I am with you on the number of games I saw which was almost all of them. But I have given credit to Unsworth for the win ratio this year.
I agree with those who say they'd take a win no matter how dire and it is a results game.
I was not happy with Unsworth before since he was clueless and always blaming someone or something else and I found that to be arrogant and why I called him El Supremo after a film with Gregory Peck called Hornblower
Credit where credit is due though bar a couple of games like Wrexham and Altrincham he has turned us into a battling team who play for each other .
I'm looking forward to us being one of the top sides next season after some quality signings.

Have you tried the uphill walks to Buxton and Colwyn Bay's grounds?
No but Torquay wasn't a easy walk for me on my crutch nor Aldershot through some woods and right round to the away end

Must admit I wanted Kidderminster to win for the same reason, decent away end fits about 1500 plus seats at the side, ideal for 1st away game of the season.
Only downside for me is the long uphill walk to their ground

0-2 for Kiderminster.
I don't usually like goal celebrations, but Hennings' made me laugh.
Kidderminster has a really good ground and social club and amenities. Looking forward to Oxford which is another new one to add to my list.

Once again...massive thanks to Frank Rothwell for his help and support.
We must have the best set of strikers and a team with lots of talented players..It will still be a tough season but there is definitely a buzz about the place and confidence in getting promotion.
No excuses now for anything less than a play off spot.
