Joe Royle tells a different story and where one of you has shown an ability to read players, you are both exhibiting a clear lack of ability to read words or listen to people. a very important person in our history nonetheless.
being old and claiming not to remember something is rather stupid tactic when you have form for getting upset if people accuse you of being old and forgetting things.
flemboy youre proven for attempting to bully and isolate visitors because you don't like how they look, l suggest you work on improving your own reputation and desist 'looking for likes' from people who actually seem to be decent respectful humans. especially when you have openly shown an interest in such pathetic endevours by questioning the 'like ratio' of others. whatever that is!!
That comment about Hiccup was meant in a light hearted way and on their own forum treated that way.He is a proper fan and follows the Shots all over the place..I will apologise to him personally when I see him at Aldershot .

Even in big Joe's early days positive attacking football was always played, mostly with 2 wingers crossing the ball and an advanced central midfielder, the difference is it isn't now.
I don't remember at any time the crowd calling for his dismissal.
Never .You are right BP.

Yet we missed them. Now, if only the wise one would have started with Norwood……I would have pre match wanted Reid and Norwood up front in attack and Green and Tollitt on the wings putting crosses in

Unsworth should be clearing his desk out right now.
He should be but he won't.At least Shez did the decent thing.
I noticed in the family stand loads on their mobiles which sums up the entertainment value they were getting.

That table is embarrassing to look at, there can be no justification other than blind faith, felt sorry for big Joe at full time, normally one of the warmest smiles in football he looked totally dejected.
Do the right thing Unsworth and resign.
At least Shez left out of respect to our fans and club he loves

Unsworth back to his tricks of telling fans to fuck off again. He really isn’t liked here at all is he?
Most have smelt the coffee by now apart from those with a cold.

Anyone of us could have achieved what Unsworth has this season. In fact I think most of us would have achieved more
Sadly he is being paid a wage for doing nothing.Crowds dropping and still no signs of improvement.Got to Go.
That's where I am.
How much more can we take of post match excuses. We have the players but we need a manager who can instill confidence and get the best out of this team. Most managers would be envious of our squad.

Mods, please feel free to merge if/when @Bender does his usual pre match post.
Given Unsworth's comments about the fixture schedule, I expect us to make a number of changes today. All 5 subs from Saturday could feasibly play, as well as Tollitt. All of them should be more than capable of handling themselves.
I watched Solihull on Friday. They can easily be got at, the pace of Reid should worry them. We are due a win, they are due a defeat. Oldham victory...
I'd like Reid to be given a few games with his pace.

Regardless of how I feel about him this must worry the owners as they are appearing to do everything they can to engage with the fanbase and get everybody onboard, he does split opinion and nothing but decent results now will do, I think he needs a win tomorrow and a better showing at Gateshead next week to keep the wolves from the door.
Same for me.Ithink and hope we will win Monday but would like Reid to start for a change.

Lots of winnable ganes that even Unsworth can get points from.

Agree but replace him with Reid and put Gardiner on for Shelton
With the players Frank has paid for most managers would select teams to get us in the play offs .

That was absolute dross again.... and even the "give Unsworth more time" brigade must be getting tired with the clear lack of intent he seems to instill in the side.
I've been to all 3 away games this season and with Norwood, Nuttall, Fondop, Reid and Kurt we have scored 1 lucky 96th minute goal.
Today bar the first 5 minutes the team looked like they had absolutely no belief they could win the game against a very average Boreham Wood side who were happy with a 0-0..
Players were in each others way, movement and communication in the final 3rd was non existent, and any sort of plan appart from boot it from the back in the hope it would drop to Norwood was missing.
I'm not sure what Reid has done wrong to upset Rhino but fuck me we needed some pace and width, and Reid could have at least given us that.
Sorry but Unsworth is never gonna convince me hes the right man for the job as he can't see what we see it appears.
Boreham Wood should have beaten us today with the chances they had which is a disgrace.
Nothing less than 3 points on Monday is acceptable and anyone who thinks anything different is clearly missing a screw.
Bang on Londonboy. He must give Reid a try with his pace and not give Nuttall a start all the time.We had chances today but so did they and they should have won.A point against one of a number of our boggie teams is OK but our fans need to see better fayre for their money .Can only hope we play a far more attacking style on Monday against another boggle team doing well.

Bloody hell,
Don't wish that on me
Three score and ten plus every day after as a bonus from our lord will do me just fine and hopefully League one or above before I finally meet him.
I've just donated to Frank's wonderful charity and hope he raises a lot. What a truly nice person. He puts so much money time and effort into our club. My utmost respect to him and his family.I am envious of his rowing across the Atlantic I doubt I could row across Alexander Park Lake.

I've listened to Unsworth's interview with the club again and tbf to him, he's right in what he is saying about it almost being the perfect away performance for the first 45 mins, if Norwood takes the chance. He rightly praises the players if they have carried out his game plan, which did look pretty disciplined in getting a back 4 and 5 across the middle behind the ball everytime Chesterfield had it. If he felt it was the best way to get a result, then that's fair enough and it did nearly work, however, my 2 issues with it are: 1. He is more than likely to set up in a similar fashion at most other away games when we really should be taking the game to the opposition with the attacking players we've recruited. 2. It's his lack of a plan B. Ok, so you are sitting in, hoping to hit them on the counter but once you go 1-0 down, surely you have to show some intent to change it and get on the front foot in an attempt to get something from the game. He didn't do that, nor do I think he knows how to do it, the fact is we got very lucky to grab the draw at the end and was nothing to do with the manager changing his tactics.
Same for me.With the backing and funds Frank has given him we should be in the top 5 all season. On Sat he again got a get out of jail card handed to him at Chesterfield. I will still give him until October when the injured players are back albeit two of them never missed a game all last season.

Sod all, apart from the sitter Grigg missed to make it 2-0 and game over.
We were very very poor today and got out of jail - not that a draw against a fairly average Chesterfield team is anything to get excited about. I was ashamed of our performance today and ashamed of the halfwits who invaded the pitch.
I feel it may not have got as bad if Norwood had simply celebrated with us rather than go over to their fans like Clarke did a few years ago.

But he’s a good brain dead twat!!
Lol.
He reminds me of a young Robert Shaw.
We need Norwood as the fox in the box we have been looking for ages. I'd play Reid with him and have Fondup and Nuttall subs.
When our injuries in midfield are sorted I can see us climbing to the top 3.
-
Overall a well deserved point but so nearly a loss again.
Just glad we have Norwood in our team.Looked more like scoring after Nuttall went off.Wish Reid could get a game start instead.
Great away support but the invasion will have consequences and I feel for Frank Rothwell .

Just listened to D.U.
He doesn't live in my world.Tonight we were shite. He says we created loads of chances. Well I didn't see them.
We had no midfield again. Yes we have injuries so why not just admit it.
First half we were crap so why not try something different and bring on fresh players. He always waits till we go behind. Why can't He ever do something positive. This man is clueless and has to go.
I agree 100%.
Is that a bullet proof vest he always wears lol.
Really I hope he proves me and others wrong especially with the top players he has thanks to Frank
All I want as we all do is success for our team supported home and away for over 55 years with full programmes to prove it .

This will be a true test of Unsworths tactics.
Having said that if we have the same luck we had the last time we will win,!!!.Hopefully we do

What was it about this 442 with 4 defenders, 4 midfielders and 2 strikers that made it the wrong 442
Nothing wrong with 442 but the point I'm making is that the 4 in midfield were soon sort out by the opposition and should have been changed by Unsworth. They were out played and Unsworth should have have made changes .No service at all to our strikers and dropped back for their first which was just waiting to be taken advantage off.

There was a lot of disgruntled fans including me at the way Jimmy Frizzell had been shabbily treated but I can't recall any of the crowd chanting to get Royle out as they are now with Unsworth. If I'm wrong fair enough but that is my recollection. We played attacking football even though results were poor but you could see the effort was there to improve on
