Matt can the account ending 2768 that I've used for the prediction league be used to donate?
Not keen on PayPal.
I#m sorry, I don't run the account on the Prediction League, perhaphs @Stevie_J@Bristolaticor @oafcmetty might be of help with that as it is kind of separate from the funds we use for the board.
Thanks for the offer, it's most appreciated. I'll see if I can add in a direct payment thing to our donations set up - I'll add it to my to-do list!

UPDATED (07th July 2021)
We have set up new options for those of you who would like to help out with the running and maintaining of the forum:
Just a little note to say thanks to you we're still here. We do have to include a small amount of unintrusive ads about the website and we do not nag ad-blockers, but unfortunately this doesn't always cover the monthly costs of maintaining the websites packages - so any other donations are most welcome. Your donation will help fund and support the running of the messageboard, keeping it up-to-date and accessible to all.
Thanks for your support.
We have set up the service through the website directly >> HERE << or through the DONATIONS tab in the STORE section in the menu bar underneath our banner on each page.
Alternatively there is the SUBSCRIPTION option >> HERE << or again through the SUBSCRIPTION tab in the STORE, at the moment there is only two tiers - I'm hoping to have the inspiration to add other bonuses and tiers that offer something different to the members...
New Paypal link for one-off payments is >> HERE <<
For those savvy about these things, we have a Paypal QR Code too.
...and of course there are items in the shop (well, there will be when I get around to it) that allow members to get something tangiable, with all proceeds going to the forum.
Thanks again - good health to you all,
OWTB Team.

Sometimes site updates (things to keep the underlying tech updated and secure) remove things like that by mistake. Other times it's just that the vendor (Invision) remove features and we're subjected to that without much say in the matter.
@Matt is most likely to know... Matt?
I'll have a look it'll be an option that will need switching back on, I did an update over the weekend.

This a quick note to say that all last months subs (thanks) didn't get paid into the OWTB Keep The Lights On fund.
We've hit a bit of a snag with the PayPal account and I'm in the process of setting up a new one, more info as and when I get it.
Thanks again,
Matt.

I want the club to be well run and competing at a level I feel we should be which is at least in the top half of league 1. If an owner came in with decent intentions and put a decent budget together...
I think I'm just really pessimistic about corporate or consortia ownership and assets being passed from one non-fan to another. Be careful what you wish for.

I agree but we are talking about running costs of approx. £1.5 million per year. 2500 fans donating £600 per year every year on top of buying season tickets, merchandise etc. for me makes it a non-starter
Of course, I don't think we should be discussing a team operating above National level without a reasonably well-heeled benefactor. It's a choice, do you want to have a say in what happens to your club, or do you want to allow other people who aren't Latics fans to buy and sell bits of the club around you?

Absolutely. This fantasy that a fan based group can fund the purchase and running of the club is ludicrous. Not to mention that the fans shouldn't be buying something so vastly overpriced in the first place.
Perhaps not at L2 or above. I guess it could be purchased as a Community Benefit Society through grants and community share schemes, then the running of the club would then be managed by the fans - it would up to them to set the playing budget for the coaching team. You'd be amazed how the fans would really appreciate every pound being saved or spent by the club.

Just a little note to say thanks for the ongoing support, we do try to keep this place going with the least intrusive ads - however the internet is run on ads, and even though we understand adblockers enhance the visual experience it doesn't help us much unfortunately.
If you can donate, please do - if not, no problem - you are more than welcome to stay and be part of the community.
All the best for 2021, and good health to you all.
