  1. I'm sure I can't be the only one to have spotted this but Robbie's Twitter page has a message from Chris Birchall (he of Port Vale / Trinidad & Tobago fame etc) hinting that he is coming to train with us 'for a few days'. I'm not reading anything into this. He is probably just back over from LA for Christmas and wants to keep himself fit. But... 1 The next MLS season starts in March 2012 2 We have a lot of games now in January and February 3 We could maybe do with a bit of extra experience in midfield to cover injuries/suspensions etc Worth a possible loan enquiry?
  2. Some random bloke tweeted him last night saying: "Good luck at Oldham if the rumours are true?" Robbie replied "yes mate". Not conclusive but not far off.
  3. Sorry to be pedantic but isn't he Tom Clarke's brother? He's not related to that big lump Peter Clarke. I don't think. Good signing though
  4. I just spotted that he tweeted this: jeffers92: Off to cinema and might attack a nandos half chicken afterwards! #shock Let's get him!
  5. Seeing as we seem to have hit a bit of a wall with regards to getting a new striker in, is it worth making a cheeky enquiry to Leicester with regards to getting that young Jeffrey Schlupp character in on loan? Apologies if he has already been suggested on here. I don't know much about him but I was thinking this... Good things: - He scored a couple last season on loan at Brentford - He scored a hat-trick t'other day in the Carling Cup so he obviously has his shooting boots on this season too - There is the obvious Leicester connections. I think he may have been twittering or tweetering (or whatever) with Jim Wes and Alex Cizak in the last couple of weeks - He's got pace - He's got a great name Possible bad things: - I read somewhere that Sven hasn't decided yet whether to let him go out on loan this season or not, although they are still making bids for other strikers (e.g. that idiot Beckford)and if Leicester carry on with the way they are going, results wise, Sven himself may be off soon anyway. - He/they could probably get better offers elsewhere. Brentford (where he was last season) have already demonstrated that they can outbid us by signing Mr Donaldduckson (who allegedly 'pimped' himself out to every club in the football pyramid before accepting the biggest offer he could get) - He may want a Championship club if he does go out on loan - He is just a kid Just a suggestion.
  6. I had a quick look on the evil red empire's propaganda website, for information on this young keeper, and noticed that Oliver Norwood scored for their reserves last night. I'm sure he's been mentioned on here before. I saw him play for Norn Ireland in a game on telly a few weeks ago (when Winchester made his debut) and he looked pretty useful in midfield. I don't think I've seen any stories linking him with loan/permanent moves anywhere yet for this coming season. I know he played a few games on loan for Carlisle last year. We should make an enquiry. He could be a replacement for Stephens.
  7. I'm definitely not him. A couple of weeks ago the 'rarely read' South Manchester Reporter landed on my doorstep. It usually makes it's way very quickly to the recycle bin but for some reason I was drawn to the article on the back page which was bigging this guy up. The next morning I felt compelled to share it with you lot (I'm usually quite shy). It looks like the club may have been tracking him for a while so I don't really want to take any credit for the signing (unless he turns out to be a superstar of course). Laters
  8. Worth looking at? He's a 6'6" goal machine.
