  1. Maybe. What about this guy? http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/20920525
  2. 30-man training squads to be called up for 20th to 22nd and 27th to 30th December with a friendly against Malawi on 22nd. Final 23 man squad to gather on 2nd January with 2 more friendlies against Norway and Algeria. First 30-man squad announced next week.http://www.safa.net/index.php?page=articles&id=1258
  3. I've just been talking to a Donny season ticket holder at work who said that boom boom mcCombe is currently injured. I'm not sure that's true. His replacement, Tommy Spurr, she says, is small, fast, mobile and is playing well. She was complaining that they often get over run in midfield. I told her that wouldn't be a problem as our midfielders seldom cross the half way line and usually only pass sideways or backwards. I hope I'm wrong tonight. She was complaining that Donny were playing rubbish at the moment and are boring to watch, even though they are near the top and won 4-0 at the weekend. Typical negative Yorkshire moaners.
  4. I don't want to sound paranoid but part of me is a little bit worried that Bolton's new manager might try and intice him with an offer. He had him on trial at Palace, over the summer, and I've read various reasons (e.g. fitness, location, non-committal chairman etc). as to why he didn't sign him on at the time. Those obstacles may now be removed with his new club. Hopefully the real reason Freedman didn't sign him was because they didn't get on. Ok, so I am sounding paranoid now. Apologies.
  5. That video's great. On 6:30ish an Arsenal player gets proper taken out, two-footed and everything. He just gets straight back up, the ref gives a free-kick and they just get on with it. That's how it used to be. How times have changed.
  6. http://www.birminghammail.net/birmingham-sport/aston-villa-fc/aston-villa-news/2012/08/30/aston-villa-move-for-midfielder-could-be-put-on-backburner-97319-31727740/
  7. His uncle John Akii-Bua was a legend. There was a great documentary about him on the BBC a couple of years ago.
  8. Playing alongside the one and only Steve Marlet
  9. He played for Stanley's reserves when they duffed us 3-0 in January http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/f93/lancashire-cup-v-oldham-60357-4.html
  10. 'liamwillis01' on twitter. The bloke on the right in the photo (not the one with the huge afro)
  11. There is a young scouse fullback by the name of LIAM WILLIS who has been released by Accrington. Former Wigan youth player. Just a wild guess. Can't find a piccy of him to verify. I've seen a comment somewhere that he is quite tall and can slot in at centre half.
  12. James Tunnicliffe is a local(ish) lad (from Denton) who has impressed me in the past. He has expressed an interest in moving back home but will probably sign for Crewe as he finished last season on loan there and they now have a bob or two to spend.
  13. Is it the Drill Field, northwich Vics old ground? Just going off the green bits and the clue.
  14. I think he's worth having in the squad just for his shear ability to harass and worry defenders
  15. It's an old horse / speedway track that used to be on Ashton Moss just behind where I work. Don't know who played football there though
  16. He'd do for me. We have missed an experienced 'no nonsense' centre half at times this season when Zander's been injured. Tarky, Big Jean and Brown are all good defenders but need an older head with them I reckon. Remember him getting sent off once for emptying Chris Taylor having just come on as a sub. Another player of Irish descent (who also lives locally I think?) is Martin Devaney. He has just been released by Tranmere.
  17. Just spotted that Mr Birchall is now NOT going back to LA. With Wes and Furman struggling with injuries I think he could be a good option for the rest of the season (if we can afford him that is). I guess he may have a number of clubs interested in him though.
  18. I'm chuffed to bits that its a Friday, personally. I've been rehearsing all day how I was going to tell my 4 year old daughter that Daddy wouldn't be attending her birthday party on the Sunday. Now I don't need to. Still a strange decision though. Just hope it doesn't affect the gate too much.
