  1. I know it sounds obvious but if Dr Cool Cash is serious about his claims of taking us to 'the next level' then buying the club and stadium will only be the first stages of his plan. He would have to invest in the facilities (e.g. build the new stand), playing staff (a few new decent players) and non-playing staff (marketing etc). He'd have to factor all that extra dosh into his plans with little hope of getting any immediate returns on his investment. Not sure how much it will all add up to but I imagine its a sum of money that not many folks have lying around in their back pocket. Fingers crossed.
  2. After his goal at our place last season (a gift from our goalie) he whinged on the radio, like a big baby, about Mvoto fouling him throughout the game. Bless him.
  3. He should come along on the next sponsored walk that we do. Would be a doddle for him.
  4. Another big club deep in the brown stuff: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22888346 Although its not a particularly nice thing to think about but are there any players at Hearts that we could possibly pick up on the cheap? Other clubs plundered us in a similar way in 2003. Our manager briefly played for them so he may know some folk there. He also seems to have a liking for Scottish based players.
  5. ugur yildirim? Pretty unusual name (looks like an anagram). Just a random wild stab in the dark.
  6. I got 59:21 which is only the 3rd time I've finished in under an hour in 9 attempts. Well happy with that. Not bad for the fat kid who always finished 2nd from last in school cross country on Oldham Edge. Well done to all who took part especially Ryan and his team.
  7. Point taken. It was probably a daft thing to say. I wouldn't say that Tierney is that much better than Grounds though.
  8. Lee Camp & Simeon Jackson have also been released by Norwich. Experienced goalie and a proper goalscorer (at our level). Guessing their both out of our range though. Have a word please Korey. Also Marc Tierney released but we don't really need a left back at the moment.
  9. If the other signing does turn out to be Kris Scott, then we'll have one with 2 first names and another with loads of surnames. They will have to swap.
  10. Kris Scott? Half English/Half American 18 in a couple of weeks Used to be at BRISTOL CITY academy Scored against Man City youth: http://www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/Stoke-City-Scott-s-wonder-strike-caps-fine-Stoke/story-15969257-detail/story.html#axzz2SmyXEfgw Could be the fella you're referring to.
  11. Absolutely no idea if he is any good or not but I remember this lad's dad and uncle both playing for us in the 90's. Quick quiz question: Who was the last player we had who's dad and uncle had both played for us previously?
  12. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22397584 Flynn moved upstairs. More news expected today. Fair play to him, if true.
  13. Max Pemberton is son of John Pemberton who is originally from Oldham. Currently captain of Sheffield Utd academy. Midfielder. He must know Connor Brown and someone said Jamie Hoyland is mates with LJ?
  14. Unfortunately you may be right and we probably couldn't afford him. Crawley may have offered him reduced terms though, given his age. He was only on the bench when they played us. He's got 2 League One promotions on his CV (and a spell in prison!). Here's an old scouting report from the amazingly trustworthy Steve Claridge which compares him to Paul Scholes! http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2007/may/01/newsstory.scunthorpe
  15. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22371882 This guy must know Cliff Byrne from his time at Scunny. In fact, they were having a good chinwag on the pitch after the final whistle the other week. BBC article says he's 29 where as when they signed him, according to their previous article, he was 31! Awesome.
  16. I'm sure the interview process has been very thorough, however, it would have been nice to have had an appointment a couple of weeks ago before we embarked on our crippling run of 3 league defeats with no goals scored. Can't help thinking that time has been needlessly wasted and now its probably too late.
  17. On Radio 5, the other night, Clem (who is always up Di Canio's arsehole) said that quitting his job is just a ploy to get the fans to beg him to come back. New owners are expected to come in this week (according to Clem) so he is trying to make 'a point'. If that turns out to be true then he's an even bigger prick than I previously thought. Hope it backfires. Although you can't argue with his results, and his side did look half decent when they came to ours just before Christmas, I wouldn't want him in charge of my club.
  18. Good move. I think one of his 3 goals for Crewe was the one when Crossley kicked it up his arse from point blank range and it bounced off him into the net. I could be wrong though.
  19. Is that the fella who Brown had a ding-dong with at Portsmouth?
  20. Maybe he could take the reserves for a couple of games whilst he's here. Would give him some coaching experience and take a bit of pressure off TP etc
  21. I wasn't being serious when I suggested Murray last week! http://www.owtb.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=40655&st=80 Bit of a shock. Good luck Paul, welcome back.
  22. Experienced midfielder available. Any takers? As a short term solution, obviously. http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/21146575
