Leyland what exactly did Ricketts bring to us this season? 2 goals, a neat through ball to Davies and a few fancy flicks showing glimpses of what he can do. Didnt achieve it often enough. Sad we didn't get the best out of him and the circumstances in which he has left whatever they may be. But i'm not bothered he's gone.

I hope Walsall are paying a large Percentage of his wage! Strange Decision relying on unproven youth, and Lee Hughes- hopefully he returns to fitness and finds some form.

OAFCShuck, the performance at Forest last season had been coming for a while, from the start of the season we were playing attractive decent football, creating chances but with no one to put the ball in the net, wasn't Forest Porters first game back? This season we look disjointed, barely thread 3 passes together, and because of the lack of support our midfield offer the strikers we have no or little threat going forward. Say's it all we couldn't break down a very poor Cheltenham side when they had 10 men.

Bloody hell things are bad if we're calling for out of form Gary McDonald to be recalled to the team.

We looked solid in defence against Leeds but going forward we were clueless.. no threat whatsoever, same thing has cost us wins at Cheltenham and Huddersfield.

I only remember 2 chances apart from the goal all game, Hazells header and Kilkennys chance. They on the other hand could of had 3 or 4 if it wasnt for Beresford.

As usual the away support turned up, the team didnt.

Huddersfield like Cheltenham were there for the taking, we lacked the quality going forward to finish them off. Why oh why did we pump hight balls up to Wolfenden? The centre halves had a field day against him, and made Wolfenden look on one of his rare starts.

Sums it up when we need a goal, all we have to bring on is Downing and Crouch. Not good enough. We looked like a underdog in a FA Cup 3rd round tie defending for our lives whilst trying to hold out for a draw/snatch a goal! Bloody pathetic. I dread to think where we'd have ended up without the signing of Carss and Eyres that season. As someone has already said, extend Hazell's deal or it'll mean having Thompson back in defence... much like having Richard Butcher at centre half!!!

Didn't Liddell put Ricketts through at Walsall?

I know I feel afraid to post a comment which isn't in praise of anything to do with Oldham Athletic. I was praising Ricketts after the games against Walsall and Crewe. Tonight he wasn't great.. not helped by crap service, and a strike "partner". Who's never on his wavelength and nowhere to be seen when Ricketts wins his flick ons.

OAFC0000. I dont expect him to chase down lost causes ala Davies/Warne. I do expect him to look interested and a threat to score a goal which is what a striker is there for! Like I said before his cause is not helped by our piss poor service, set pieces, crosses etc.

Offered nothing all night. If he was injured then Shez should have made the change earlier. He does look lazy, but our aimless punts upfield and crap final ball and lack of creativity do him no favours.

That Bradford games was class. Branston was gash. Ronnie brought in a number of the players "not good enough". He also brought in the few that nearly secured us promotion last season, Wellens, Liddell, Porter etc.
