  1. So if you're not negative, you've got your head in the sand? We've just come off the back of two wins on the trot, it's not all doom and gloom.

It is we are all going to die! On a serious note, anyone who thinks we are anything other than a season long relegation battle has their head in the sand! 4 losses (including cup game), against 2 lucky wins! We are doomed I tell ya ;)

  2. May i just point everyone, as passionate as we all are in varying different perspectives, to Blackpool in 06/07.

They didn't win their first 8 or 10 games and finished in the playoffs and were bang in form when playing us - it's a funny old game is football.

Chill your collective fooking beef and calm down.

And yes, relegation wouldn't be ideal, but WERE it to happen what can we as fans do about it aside form not going to games/not buying ST's?

Answer: NOTHING - ALL we can do is stand back and watch, barring a few manager out protesets whihc for the record would get us nowhere.

When all is said and done what will be will be - lets just all support the club come what may, or in Lee's case if you don't want to be part of it, close the door on your way out, it's all we ask.

    KTF

Honestly, in your heart of hearts, do you think there is even the remotest chance of us 'doing a blackpool'?

  3. After skim reading some of this thread I want to give my opinion on a couple of points!

1/ IF we go down, and on present form this seems realistic, we will struggle to ever come back up again. Anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves! Attendances will, believe it or not, drop still further. Consequently, the budget will be cut and the quality of player we are able to sign will drop still further! We MUST stay in this league at all costs untill additional revenue streams kick in! That is the best case scenario, the Championship is just a pipe dream at the moment!

2/ All of this talk about players bedding in being given time to gel I don't neccesarily agree with! Players are playing in their favoured positions, so we are not asking them to be outside their comfort zone! They SHOULD be able to perform from the off! Other teams are doing it so why not us!? The logical conclusion is either the player scan't perform well at this level, or they simply do not have the mental capacity/motivation to do so.

Eitherway, this all very worrying :(

  4. I haven't seen a game pre-season or yesterday. However, if Reid is overweight and unfit what are the club/manager doing to address the issue? Or is he in fact just a big lad suffering from a lack of goals and confidence!? I like I said I don't know I haven't been to any games!?

  5. Well first thing that comes to mind, in this day and age of health and safety, is a false foot is going to cause some serious injuries! On the other hand, in this time of non-discrimination, if a player with a false foot was excluded there would be an uproar! Personally I don't see a problem!

Wasn't there a sprinter with a prosthetic foot who had the ability to run with the able bodied runners but was excluded because it was deemd to give him an unfair advantage! WHat was his name? Having said that, athletics is a non-contact sport so chances of injury by the prosthesis is almost zero.

  6. So, assuming a team was inclined to select them; could a person with a false arm or more pertinently a false foot play Professional football in England?

    Go!

  7. Just watched the question and answer session on LW and have to say I'm once again very impressed with Dickov, no bull:censored: just honest answers to some tricky questions.

He says we will have the necessary squad by the end of the transfer window and we'll be stronger in all departments than we were last season.

He is so confident in front of the media, never gets flustered and is always approachable...what a refreshing change from Dave Penney!!

He is definitely the right man for the job and if we stick with him then together I'm convinced we will have a great chance of bringing championship football back to Boundary Park sooner rather than later!!

If I was a betting man I would say we are more likely to see League two rather than the Championship in the next 5 years!

  8. Thats whats implied, reading between the lines of Latics statement and the council documents.

The Club is now considering ways in which it could finance the construction of

a new stand at the existing ground at Boundary Park which would generate an

income to fund the necessary borrowings and which would secure the long

term future of the Club in Oldham

In my opinion it will take years before all 3 are re-developed. However, patience is a virtue, and no more moving away
