    The real culprit was..... Gardner. Gave the ball away in our break out and then did nowt to get it back, as is his way these days.

    I thought he was rarely in the game, marking space most of the time. When he did get it in open play he gave it away and he really really needs to stop taking dead ball situations. So bad.

    Gardner has to be dropped, played with 10 for large parts of that game. Players can have poor games, but they should never hide.

    did you go last night? he did the exact opposite of hiding, constantly moving and looking to receive the ball and was on the ball a lot until the subs.

    So presumably the three games you have seen him in includes last night and Newcastle last season when he was MOM in both games for me? He played in a pre season friendly this year I think too when he was one of the better players on the pitch. I do agree that he looks a bit lightweight, but that doesn't equal bollocks. David Silva is lightweight, but tough as can be. Opinions.... but people on here are definitely harder on the foreign lads than they are on the likes of Gardner.

    I could have said it for that reason, but actually I wasn't. I have seen him play 4 times. Been good or very good 3 times. People point to the one bad performance that he had last season as being proof he is 'shit'. Gardner has been a bit shit for the last 3 games but gets a free pass #notaforeigner Maouche looks very composed on the ball, rarely if ever gives it away to the opposition and can see a pass. There is definitely something in him.
