  1. Oldham Athletic manager Frankie Bunn doesn't expect Jack Byrne to leave the club before the loan window shuts - potentially paving the way for him to make a return to the side. Byrne hasn't featured for Latics since the first game of pre-season, and last week the club confirmed it was because the midfielder has breached some discipline rules. The 22-year-old has been training with the youth team, and it appeared that Latics would look to move him on before the loan window shuts next week. It now appears that won't be the case, with Bunn revealing that he doesn't expect any players to depart before the loan window shuts. When asked about Byrne's future, Bunn told MEN Sport: "There will probably be none going out. We've had no enquires [on Byrne]. "Ideally I'd like a couple in, whether we get that I don't know, but we are searching." Oldham have made full use of the loan window in recent weeks, bringing in the likes of Sam Surridge, Callum Lang and Daniel Iversen, while Sam Graham also arrived on loan earlier in the summer. Surridge made a good impact, scoring against Macclesfield Town on Saturday, but a hamstring injury then forced him out of the game with Yeovil on Tuesday. It was initially hoped that the striker may return in the game against Morecambe this weekend, but Bunn has now admitted he will again be missing. "Unfortunately it will be another week. It's a bit disappointing because we thought we had him back but then he felt it again prior to the game on Tuesday," he said. "We have to look after his welfare and try not to rush him back. It was a good performance from him against Macclesfield and we were thinking 'right let's kick on,' but then he pulls up with the hamstring injury. "He's disappointed too because he wants to play and score goals and that's what he's come here to do. He was missing for around 10 days with the other hamstring injury he suffered, but this time it's a different area with the soreness. It's not as bad as the first one, but we'll be airing on the side of caution."
  2. written off after one half of football… brilliant. He's better than Coke from what I have seen.
  3. It happened twice in open play. Really dangerous positions that could have easily led to a goal. I'll ignore all of the awful dead balls that also led to breakaways. But you are right, he is doing that Byrne thing of trying to do everything. Its not conducive to a good performance.
  4. I think I'm a bit of a contradiction. You're only an atheist? I'm an anti-theist !! I utterly despise all organised religions. However, on the other matter raised here.... gender politics is horse shit! It is ridiculously divisive, vicious and hypocritical. We are normalising mental illness.... my opinion... not based on some archaic cult (religious) belief, but based on science! Self identifying as any gender (or as I have seen any race!?) you want whenever you want for no particular reason is just ridiculous.
  5. I agree with you. Gardner is the only other midfielder who at present has the ability in him to produce, but he doesn't do it enough and last night his mistakes far outweighed his contribution. I believe he would benefit massively from Baxter being next to him though and will show much more as a result, all is not lost yet. We can have this league.... its mostly shit.
  6. You mean he missed? I said he improved after Baxter came on... but he did have a bad game overall. Yes, Missile contributed as much when he prevented a certain goal after the Hunt mistake. Stopping a goal is as good as scoring one. Anyhow, off you pop to vote for your love in the MOM thread.
  7. Gardner was poor last night. If you think he wasn't its you that knows nothing. Ta love.
  8. Ha, did you watch the match last night. Caught in Possession, wayward passes and shite dead ball delivery. He picked up a bit when Baxter came on but he had a bad game. Missile was the pick of the midfield. I'm hoping Baxter playing a full game can drag those around him up a notch... including Gardner who flatters to deceive a bit for me.
  9. On reflection, I don't see how anyone can make a case for a player other than Clarke, Edmundson or Missile.
  10. Can we stop using that phrase... “fold the club”.
  11. All things considered. I’ll take a point. Neither team deserved to win really. Although perhaps Yeovil deserved to lose for being a soft shower of diving shite.
  12. Bit of a scummy team Yeovil aren’t they...
  13. Miller plus Surridge or Lang next game please.
  14. The point of Roy is to bang on about mic’s, delays and other tech issues. Drives me mad.
  15. Surface pro 4 mate... projecting to my 65 inch OLED. Snob? Me? ?
  16. Ffs Gardner. That’s half a dozen times now. missile playing well.
  17. Everyone playing better. Baxter certainly leads by example and lifts everyone’s confidence.
  18. Post!! so much more pace and clue since Baxter.
