    thanks for looking martin

  2. I thought last season that he had improved his use of the left peg significantly. This put defences under more pressure as they didn't know how to deal with it.

I think a right footed winger who can cut inside or go outside on the left is a major asset.

I'd leave him where he is, but switch him from time to time where a full back has an upper hand on him, or where the opposition left back has the upper hand on whoever plays right.

agree he has improved, but not to the extent were he was setting goals up every week.

went to most home games last season and cant recall many goals he set up with his wing play..

if played down the centre i can see him picking up a lot of free kicks in and around the box in dangerous positions, when running at the slow centre halves

  3. Loving these.

Mrs O4u is in charge of garden, and she refused the Latics one, will be having a word with her later though !!

mr o4u needs to fence of a small section of the garden then and claim his own shrine....

  4. I hope dp has a new role for taylor this season

i just dont see him as a left winger..the amount of times he beat the full back on the outside last season then failed to supply the killer cross with the left foot was annoying more than anything.I think with his lack of confidence regarding his left foot,we saw him cut inside far to much and any poential move evaporated in to nothing..

personally id like to see him play just behind the front two,,in the hole,,picking up the pieces and running at the centre halves..he has a choice that way, left or right and hes running at goal...i think he is too predictable out wide..full backs just need to let him go left and they know nothing will come of it.....what you think

  5. im waiting to get in touch with a member of here regarding the club.....has for b and q no i havnt...im a bit worried about playing with the big boys just yet because im not geared up for mass production just yet

however there is some premises coming up for rent close by and if i continue to get the orders it could be worth thinking about

  6. Have you contcted the club shop with a view to selling them through there?

    Or even the local B&Q!

Then again, there may be trademark issues!!

  7. About 4 years ago I got a great job offer in huddersfield so i decided to up root the whole family and move to wakefield which is easier to get to hudds every morning instead of the dreaded m62... then in february this year the inevitable happened and i was made redundant and my trade as a toolmaker is almost obsolete over this side of the hill so it was time to start banging my head to come up with some ideas...

After a recent visit to canada by my mother she came back with the news this particular store had taken making plant pot holders to a new level withdesigns of animals, cars, you name it,they did it... so the question was asked why not try something different like this.

Coming from a toolmaking background producing highly sophisticated plastic injection moulds to making plant pot holders was at first a shock, you know what reaction as you could imagine but after seeing the designs the canadians came up with made me think wow these things could take some making...

So I sat there and I thought what would people, like me, want in their garden... then it clicked... we are all oldham fans so why not the clubs logo... so here it is in all its glory (flowers not included by the way, got to get them back to the cemetary) and to my surprise and many others they look pretty damn good..they measure about 12 inches long, so plenty of room for your pots.

I've used quality materials, all hand painted and varnished and ours looks great on the patio... you could try the decking, side of your fish pond, driveway or even at the front door... will make them city and utd fans envious!

I've decided because I didnt buy a pink shirt or go to the leeds game i will donate a quid for everyone i sell to the pink shirt appeal... that will be my bit done

to cover costs of material, paints, and producing im selling these at 26 pounds and i will be making at least one trip over to oldham every week to deliver these.

if i can tempt you to buy one or more even (cheaper for two) please pm me with name, phone number and address and i will let you know when i will be over with it... probably a saturday or sunday

thanks for looking and keep the faith

  8. I wouldnt mindf him back on a one year contract with him earning a good few hundred quid a week. He gives 100% committment and when losing runs around like a headless chicken more than usual - which is exactly what we want. People say abbott is lazy, well heres a guy who can do all the runnin about

we had 11 headless chickens last season and look were that got us

  9. Heard Rob Purdie is class and Lee Hughes is to put pen to paper on Tues.

with abbott and hughes we will win the league easy

    oldham 4-1 county

millwall 2-3 oldham hughes trick from the hat

    i had a dream charton 0-3 oldham purdie pen 45, haining 58, Llera 90+2

    Team Bath 3-1 Oldham. Wolfenden , 2.

now i know why everyone keeps saying your off your head

  10. If ever there were a reason I despair with our support, this is a classic example...I can't believe how easily the majority have forgotten what went on last season. Or how instrumental a handful of peoples actions on and off the field were to the club and on the field events. Penney with his "young, hungry players"...how desperate we've become...a new era at Latics or a return to last seasons status-quo with an all-action, 35yr-old returning pisshead that the manager was happy to sling out the door. A player who at times reminded me on the occassion of Guy Branston (Yeovil at home, Chelts away...several others....)....we really have finally held our hands up and said "we ain't going to be pushing at the top, but let's at least try and make sure we stay in this division!" Well...that is if we forget last season that a couple of newly promoted teams stuck 5 and 6 goals past us in the odd game or two.

Nothing rings truer than the following from April 12th....

We're welcoming back one of the several reasons last season went down like the Titanic...not solely culpable but after Hartlepool away until Huddersfield away we had a severe liability at this club. But hey....let's forget that....coz he wins a few headers and has a swagger! Penney better have his balls in a vice on his return and warn him that his bullying, blamelessness and boozing are a thing of the past. Or else!

    u dont rate him then

  11. sat here bored waiting for some transfer action when i started thinking who could we buy to bang in the goals next season

so it got me thinking of the great strikers that has played against us at bp..

my first thoughts were andy cole playing for newcastle the first season they got promoted into the prem under keegan

i think it was a monday night game live on sky and craig flemming played cole of the park for 89 minutes but he still managed to score 2 fantastic goals

peter beardsley was awesome that night,,,infact the whole newcastle team were fantastic that night

the passing a movement was a joy to see

thinking about it i think they are the only team i enjoyed watching more than oldham..im one of those who tends to watch oldham play and not the other team but newcastle that night were something else..

1-3 i think it ended up with jobbo getting our toe bunger

so who was your memorable team or player to visit bp
