  1. could i make a suggestion to make the overall leader more accurate. give points for the position e.g. 1 point for finishing 3rd 2 points for finishing 2nd and 3 for finishing 1st. that way gives more credit for doing better. the way you have done it gives the same credit for finishing 3rd as 1st. my way abbot would be ahead of furman with 14 points to furmans 11 indicating abbot has been the best player not furman
  2. according to yesterdays mirror they are set to get a £1billion fine for paying bribes to get foreign contracts. BAE Systems chance to get the failsworth site a bit cheaper maybe? might want to bring as much money in as quickly as possible leading to them flogging things cheaper to get interest?
  3. exactly. so its not the police forcing the clubs hand its just the club making the best financial decision
  4. i may have miss read the OS but isnt it a club decision based on the police costs? united couldnt care less bout £11000 or prob more for policing but we do thats the difference not that the police favour them
  5. totally agree with this decision makes sense like it usualy does when they shift the home fans. just hope we dont get aload of people mouthing off bout how its a disgrace the way they get treated etc.
  6. think he will get some abuse with a few giving a good welcome. think he will take it one of two ways and either score or lose his head an get sent off. either that or he will get abused during game get subbed off and then get a round of applause
  7. nope cant get on either if its all the league 1 sites an maybe more premium tv or whoever it is might av crashed or summat
  8. good stuff. getting stuffed by the aussies was just a ploy to make the world think were crap at ODI's
  9. thats a very good point and also quite interesting. is there an official rule or is that down to referees judgement? anyone no?
  10. dont particularly like him mainly because of the way we played under him and the whole tranmere thing but i honestly hopes he does well there very harshly treated by tranmere and arguebly same when he was here. rotherham seem to have got themselves out of financial trouble now and got there club sorted so maybe they deserve a bit of success now and (from the perspective) who better to bring it than a club legend
  11. wouldn't be surprised. redknap said he was a big fan and wouldn't have minded taking him to spurs when he signed for county now they have a defensive crisis and can only sign free agents or loan players
  12. he has been. think hes been every league game he sits in front of me
  13. without nowing the figures its impossible to make an accurate guess. but could it just be that with the casino and hotell we would have been self sufficent and be bringing in 2 million profit a year where as without the casino and hotel we will only be self sufficent and make 500k profit these numbers maybe and probably will be miles out because i just made them up but you get the idea
  14. i think that formation is quite similar to how we started against millwall but we soon shoved parker up front from the wing because it wasnt working. might be an option away from home with more practice but it just seems to negative to me. dont think we are good enough to sit back and take a load of pressure off the other team. we will just concede but have nothing going forward. i think the idea of ollerenshaw starting is just desperation but a bad idea his confidence would be shattered and would possibly ruin his career. saw him at hyde in the friendly and wouldnt be confident at all. black at centre back is another no go for me. mainly because i dont think he is good enough at the minute to play left back in the first team let alone in a position he isnt used to. also you say to play centre half you dont have to be tall you have to be able to read a game thats a good point but i dont think black is great at reading the game so it wouldnt work. although an option could be sheehan at centre half. again not the tallest and i have only seen him against hartlepool so cant make a fair judgement on how he reads the game ut im sure he played there a bit at leeds. as for blackman he should be in the team but he needs someone next to him to hold it up dont think he is strong enough or experienced enough to lead the line on his own. im a fan of lee and actually agree he could play centre mid providing he has a good strong ball winner with him. but think furman needs his chance before lee forgot about gregan. no way he should be dropped. hes best defender we have strongest in the air a presence at the back and somewhat intiadating to opposition (anyone who went swindon last year when he played centre mid will agree with that). he can organise and lead the backline rubuen needs resting with a few games in the reserve to try an find form but no real candidate to replace and by all accounts had a decent game at bristol till last few mins so maybe he is coming out of his bad run. lomax is indifferent too inconsistant tho. actually liked the look of him in pre season but was a few mistakes ie blackpool but that doesnt mean he should be crucified for a couple of mistakes if we got rid of everyone who made a couple of mistakes we wouldnt have a team
  15. iv voted optimistic but dont think of myself as a happy clapper. i voted it mainly from the non football point of view. not saying the move will make us a better team and result in us winning everything and beating anybody that stands in our way but are financial position will be better so off the pitch we will have moved on on the pitch dont think we will push for promotion for a good while so think on the pitch the club will be pretty much the same as now if not slightly better off
  16. agreed. given time he will put together a squad and a team that are good enough. just needs the time and a bit of patience from the fans
  17. i want one centre back to come in and then i think that would be fine and the rest of the team will start to come good in time maybe the new players are still gelling. it mite be that penney is seeing improvements all the time in training and knows that it will start showing on the pitch. as for the centre half i would bring in on loan it would be any body old or young who isnt even necasarily better than what we have just someone at a similar level would be suffice just somebody to push rubes and greegs with the threat of there place being tacken they might wake up a bit. saying that i have no problem with gregan think he has been best player upto now. not saying he has been perfect but he has played well covered plenty of mistakes from other players and just been caught out once or twice usually no more than once in a game there are far more players in the team who make more mistakes. i would also keep faith in brill. yes he has made some clangers but some of the things he has been blamed for are a joke some people blamed him for the second against swindon when he was left with no chance after hazell swapped allegiance's. he will come good aslong as people get off his back and give him chance to get his form and when the rest of defence and midfield sort them selves out and give him a bit of protection. also the abusing of him at home games is a masterstroke whoever thought of that needs a pat on the back because if theres one thing you should do with a keeper and a young keeper at that who is goin through a rough patch and low on confidence is to get on his back and abuse him. that is surely the best and only way to get his confidence up and get him playing well again so bravo. (for those who do abuse him that was sarcastic. thought some of the abusers might have trouble working that out)
  18. thanks for actualy coming up with a sensible post that can be discussed sensible instead of the crap you have posted in other threads. although i dont agree i see where you are coming from. as i have only managed to get to the millwall game away from home i cant judge how he has played in the others but have been to al the home games. he does seem to be very much about confidence and his does seem to be quite low but who else could we play up there? blackman and parker are surely to similar i.e. full of pace. without abbot who will be the target an going to hold it up and bring others into the game? i think as a posed to giving him a rest we should look at other options like different formation or way of playing that would suit him and others in the team. i think parker and blackman or taylor on either side of him would work well as it provdes plenty of pace around him and should give us some much needed width which in about 90% of the matches i have seen this year we have lacked. if we put good balls into the box he will find the back of the net. the 451 formation would also allow for worthington :censored: and furman to all play in the middle which would give us a good mix of hard work an creativity in the middle and would hopefully help out the defensive side of things
  19. and the difference with penney is? ye fair enough he has had a pre season to drill inot them what he wants unlike joe but the team didnt come out of the downhill spiral. a win on the last game of the season against walsall is hardly the end of the spiral is it he has had less games than joe had so give him time aswel as joe was and would have been given if he had chose to stay on
  20. i almost didnt vote because of how rediculous a question it is but then i remembered we have complete morons on here who will vote out and that it would have a worse effect on the board to let the idiots win the vote. as i have said on a different thread no one called for joe royle to get sacked last year but the form we had under him was relegation form. this team will come good and penney will prove all his doubters wrong but they still wont be happy
