Robins tipped for Oldham job
Published: 29 Apr 2009

MARK ROBINS yesterday emerged as favourite to take charge at Oldham after Joe Royle revealed Saturday’s game at Walsall will be his last.
Royle — who returned to Boundary Park after the sacking of John Sheridan six weeks ago — insisted: “I always said I would stay until the end of the season.
“Oldham will always have a place in my heart, but it is a job for a younger man.”
Royle, 60, has failed to come up with a win in his eight games back in the hotseat.
Oldham’s owners are now looking for a dynamic, track-suited boss and are big admirers of the job Robins, 39, has done across the Pennines at League Two Rotherham.
Alan Knill is also in the frame after taking Bury into the play-off places.
Super sub????????........the man who knocked us out of the FA cup semi replay at Maine Rd 1990? - Ye gods????.....but he's done pretty well at his current place....strange things have happened......hmmmmm....

Help!!!...need some manly advice...(yes I am a girlie....)....my blooming washing machine has packed up with my 1990's latics shirt in it...and my ball and chain is working away.
The water will not discharge no matter what I do...
I am on the verge of kicking the damn thing to death....is there any hope of saving my shirt from drowning?...or is it time to move on, call a plumber and buy a new shirt.
What a taumatic day it has been, the end of several hopes and dreams flushed down the plug hole - literally for me...
....I canna cope....
Is there any hope for my shirt......?????

I have had enough....... we are all "experts" managers, players, owners on here with regards to Latics and solutions but as individuals we can't do a lot....so
I have decided I will be a "supporter", I will be returning back to BP next season after a self exile for a number of years. yes I have only recently returned and yes will get flack for it too, but oh how I have missed the walk down sheepfoot lane, the cheering of the lads on the pitch both though good and bad and although things have dramatically changed - this is still my home team and it needs my "support". Even if it just means me turning up though the turnstyles when I can.
I/we don't have a magic band aid to fix it all....but we do have one thing in common....the love of Oldham Athletic.....
I will be there at Walsall on Sat - dressed as a complete fashion victim from the 80's as its the theme on the Beardy bus and I am looking forward to the lads giving us something to cheer about too.
So what are YOU going to do and where will you be next season?
I hope walking down sheepfoot lane to watch a game of footy.....
-
You have got to keep this going...it can be like a daily update/cartoon of latics....its priceless.
Its a must read for most latics fans with a sense of humour...lets face it we have little else to cheer about.
can you not move it up the foodchain and give it a better spot....like the first thing you seen when you login?
It deserves more credit...move it on up lads!!!!

One day, just oneday I would like to get on here and see good news.
Its not raining in Oldham today - yet....

Lose the Lookers
Dismantled strikeforce
Women footballers
Loaned a string of clearly unfit strikers
Social lives getting in the way of the motivation to play
Alleged drunken behaviour

Sheridan sacked....
....and Joe seemingly appointed within hours, nay minutes - on a Sunday.
Tranmere at home - where did all those fans go to for the next home games?
Exodus of all the loan signings.
Textgate
Armbandgate
Joe decides to call it a day - 8 games in...
Question marks of the depth of the team for next season.
Question marks of the size of the budget for next season.
Missed anything....

Keeping the faith????....keep it going.....

at the moment its all hearsay and gossip and not "news"....
don't panick Mr Mannering.....
lets get the facts first with regards to:
a manager
Players - who stays/goes and what we can afford
our budget
owners
Ye gods this site can dive you nuts...I am thinking short term - sunshine on Sat and a win at Walsall please.
Pretty please even....
-

Hope you get one...good luck
-
Short memory. It's only two seasons ago.
Since being in this division I have never felt as sure that we were going up as I did at Swansea. Ah, well. :censored: happens.
<Shrugs shoulders before crying into wine glass>.
<Moves wine glass>.
pass it around...and its only Monday too...(sob....)

Try the other thread for that one!
aagghh!!...there are too many threads on this subject matter...."she canna cope captain..she's going to blow...."...thanks
-
bugger!!!!.....
So, who the chuff are we gonna end up with and what clout can he bring with them to get something special cooking again at BP
options anyone?
-
Where do these storys come from?
Wasn't me honest......anyone else wanna confess????
-
Bloomin eck...
Give them the entire team for those prices....
-
Millions for what??????
Ooooooo.....is that for Chaddy the Owl on a transfer??????
Or the entire stadium to be bought and sold for houses????
Could it be a "pay off" for the sun to stay out this summer???
or Hugh Jackman to make an one off appearance as "wolverine" in our midfield.....ouch....!!
the price of a Man Utd seaon ticket perhaps?
The mind boggles...
Tell us more and put us out of our misery
-
they say the same thing every year and has anyone took any notice....what they should say is everyone on the pitch at full time for a knees up and everyone might sod off home then...
you might have a point there
-
I hope they are not staying at the Clayton Green Premier Lodge
Nope, guess again
New Boss...?
