  1. Going to throw a few names into the hat; Darryl Duffy Nathan Ellington Rory Fallon Chris Porter Daniel Webber I have just looked on http://www.givemefootball.com/pfa-transfer-list found who is on a free transfer and below the age of 30 because I'm convinced the article said a striker who was still in their 20's so found these names, let the rumours continue
  2. Also Brett Ormerod is out of it as well. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13644151.stm
  3. Well it isn't Daniel Nardiello see link http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/e/exeter_city/9504153.stm
  4. Didn't the article say that the striker was in the 20's which would strike off some of the players mentioned above
  5. True it might seem like begging, but it was just an idea and if things are as bad as some people imply then we'll soon be out with the buckets begging! I still think approaching paul scholes to donate some money, or sum some sort of promotion with him would be good for playershare, but who knows if he can afford it now retiring from football and being on a coachong salary
  6. I just been wondering with the playershare scheme, has anyone had the idea of getting some platic pots / buckets into local shops? I ofetn donate change from a chocolate bars for example to the shops charity pot, why not for OAFC?? Thoughts
  7. It's a bank holiday weekend, like Pukka said not the end of the month yet so he should stop moaning and thinking bout his weekend out on the lash! If they have done a bank transfer today it won't go thorugh until at least Tuesday cos of the weekend rite?
  8. How bout asking Scholes to give up one weeks wage for Oldham? How much do u reckon that would generate?
  9. Agreed, I think they if anything need to just take a little more time proof reading and spell checking articles before releasing them. There is much bigger marketing issues, as mentioned on here a few times like time warps in Tameside
  10. it's our site done using a template / CMS, look at Rochdale's for example all the same design, layout bar the colours so what deal do we have and who with for the layout look etc... for the dated comment. http://www.rochdaleafc.co.uk/page/Home Also the problem of doing that is, one the students might screw up affecting the club, two the students are only there for a number of years and having a number of students over a period of time wouldn't keep consistency with anything from style, new features to artices. In relation to the articles, with grammar, spelling errors etc... I hate to say it isn't really a web developers job, as they are usually techy people who hate writing, for that you need a writer someone doing English, or Media degrees. Finally it would be much better for them to get a University Placement student, a one year paid placement at £10 - 12k, probably cant afford it they can work along side the existing staff doing whatever. Or you could to cut costs get freelancers in, but that could cost more in the long run, its a tricky game to play with a number of options available.
  11. True a youth from the prem might be good in the sense, they get money thrown at their football education, should be cheap on the wages front, but lack experience, often confidence and how to command the area properly but that last one does depend on the individual. But shouldn't we be looking at GK's because at the moment all we have is Paul Gerrard and a youth rite? So why not one with experience of lower league and one with potential. Also whats stopping a prem club recalling the player like with Amos?
  12. Yeah I thought that, but maybe the some much needed experience especially at our level. Also with people saying we need two GK's maybe worth enqurying to how much he want in wage, if low sign him up on a short term deal with potential to extend.
  13. I would love to be chinese or anything other than white, go along to a local football club in a suit and let some rumours start that I was condiering buying the club haha I seriously doubt its going to happen
  14. Not sure if it has been mentioned, if so apologies. I was reading and looking on the BBC site seeing who was being released from what clubs, when I came across this article. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13391018.stm My question is would you want Darryl Flahavan back at Oldham, seemed okay when we had him here he's 32 now so no spring chicken and maybe not young enough to fit into Dickov's plans but since we don't have a proper a keeper maybe worth having a butchers what you think?
  15. Yeah, I can see the squad being of about 20 players max including a number of youths. A few loans chucked in with little to no wages paid by ourselves, if things get a bit tricky because of injuries then we'll manage either via loans or youths much like this season. The context of his last statement is more we were unlucky, i'm getting rid of players that are; a) too expensive for what they can bring aren't good enough for where we want to me c) don't have the correct attitude / drive, the likes of Reid me thinks But hey we'll have to wait and see
  16. I found a comment on his facebook and posted it on here somewhere, but basically said along the lines of Stephens won't be playing for us again.
  17. I don't why ur going mental at dickov he's not done too badly in what is his 1st season. He got some very young players to gel and preform for the first half of the season, but the foot came of the pedal around Christmas with the bad weather and confidence / inconsistence set in because we have a young squad. We can pretty much predict that Stephens is going to go in summer, just comments from Furmans facebook gives it away that the rest of the squad kno he aint coming bck. SO taylor might be gone too I think that we'll end up with lots of loan players next season then
  18. I thought Morais was only signed until summer, also Dickov's is a rolling contract so that is up in the aqir as well.
  19. Whos contracts run out in summer? I dont think we can afford to be paying up contracts.
  20. It won't happen purely because of the amount of traffic generated on a match day, would be a nightmare for non fans or thats how the council will see it. Also who currently own all that land? Is it a bunch of seperate people or all council owned? We cannot afford another failsworth to happen to us.
  21. Also found this out, the guy who has done the Javascript is Andrew Hopwood, ive included a link to his site. www.andrewhopwood.co.cc Ps. Coding for the wearelatics site is terrible! Use firebug add in firefox and you'll see what I mean :p
  22. I have a theory, at first I thought it was a new online show. but ive just had a brain wave! Maybe...just maybe it is an annoucment on the stadium front. Any thoughts?
  23. Just found this comment from Furman on fb Dean Furman Losing dale is a real killer! He won't play for us again, but gotta keep going and secure our status for next year..
  24. So we can get a max of 70 points, from our remaining games realistically I reckon we are probably going to get 12 from that, so 58 point. SO my prediction is we're gonna stay up and end up about 15th in the league. Anyone agree with that?
