  1. Ice Cold in Alex was my particular "fave". He actually started to make sense after a while. Crewe_Koala was an utter gob:censored:e, and as for Jewell.......
  2. Well said Derek. This has very much become the "happy clappy" board and anyone who doesn't think that Da Tics are going to win the Champions League is derided as a moaner/not a proper fan/whatever pathetic insult can be invented at the time. There are a lot of posters on here who can't seem to understand that it is perfectly feasible to love your team and be able to deliberate on it's weaknesses. I was a long-time poster on JKL under various guises (just to add some spice to it, not because I had anything to hide) and, as much as I'm glad OWTB is here, miss JKL to a large extent because of the lack of "characters". T_N (AKA MegaGeoff, Dr Miserable, Dr Happy, etc.)
  3. Allott by miles. Maybe player of the season so far?
  4. As eloquent as always Smarty! I don't think Crossley has made any more/less mistakes than Pogs does in a season and is worth his place.
  5. At last, someone talking some fecking sense. It's tough being a poster on this 'ere message board when you're not all happy-clappy, "we're gonna win the Champions League".
  6. We could, but the discussion was about the reasons why the home attendance might have diminished over recent months, not what might happen in the future. Or is that not allowed any more?
  7. The die-hards deserve nothing but praise, but the lack of a decent crowd at BP has to be a contributing factor in our continuing mediocrity, doesn't it?
  8. I was only joking fella.........Jepson was shiite beyond belief. It has been the same for years and we have struggled to put together a decent squad of 15-16 players for a long time.
  9. I still think it comes down to the depth of squad........players who can't be arsed should be replaceable from within the squad but never are at BP. When was the last time you looked at the bench and thought "come on Shez, get 'so and so' on.......he'll make a difference". The last impact player we have at BP was Ronnie Jepson and that was only because of the size of his arse!
  10. So that means we haven't spent our money wisely then, or did Scunny, Brightin and Colchester just get lucky?
  11. I remember Paddy Crerand regularly calling Francis a donkey on GMR, and I remember the Red 's words ringing in my ears when Francis planted that peach of a header in his own goal!!
  12. Easy tiger! I'm not saying it's the fan's fault, just that more gate receipts = better players and we have been lacking for yonks. We did hit bad form last season at precisely the wrong time, and a better squad which we might have been able to afford could well have been the difference.
  13. Livermore is unconvincing at left back........Lomax deffo for me. Not sure about Livermore at left wing, I just don't think he's that good. Jarrett looked off the pace today and was carried by Allott who was my MOM today. Arguably, Allott is player of the season so far and is probably our most consistent player.
  14. Francis' own goal will remain the best ever. Should be a Guinness record!!
  15. Not sure if I agree. Until the new stadium is built and fully operational, gate receipts & ST money is the only income of the club and revenue = better players in the days of the salary cap etc. Having 4K "superfans" is surely contributing to the fact that we are still in this :censored:ty division 10 years later??
  16. It's not just about results, the performances have been pretty poor this season, especially at BP. We still lack creativity and struggle to break down defences at home. Don't get me wrong, we ARE improving but my guess is a significant number of those turning up last season/early this are sick of coughing up £20 to watch poor quality football.
  17. Can imagine Shez being a bit of a stubborn when he wants to be.
  18. Tranmere for the same reason as above..........fecking Alridge. Hate the man, always have, always will. Then Wnaky Wanderers.
  19. How many times over the last 10 fecking years, more like!!
  20. In my mind, the biggest thing we've lacked this season is creativity and I'm not sure if either Jarrett or Livermore will provide the answer. I've not seen Livermore play so won't make comment. Jarrett looked useful in the centre but was often passing sideways and backwards, something we have in abundance already in the likes of Kalala and Allott. I really hope I'm wrong and that both/either one proves to be what we need, but we'll lack chances & goals until we find some creativity in midfield. As for play-offs, I gave up on that long ago. We're not consistent enough, especially at home, to go on a streak of games where we'll amass enough points to get into the top 6 and stay there. Again, I hope to be proven wrong and I expect to be called a moaner/pessimist/negative bstard/whatever insult you want to concoct. I'd regard myself as a realist based on umpteen years of watching Tics fail to get out of this mediocre league.
