  1. Sweet baby Jesus, not another "mate of a mate" story during the close season. I think I'll hibernate next summer to avoid the tedium of all of this.
  2. I'd snap Donny's hand off for £500K+. Love his enthusiasm but he rarely delivers a decent ball into the box and his corners/set-pieces continue to be gash. I'd swap him for Wellens + £100K any day of the week.
  3. I'd have Wellens back in a flash but it won't happen. He was our most important player last season and we've failed to replace him ever since, and I include Kilkenny when I make that comment.
  4. I have never understood the attraction of running onto the pitch. Sprint into the centre circle, jump up and down for a bit, and run back into the stand. Talk about utterly pointless!! It's a "tradition" that should have died out years ago, along with 5 year old chimney sweeps and the compulsory drowning of witches.
  5. Would be glad to see him in a Tics shirt. Would be a great addition to the squad.
  6. I'd much rather any funds from Richards' sale go into accelerating the speed of the ground redevelopment than get blown on players. The ground development is the future of the club and I think there is far less chance of TTA buggering off if they are not faced with footing the whole of the redevelopment bill. Once done, the club will be in a much stronger position to generate revenue and enable more longer-term investment of the team. Ya never know, the apathetic Oldham public may even bother to turn up in greater numbers............. Mebbe not.
  7. Not surprised by the pricing and I still won't be renewing. I'll pick mi games next season. I can't justify to myself paying £300+ when I've had a meagre level of enjoyment this season at BP.
  8. I'm not going either. Just moved house and I'm struggling to justify to myself going to BP to watch what will probably be another dull affair.
  9. There's a Firefox 3 Beta 4 out which I'm using already. Not massively different to FF2 but has a few new features but is quite a lot faster, even with a chunk of add-ons installed. It's difficult to improve on something that is practically perfect anyway! Never used Opera so can't comment. IE anything is the devil.
  10. Easy tiger. Udders were gash beyond belief. We were much better on Satdy, without doubt, but to proclaim Shez as the saviour of universe is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay previous. He's a young manager, learning his trade, and he may be very good. But he also may be decidedly average and the jury is still out in my view.
  11. There are far more important areas of the team that need strengthening at the moment. Start with a creative midfielder and another wide player, and then think about the other positions afterwards.
  12. I'd take Wellens back over Taylor any day of the week. Wellens was by far our most important player over the last few seasons and we missed him more than anyone else when he was out injured/banned/whatever.
  13. Been saying it for ages. Stick him in the owl suit at least.
  14. He played very well but did start gobbing-off to various team mates in the 2nd half. Came across as a "billy big " a bit too much for my liking.
  15. Couldn't believe Franny the Gob:censored:e at half time, describing Tippy, Rickers and Innes as the good, the bad and the ugly. I would have given £100 of my hard-earned to see Tippy go in with a waisy-high tackle on the 70s throwback wnaker.
  16. Me and our kid were pissing ourselves laughing at that announcement. The bizzarest thing I've heard in years.
  17. I'm not sure if many truly want Shez out although there are rumblings from some, obviously. If this did happen (and it seems inconclusive) then he is out of order in my view, but definitely not a reason to get rid.
  18. I wasn't there today (couldn't be arsed I'm afraid to say) but if Shez did what is reported then he should be hauled over the coals. There is no excuse for an official of the club to flick Vs at the home supporters, simple as that. Abuse comes with the territory and Shez knows that.......he's been in football long enough. Supporters get angry when they see poor performances week in, week out having shelled out for tickets and the emotion spills over. Shez needs to be big enough to take it cos it comes with the job.
  19. I'm probably not going to renew. Money is a little tighter this year but I could find it if I really wanted to. Thing is, I don't really want to.........there's been far too many poor games this season. Bar Everton, the enjoyment levels have been next to nil and we often spend most of the match taking the pisss out of our own team cos of how poor we are. I'm not sure if I want to spend £300+ to sit in the Chaddy taking the pisss out of my own team. I will go to BP next season but will pick and choose my matches. It'll be the first time in 15 years that I won't have a season ticket but enough is enough. Sorry TTA.
  20. Maybe, maybe not. I think people will base their response on this season's prices and this season's standard of "football".
  21. I think the days of blind faith and vocal support regardless of the quality of the football are gone. Football is too expensive these days and fans who attend matches expect to be entertained to a certain level, and the mediocre stuff on show at BP this season has switched a lot of people off. Most will not just turn-up and shout and sing from the 1st minute, but expect to be excited by what they see on the pitch and react accordingly. There are exception (the fans at Pompey spring to mind) but they are the exception that proves the rule.
