  1. Fifty years plus and this season flattered to deceive for a good while, then it showed its true colours or rather the so-called team did. I have felt worse than this but we were higher and the fall was a disaster, this one feels like slap in the face for having the nerve to believe we could come good this season. My version of Oldham Athletic has gone and will never return. At least I have seen the good times and experienced the elation of success. There have been times at BP when me and my daughters wouldn't have been anywhere else in the world, at that moment in time.
  2. No matter how much we call for his head, he ain't going anywhere unless he walks..which he may do. He's already saying his hands are tied and to me that means not much will change next season. Stick or twist with the manager but the players are either totally shit or have completely downed tools and I don't think anything will change with a new man in charge. Imposter syndrome is rife at BP.
  3. Saturday's attendance will be shit. I saw a glimmer of hope when we took the lead twice but the draw was always lurking in the background.
  4. Which it could just well become if the ST sales are as piss poor as we expect them to be. Frank's homecoming after rowing the Atlantic at over seventy years of age was a colossal achievement and phenomenal effort. The clowns on the pitch couldn't even match a fraction of that for 90 fucking minutes. They bottled it before the ball was even kicked. Unfortunately, it was all downhill from thereon in. Shite after shite, gutless and can't-be-arsed performances for whatever reason the fans will never know, unless some fucker spills the beans on social media. I don't expect them to beat Halifax and Wealdstone will probably be another 0-0. Predicting Southend to sneak into the final spot and Barnet to clinch promotion.
  5. Probably too embarrassed to publish any updates. Can't possibly see the lofty heights of last close season being reached.
  6. Obviously they think Halifax competing to get into the playoffs will provide some entertainment as they glide past a big club like Latics. Might as well give them the three points now. I wonder how many Chesterfield fans will attend to cheer on Halifax?
  7. You could be correct and what a victory that would be for the useless set of football imposters we have playing [and I use the term loosely] at the club.
  8. I can't get to matches because of a health condition and distance double-whammy but can manage the occasional game now and again. I go 50-50 with a mate who can get to most games, so although not a full contribution, a little is better than nothing. I think the OP has made a pretty good case for getting behind the club if not the set of tossers we have playing for us at the moment.
  9. I elected to retain Fondop for his threat and unpredictability and Green for the player we know he can be..but, if they do go, I am not going to lose any sleep over it. It's a shame Conlon's head was fucked over, however he may be useful with some better players alongside him, I hope.
  10. Finally listened to the post match interview and the underlying disgust with the players is there for all to see. To me, he has come as close to calling them out in public as he possibly can. They're shit and they've downed tools as well and as he rightly points out, many will still be here stealing a living next season. What a fuck up it was to allow Unsworth the close season. Barring a fucking miracle, I cannot see much being different next season, many of the same players with the same issues churning out the same shite unless he can bring in some quality in the required areas to drag the others up to scratch. I'm just very sceptical right now. In all honesty, if he stays, he's going to need two close seasons to recruit before we stand any chance of getting back into the league. I'm not sure a different manager will do any better with the clowns he would have at his disposal.
  11. They're two nil up now and a win only makes our pathetic draw at an already relegated club an absolute criminal waste of an opportunity to gain ground and put pressure on. Fucking infuriating.
  12. Aye, that really didn't help! It's looking like a series of self-inflicted disasters.
  13. It's impossible to do that but, the most annoyingly galling, infuriating and the biggest slap in the face is the players not giving a fuck about the fans.
  14. If they had won today, I would be optimistic that a freak set of results could have seen in us in it. The pathetic piss-weak performance today not only puts that to bed but it's nothing less than they deserve. It's not what we, the fans, deserve.
  15. It did but don't you think the marked downturn began with the Kidderminster defeat and Norwood returning to the team when the Garner/Fondop partnership was working quite well?
  16. Players have to be interested to score goals. It's plain from the comments this team has been disinterested for a long time. On all outward appearances, Mellon has fucked it up somehow and how he puts it right is beyond me.
  17. I'll listen to the post-match tonight, I need something to send me to sleep.
  18. Are you saying the Reid incident could be the catalyst or not having Reid playing? On the outside, it appears as if Mellon has lost the players, if so, nothing much is going to change.
  19. Not just a different team, different tactics, motivation and I wouldn't be arsed if it was a different manager. What's happened since Kidderminster at home and since Norwood returned to the team?
  20. 90+7, the goalkeeper was probably packing his kit away. Still, he is playing in League One.
  21. I think it was said out of frustration. And yes, it is a nonsense.
  22. There never was one, it is pitch black all the way.
  23. Well, the latter part went to shit. Watched the game and thought both sides were absolute cack. We must be really bad.
