  1. Should construction start on time (that's another issue), then that fence won't be there come January. Nice idea though.
  2. Sorry, sounded more like an 'informed HP sauce told me' rather than speculation. Can't see it being anyone other than Baxter. Tarky maybe but that's it.
  3. Bull:censored:. If Dickov signs Wes he'll be out of the job by Christmas. To be honest, if the rest of the squad is kept together I wouldn't miss Wes too much. He isn't in mine (nor LJ's) starting 11. I would imagine he's on a nice wedge so if he does go, LJ has the potential to bring in a couple. Anyway, I can't see Dickov paying for Wes and we are unlikely to let him go on a free.
  4. 1/2 Not to put a pre-season downer on things but LJ yesterday talked about a squad packed with 'sellable commodities'. https://twitter.com/MENOAFC/status/363331860320890881 2/2 It would not surprise me if one of those commodities moved elsewhere if a certain S.Yorks club attracts new investment. #oafc https://twitter.com/MENOAFC/status/363332003287924736 Not saying Mike from the MEN is right, but he's not usually far off.
  5. Yeah he did mention promotion. Ah well, optimism eh? Bale isn't at Real yet, Rooney isn't at Chelsea yet, Baxter isn't at Donny. Really hope he stays, this is an exciting team.
  6. Funny, I thought Gordon lead him on and he seemed distracted. Or maybe that's just the worry of him leaving... Roll on September 3rd...
  7. Blackburn after buying Tarky if the people is to be belived.
  8. The Baxter interview from yesterday doesn't work on the app for me but works on the PC.
  9. I've just watched LJ's interview on player. Wow he has a busy few days, before this game on Tuesday he mentioned: Stevenage game analysis Action of that analysis to players Going to the Derby match today at 4pm Analysis of Derby Action of Derby analysis to players. So two full games analysis and communication before Tuesday. I would have thought its safe to say Derby simply don't have the time to do all of that. On a side note, massive amounts of data and analysis in use by LJ. I've certainly never known a manager speak of things like that (although it obviously happened?). Liking LJ more.
  10. Christ, we'll have to draw up terms of references and get out pledges checked by a legal advisor. Example: I'll pledge one (1) English Pound Sterling for every goal scored as described by the rules of the game called football (also known as soccer) under the provision the goal is acknowledged and ruled legal by the appointed match officials in accordance with the above stated rules. This pledge only relates to first team games, that is no reserve, age restricted or otherwise will count towards this pledge. The goals can only be scored by Oldham Athletic Football Club with no reference to any subsidiary, related or otherwise third parties. The football matches the goals are scored during must be a Football League approved Sky Bet League One football match with no other competitions such as the FA Cup being considered. Please see the football league website for a full list of non-compliant cup competitions. Goals counting towards this pledge must be scored by an approved and contracted player of Oldham Athletic FC, own goals or other such goals not limited to but including bouncing off of an officials arse, a light breeze and a rebound from a piece of heavy construction equipment will not be permitted. Finally, the goals must be scored in the duration of the 2013/2014 season, that is between 1st August Two-thousand-and-thirteen and the 31st May two-thousand-and-fourteen. Any goals scored outside of this period will not be counted towards this pledge. Monies owed will be present on the 1st June 2014 after official verification with the Football League, Oldham Athletic Football Club and rudemedic of OWTB. Their decision is final. In the event of a dispute between one or more of the parties involved, the English Football Association will be consulted and will be required to act as a legal arbitrator by appointing a panel of five independent persons not connected or affiliated to any of the bodies, organisations or individuals mentioned herein. Signed: Pledger: <pledgee's names here> Pedantic arse on behalf of OWTB: <enter name> Witness 1: <enter name> Witness 2: <enter name> Prime Minister of the United Kingdom: President of Moldova: The Pope: Robert Mugabe: Phew, don't know where that came from, I think we'll just let Diego decide whether the penalty miss is included eh?
  11. This is the point. Especially if Derby have a shocker, they only have effectively a day to recover and sort out tactics/team. I agree with the argument that these are professional sports people, but I'm confident that their focus can be lost quickly. In really looking forward to Tuesday and Saturday.
  12. I've noticed Derby play at 4pm tomorrow against Blackburn - not an easy game. Here's hoping a weaker and tired Derby side will be out on Tuesday - nothing better for confidence than beating another championship side. Another cup run could also help bring in £££ to ensure we can bring in a CB should to need arise.
  13. Where is the 10/1? Bet 365 has 15/4 and sky bet has 4/1
  14. Adam Rooney, Adam Rooney, Adam Adam Rooney He ain't called Wayne, he's got a brain, this ones not a looney!
  15. I thought about that but Ritchie is a legend, wouldn't feel right singing it about someone else. Well, he is ginger and he does have a problem with Swindon
  16. It wasnt picked up the other day, or it was ignored but: Adam Rooney is a ginge is a ginge is a ginge Adam Rooney is a ginge, he hates Swindon. /get my coat
  17. It is the full handicap league, basically if someone with a higher handicap finishes above us, you've lost. So we are +27, if Stevenage on +32 finish above us they "win" the league. Of course, the handicap has to take you above the top placed team in real life so if Wolves finish on 87 points and win the league, we need 61 and need to be above anyone with a higher handicap like Stevenage. There are only four teams below us, so if we have a decent season, we should produce on this bet. There is always the danger of Port Vale (+25) scoring 3 more points than us and winning outright, but it's a slim chance IF we have a decent season. Probably not explained it well but the handicap figure is added onto ALL points totals at the end of the season, in effect Stevenage are top of the league now with a 32 point lead without playing a game.
  18. Player contracts etc are paid from the holding company.
