  1. I've no idea if it was underhand or under Shez's nose or all above board. Nor was I implying it. If you know please share with the MB. Although the salient point is 'seemed'
  2. It is for some. Or the fact the Royle's gave him the job due to being mates. I've repeatedly stated, most managers fail so if I predict every manager to fail I'll ultimately be proved a clever clogs more than not. Regarding DU, I think he will always sway to being defensive in style so for him, he must win more to keep the punters happy. No one likes being proved wrong so the vocal outer's views will always be negative now. He will have to live with it. One week DU blue and white army, the next we want DU out. I just hope after all these years of decline we manage to get up, then stay up.
  3. Did he win anything? there's you answer. Newcastle have improved but he's won nothing yet
  4. No cigar. Yes we stayed up, that's not success it's avoiding failure. Big difference.
  5. Well none of them succeeded. Dowie had us excited on a good budget. Alas no cigar. Currently the DU story is unfinished.
  6. You might just be on to something here. Remind me how many successful managers we've had. Then take your time naming all those that failed. I wonder what odds you'd get on the next and the next latics manager failing.
  7. I think we can safely say the wage budget from last season as increased without fear of contradiction . At the fans forum I asked had Frank sought any outside investment given he previously mentioned this just after the takeover. DR gave a firm no and moved on. That indicates to me the budget isn't an issue currently.
  8. I was telling that joke (not regarding a Latics player) absolutely years ago. Maybe Ritchie has used it that long it's now true
  9. That rumour could well be true, it makes sense. OK I get DU may have brought Rooney in ( I think he did) however no manager/coach gets every signing right or character. This is one of the reasons a manager needs time to get his squad right. Like DU or not we the fans need to get behind the side. Divided we fall. Come the end of the season let's judge then. We will either succeed or know we are very close for the next season.
  10. Fair point. I should imagine we are at the budget limit and if the likes of Rooney and possibly Hope ain't going to make the squad, it makes sense to use their wage elsewhere. If the target moves beforehand then we miss that one.
  11. Come on.... how many posts can you make into a DU out post?. At least its not costing a Phil Jones amount let alone a Maguire. Shit signings always happens at all clubs. Given where our squad was coming from we ain't done too bad.
  12. If you think it... then it's right for you. No one cares if a person only thinks it.
  13. This is exactly what I posted about. Labeling people vultures to make a point of view. Plenty of people have sat on the trust now the foundation board, including me. Who are those you now label? Let's take Matt Dean currently, he's now in a position where he will meet quite often people of roles within the club. It's not beyond the realms of possibility firm friends will be made. The moment these friendships appear to others to be a conflict of interest he'll be slatted. Maybe you'll call him a vulture. Of course he's not right?
  14. It's comical, anyone who sits above the parapet on any platform gets slatted. It appears they are fair game and anything is OK to say about them. Yet when they fight back they are bang out of order. That's not aimed at anyone in particular, it happens time and time again.
  15. You and me both....The Bosses of Industry get 16% salary increases and more than likely nice pay off's should they step aside. That's political though and my Facebook page as enough of that.
  16. Over what time scale? their contracts.
  17. If I named every manager in the top 5 divisions of English football and proclaimed they're shite will win fook all and be sacked. You know what, I'd be right 90% of the time.
  18. I am sure you've posted plenty of truths and quite a few chunks of opinion. Opinions are fine, as we all hold our own and so we should. Do I think the performances have been free flowing? no I certainly don't. Do I think we string enough 4 or 5 pass moves? again no I don't. However the Chesterfield performance and game plan really should have been pulled off. We had the better chances and Norwood himself say's he should have scored more. possibly 3 on the day. Those go in and the subsequent inquest would never have happened. DU is defensive, do I wish we played free flowing, goal scoring football? of course I do. I want to be entertained, but the Chesterfield game was not a Southend and we should have won it.
  19. We weren't lucky, the players carried on till the end and scored. That was what they were trying to do!! They were lucky Norwood missed the lob. Were they lucky to score due to the players switching off moaning about a foul on Hogan? you can't have both ways right?
  20. A few good hidings at the hands of some serious firms would curb it. Yeah yeah I know violence is not the answer and I live in the old world thinking, but that's really the world we live in. Ask a Ukrainian.
  21. Should Norwood have us one up yesterday? And did their keeper hand that chance to us
