  1. Oh man, what a day out. The Oldham fans were amazing, the Putney End was absolutely rocking for the whole 90 minutes. My favourite bit was when we conceded, the crowd barely missed a beat before launching into, "We all play in blue and tangerine" as though the goal hadn't happened. Almost brought a tear to this exile's eye. And what a great team performance. Does Missilou play like that every week? How strong is Branger-Engone? A real Captain Fantastic performance from Peter Clarke. Great penalty save from Iverson. Amazing team spirit, Pete Wild has done something right and Frankie Bunn can't have been too wide of the mark for that team spirit to be there. So what a day. They're what it's all about aren't they? I'll take today to my grave. Brilliant performance by my home town team, cheered and sung on for 90 minutes by the amazing Oldham following. Unbelievable. COYB
  2. After reading this and last night's result I feel a lot more optimistic. We might just have a rising star on our hands. I will be at the last game of the season. I was dreading it but am now more of a mind that it'll be a staying up party rather than a sack the board farrago. Well done to the twelve who went to the meeting, great reporting. And crdit to the club too for a PR coup.
  3. A fair bit has been made of the dossier on the strengths and weaknesses of our current playing squad. It would be interesting if he ran you through the dossier and suggested how he intended to rectify the weaknesses.
  4. Great summary Ackey. He came across well, few too many cliches but let's cut him some slack (ha). I liked some of the points he made, particularly the one about the players behaving like ultimate professionals for the next 6-7 weeks. If they do that they'll probably stay up.
  5. It's Luke Procter. Counthill alumnus according to Playfair.
  6. I think we need a bit of height in the team. Physically we are very small, the Sunderland loan boys aside.
  7. “I’d like to think so, but as far as I know it’s just a loan at the moment[/b], so hopefully I’ll play games here and impress the gaffer," Surely he knows on what basis he's gone there? I only saw him play twice. The first time at Brentford he was excellent and looked like the cultured midfielder we'd been missing since Wellens left. Against Orient he was shocking but it looked like a lack of confidence rather than talent and you could have said that about most of the team that day.
  8. Having seen Mantom the bantamweight and Reuben Reid i'm not that keen on fostering links with WBA.
  9. HAsn't Stephens been missing for a large chunk of the poor run?
  10. What a tool, not going anywhere with that attitude. Good to see that Winchester is showing such a professional attitude to his diet and nutrition.
  11. This was my second game of the season after seeing the Brentford game earlier in the season and I was shocked by the contrast in the two performances. Against Brentford it was clear that Oldham were a team that enjoyed each others company and enjoyed playing the game. Against MK there was little or no evidence of this. It's all very well having a huddle before the start of the game but there was hardly any communication between players in dead ball situations. The only communication between players seemed to be in the way of minor fracas. Some of the players that have been added to the squad since the Brentford game were very disappointing. I don't think Reid will work out, his attitude and body language are apalling. Todd looks like his legs have gone to me but maybe he's still working towards full fitness. And no wonder Richie Jones is all fighty if Manton is preferred to him. By contrast Amos is excellent between the sticks, a real improvement on Brill. One of his saves in the 1st half was absolutely outstanding. All in all a deeply concerning evening. Hopefully this is a blip rather than a trend.
  12. Will the Ritchie T be available on-line?
  13. Are they in the on line shop, can't see them? Keen to get one, don't want to have to ask the old man to go to the actual shop.
  14. Sound, I want to put it on my Christmas list.
  15. Ay up, are these available yet? I can't find them on-line, am I being dim?
  16. Anyone else bothered by the casual homophobia in the thread title?
  17. Very nice, a Ritchie no.8 would be on my Christmas list.
  18. You're comparing apples with pears. I should make it clear that I applaud the club for opening the shop and looking at increasing the profile. However, the purpose of the shop is to make profit, the club is a business and people shouldn't "volunteer" and take away the paid work of others. It's damaging and potentially demoralising for the retail staff already employed and it removes a job opportunity.
  19. This would be fine if the club was run by volunteers. It's not. It has many paid employees and by volunteering to do for free what they get paid for people are endangering their employment. This is not the same as attending a poker night or some other type of benefit. Basically, how would you like it if someone pitched up at your work place and offered to do your job for free. Would you be chuffed?
  20. Brilliant, you've done someone out of paid employment.
  21. It's a sign of good, confident management if you can admit to making a mistake. I only get to the odd away game so only lb I have seen this season was Evina's debut. It wasn't great but it was his debut and he is 18yo. Dicko will have to do right by young Cedric because the link with Arse is one he will want to foster fiven the quality of the players they potentially loan out.
  22. He probably has a nick name, cf Nani. I suspect it may be Ay up Lad Fado
  23. It is possible to get to Dagenham East from Euston in less than 90 minutes according to the TFL website: http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/user/XSLT...ulateDistance=1
