I expected Fulham to smash us and went to enjoy the day and visit a new ground, Donny is about as repetitive as we could get as we have played them 2535 times in the last 8 years..The game doesnt have the same feel as the Fulham one and the excitement isnt there this time for me, just hope we are competitive and still in the game by 60 mins to give us a chance..

Agree. On this, do you think the familiarity of the fixture will affect our atmosphere? As in, we were mint against Fulham and the best I’ve been involved in with Latics but doubt we’ll be up for it just as much with it being Donny? Even though by league and form we’re underdogs massively, I don’t think our away following will feel and sound as though we’re underdogs

  2. Agree totally LightDN, billy has provided an  excellent service for the many (sic) - but the few (one person, from what I can see) has done what he usually does and takes the differing opinion, and likes to be awkward. There’s always a place for people like Deyres but tonight you’ve been insufferable... and I disagree that Billy should not post on here. I mean if I was him I wouldn’t, going above and beyond what he needs to do, but feel free to continue maybe just ingore the quite obvious fishing, you know who to look out for now. There’s only one. On both platforms, Deyres and RickyLeese.

Minute by minute update is done to build anticipation, and so that those that are on the fence about going might see the updates and choose to go because everyone else is

Its also just good customer service and generates a bit of positivity

The way I see it, doing a tweet that takes 30 seconds and gets a lot of retweets (thus a wider outreach) is worth it, even if some see obsessing over attendance (we’re not) “cringey”

Na, not you fella. Daily is fine... and don’t actually mind it.

The ones inbetween where people are getting worked up about it all, demanding more tickets before we’ve even sold half the allocation and worrying if they’ll be able to get hold of one like they’re gold dust or summet. Daily updates is decent and information from ticket office very easy to get hold of nowadays.

Oh and then on a day you don’t update, presumably because we’ve hardly sold many more than the previous day, everyone gets in a panic😂 chill out fellas

    Picked mine up earlier.

Can't tell you how many we've now sold as I didn't ask due to not being an attendance nonce

    You was itching to ask.

I’ve never asked, but it’s not even necessary nowadays with the minute by minute update ffs. Good following going down though by the looks of it, as usual.

  5. Our away support was fantastic before that group of his.

Our away support is fantastic now.

Our away support will be fantastic long after them lot have stopped going.

Sorry, not buying it, that the group with a drum add anything that wouldn’t have been there anyway, certainly at away games where our support has always tended to be brilliant.

It baffles most normal thinking people.  The mode of splitting the space into affordable "Sum of the parts" type units like Hollinwood Business Centre would have worked. Business Hub start up etc with larger facilities on tap. But units to suit the design types, soliciors etc as parking good and access to M60 excellent but about as much vision as a blind man. Even a self storage type business which are appearing exponentially an option. Leaving a new building empty is criminal in oh so many ways.

I am out of touch re taxation etc but if the building theoretically losing 75k per can they offset that against other activity.  Also do they pay any rates/Council Tax if empty over a 6 month period as that would be substantial. Leaving it unfinished a tactic?

Mind boggling. I genuinely can’t believe these three made a vast amount of money through business.

Its an attractive proposition for many small unit companies similar to those you’ve named above, if the rates were reasonable. Surely they could have negotiated a deal with around 4 or 5 tenants - they must have made huge errors in who they drafted in to secure business.

Theres so much scope at Oldham in the way of stadia utilisation, but nothing is done. Criminal, like you say.

Amateur hour just like many things at our club during their tenure.

It’s more likely to appeal to a convenience store or Papa John’s pizza delivery place... something completely unrelated to football.

£75k is crazy money though. I’m not sure on the square footage but would guess that it should command a rent of 30% of that at best. Plus a rent free period usually offered as standard.

Assuming the space doesn’t have toilets or water, waste and drainage then this would be the first thing to get costed up rather than worry about the amount of rent. And instead of rent, look at offering a turnover rent - ie a percentage of the turnover rather than a fixed rent.

It baffles me, that these so called businessmen haven’t explored these opportunities already. Like you say, the space would be perfect for a papa johns type delivery space similar to the ilk below your Tesco superstores.

One of my lecturers and co founders at uni stated that the club had a great opportunity with this new stand, and he was drafted in as an advisory - Simon corney wasn’t willing to take any of that advice on board and you can see the results now. Empty spaces everywhere.

On what planet do you ensure this? If our new supreme leader says he is off, ceases paying the bills with the club having little or no assets please inform me how you will ensure the club exists? There is little or nothing that could be done. No assets to secure funding to. It's laughable to suggest the trust carries such importance. The trust exists because we all gave a load of money when the shit hit the fan and for that money we have seen Barry and no someone other 'fan' sat at home games having a jolly and little else.

The more I read the more I see it as a little club for a few super fans to get a bit of info and a pat on the back. If the trust rep on the board is or becomes an employee of the club it is a disgrace.

How is it a club for super fans?!?! They have literally told you to come on board, help, share ideas etc - it’s not exclusive ffs.

Carry on as you are trust, let us know if Brooke does take the job, then we can look to put someone else in his position.
