Holloway in the programme this week said he doesn't speak much English, and have seen another player say it too, can't remember who.

Only time I spoke to him, he pronounced everything clearly and spoke well..

but fair play not just an assumption you’ve took it from programme ??

We were more solid last season because the pitch was a mess and the opposition would have to hoof it which was bread and butter for us especially Gerard who doesn’t lose much in the air. Factor in that we never got many men ahead of the ball and we had a keeper in inspired form and there’s your reason.

im not comparing us to them but it’s the same reason why City concede so many goals and Burnley don’t, it’s how many men you commit ahead of the ball which helps you create chances as you overload the opposition but conversely when play breaks down    Then you’re outnumbered defensively.

Granted we’ve been poor at set pieces compared to last year but we’re all getting value for money entertainment wise and isn’t that what we wanted rather than 0-1 and 0-2 defeats?

City have conceded less than Burnley this season... so that arguments void? Sentiment is right though.

Correct. A draw in 90 regardless of the penalties that follow will be good enough.

Big game in our road to Wembley. Lets hope Wellens can continue what Sheridan started with a rare clean sheet months ago back in August. Could be a huge point that come tonight.

Be nice to see 3000 there, weather isn't supposed to be great but hopefully the fact it's Newcastle will bring a few through the gates. They've won at Crewe and lost at Port Vale. I'm hopeful we can get the job done tonight, think we'll win, so given that, we should draw.

Let's hope for a decent draw in the last 32.

You’re taking this far too seriously

    Final reminder, you've got a little over 2 hours to get your Bury (h) prediction in;

Appreciate this... I genuinely forgot last two matches, but back on form when I actually predict due to these reminders. 7pts this week, 8pts the last time I predicted.

Just need to find some bloody consistency with predicting now ?

  5. Note the spelling. None of this Dummingham nonsense please.

As a side note though - he's had a real upturn in form, I've seen some critique his performance tonight but I actually think he did a very very good job, where he is outnumbered 2 to 1 each time because we're essentially playing without a right midfielder. That's three games in three that I've seen he's been up there in contention for MOTM just being pipped by other standouts.

Like i say, just thought he deserved a mention because he seems back to his solid best hopefully. Bar the odd slip which he did make in all fairness tonight.

Forgot to post in ny lengthy last one, 700 or so Bury for a local derby.....f##k off....pissed of with these "local derby" wank followings.....we'd have took 2k+.....sooner the likes of Rochdale & Bury arnt our "rivals" the better.....embarrasing turn out again we line their pockets with our great followings at these places and this is what they bring, tinpot black pudding shaggers.......sooner these go under tbe better they've had enough lives now no way they can sustain that wage bill and that smack head Beckford can do one the scruffy fu##er

I think that's enough for tonight.. haha. Enjoy the celebrations, your first post was better taste than this one ;)

Downboat me randomly as much as you like latics22, I don’t give a shit.

Keep seeing this every so often. Ever so slightly weird. I know you've said you don't give a shit... but if I ever see it I'll upboat another post of yours to make up for this one's daftness.

Does anyone know what this lad George does for a living? Swanning about up & down the land following Latics whilst caning the class A's (apparently), they got any jobs going cos he must be earning a wedge?

Why is everybody bad mouthing him saying that he's on the gear? People making assumptions on the basis of absolutely nothing. I don't know the lad so I ain't gonna speak about him and presume these things when he might have family members/friends on this board.

From what I can see we just have a hugely passionate fan, some might say a little mad - you have to be to watch us up and down the country, and he'll sometimes go overboard with the gesturing. Fairplay to him though and he'll learn the hard way in terms of being kicked out for silly avoidable stuff.

Free entry for under 16's tomorrow, just turn up at the turnstile, no ticket needed (any already purchased will be refunded)

    https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/2017/october/23102017-under-16s-free/

WHAT ABOUT SEASON TICKET HOLDERS?! FFS.

... before anyone jumps, I couldn't actually care less - great idea. Do we even make much money off under 16s anyway? Lets just always make it free, they spend shitloads on food and sweets.

  10. If they can both get game time together, that will benefit us hugely. These two do need to be brought into the first team set up at some point soon.. the best thing we've done now is take Gerrard out of the 3 at the back.

Wilson Clarke and Bryan (Bryan especially) will provide the back 3 with enough pace compared to what we was getting crucified by teams with earlier in the season.

But stott and/or edmunson can definitely provide cover for the two either side of clarke, Gerrard should really only come into the side if Clarke gets a knock.
