and we're their successors an upgrade?
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Pretty much everyone at the time was happy enough with wellens after the run we went on. I'll give you bunn, typical Barry idea.

He's sacked 3 managers and appointed 2 who were both a downgrade to the incumbent who was here when he got here and started meddling in his job.
How confident are you he will get this next appointment right? Personally I have very little if any. Even he does he will interfere and meddle in it.
All 3 of those calls to sack were right IMO...….

I've said before that i didn't think FB was good enough, certainly at this moment. This season and next are crucial. If we don't get out of this league (the right way), we'll keep slipping. For all the problems FB might have faced, I never saw him improve tactically. If anything his decisions became more baffling as time went on. Now I'm not saying he was doing a poor job but i wanted to see some progress, signs he was improving as a manager. I didn't see any. January is crucial, we need a (capable) replacement in quickly and they need to be given the chance to improve the squad.

Whoever applies Lemsagam will make the wrong decision or interfere and shag the whole thing up.
We are an absolute baskett case and a shining example of how not to run a football club.
Always look on the bright side eh?

IMO Bunn has got to take the blame for that, all 3 subs were wrong...

A starter for 10.
See if we can tempt fat Ronaldo out of retirement as well.

Weren't we going to shred Anthony Gerrard for pace?
We only attempted it once and we scored....

We're devoid of everything a good team should have...

Surely a relief for those onboard.

I'm not saying I'd put money on it but I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility.
I think we have been getting on the front foot we're just massively lacking quality, consistently and rub of the green.
That can come and come quickly if things suddenly click..
Maybe. The way we play just doesn't give me any confidence. The fact Iverson always looks to go short is fine, good even, but it always ends up with the cbs launching it forward. When we have it down the wing and put the cross in, there's hardly ever more than one man in the box. Add to that the fact he'll be stood in the middle needing the perfect cross to score. Almost all our crosses go to the front post but there's never a man there. No one making that run from midfield. There's so much more and I know you can make points like this with every manager good or bad. But the sheer number of these issues worries me. As does his inability to change our approach. Take the Carlisle match. If you asked every bugger on here what gerrards biggest weakness was, they'd say he's a fat sod and he can't run. Yet we persisted with hoofballing it to cog and surridge. The one time we scored was a through ball to surridge, out paced gerrard and scored. We never tried it again. If you can chalk this down to confidence or that he's doing the best in the circumstances then fair enough. But for me, under bunn, we're just too poor, we're simply not good enough to get anywhere near the top.

I'll answer - we looked like we were going to get something going on the back of decent wins at Grimsby and Morecambe. Yes I know they're both shite but we've become used to losing to such shite over the years. There was a clear
plan away from home to keep it very tight then finish teams off late on and it was working to a great extent. It can again.
He seems to be being dealt a shit hand by Abdallah but doesn't seem to be playing the victim - I like that. I think that's partly down to his age/maturity and his love for the club, partly down to a desire not to fail/let Abdallah grind him down.
He's getting a tune out of Miller who looked an awful signing.
Surridge back in, who he signed, might well see us back on track quickly. He might find others of similar quality come January.
Yes, it's all gone to shit of late but, we've already seen more from Bunn than we ever did from, eg Kelly, Robinson, Dunn....
He's still only two or three wins away from having us back in with a chance of something again.
That said, I think he needs them quickly to stop AL pulling the trigger...
Playing the way we do away from home would be fine in league 1 where there's quite a few teams that can hurt you. But we should be looking to get on the front foot (home & away) in this division. This squad is absolutely capable of finishing top 5. With bunn in charge, I just can't see it.

We have no idea what to do with the ball when we have it. Adding fane lad to the mix ain't going to help.
Though a midfield duo of the missile and fane would be a laugh, I suppose.

Indeed but at least you’ll have given them a chance. Many people wanted Royle gone after the 83/4 season, within a few years those same people were begging him to stay when City came calling. Kowenicki is right about one thing, the fickleness of fans. It was ever thus but I stand by my assertion that changing your manager every 5 minutes doesn’t work. People on here are bemoaning the fact that we’re 30 places or whatever below Accrington without asking why that might be.
I think you can tell when a manager has something about them...

You almost got the point there for a change. A third of a season is not enough. I’d like to be pointed in the direction of a club that’s successful pursuing a policy of sacking managers every 16 games. Conversely there are loads of examples of clubs being successful with low managerial turnover.
If you have 5 managers in 20 years but they're all garbage you're not going to get anywhere.

Statistics show that more goals are conceded from open play than from set piece plays. This season Latics have conceded 9 in the league conceding 5 from open play, 1 from a penalty, and 3 following corners.
Interestingly 2 of the 3 goals we conceded on Saturday were following corners...despite bringing everyone back
We didn't clear either of those 2 though, did we? Maybe we can somehow sneak some subs in to help.

Fair point but any clearance will go straight to the opposition and we are immediately under pressure again
Its a game of percentages. Are we more likely to concede from a set piece or from any resultant piece of open play.

If he's to get it right it has to be someone he actually wants. You get the feeling with Bunn he did it for the fans.
