Firstly I want to make it clear I was firmly in the "WHAT HAS CORNEY DONE" camp after this appointment.... As some of you read yesterday I wanted to know how LJ got in the door for an interview after 120 applications, realistically 50 must have had more experience than Lee. Well turns out Lee didn’t apply...... If you don’t already know LJ has been Fas tracked with the help of the FA into this role, and if your SC and you receive a call from Kenny Dalglish telling you this kid is good, SC would be stupid not to listen. I was very impressed with LJ, he instantly picked up on the teams major issues and wasn’t afraid to name names, he didn’t jump to the defence of the players and he highlighted problems that he could fix quickly. I never heard this once from PD. For me he is 2 or 3 levels above PD and even if we go down I am confident he knows what he is doing to bring us back. We are were we are because of the 36 games previous and my still criticise SC for waiting so long to goodbye to PD and waiting 8 games to replace him. Its now over to the new gaffa and more importantly the players to turn up, show a desire to win, a desire to take a risk and a desire to have a go. I hope they realise that if they go down not to many clubs will be interested in them. Simon Corney You need to realise the fans keep your business going so yes their opinion you may not like but if you continue to alienate the fans you have no were to go. You walked into the meeting on the defensive and it showed. We/I have been critical of you for the lack of information that you share, once you relaxed into the meeting yesterday I felt you shared some really useful information with the group, however this needs to be made available to everyone. SC confirmed there were several managers offering to do the job for free! So this is not a cheap option. I think the group understood why you hired LJ and for the good of the club I hope it works. So far I think that Latics fans have been pretty patient with Corney.....but will a time come when fans turn and chants of "Sack the board" and "you dont know what you're doing" start? Yes he saved us 10 years ago but where have we gone from there........? What are the positives of his 10 years with the club?

My comment wasnt in relation to losing 1 game.....this was about our tempory manager not leading us into battle...

TP has clearly stated he doesnt feel comfortable or want the job. At a time when we need togetherness and an "in it together" attitude I really think SC needs to appoint someone ASAP..... I do not buy this if it isnt broke dont fix it.....it is broke we are 4th bottom.... We run the risk of indiscipline (already happened with Deano) becoming more frequent as players will think they can push TP around. Sort it out before we get cut a drift. Thoughts

I have it from a friend of Paul Scholes that he has had a meeting with Corney. Only a chat at this stage and the discussion included that Nicky Butt would come in as his number 2. Hope its true!!

Firstly I would love to see TP given an opportunity to manage OAFC, however we all need to be very very careful what we wish for.... Question - Has anyone had a bigger impact on this football club than TP in the past 10 years?? In my opinion no....He not only has brought through good players for our first team but more importantly brought players through that have been sold for huge profits many not ever pulling on the first team jersey. Can we afford to risk losing the supply of good quality kids into the first team squad or kids that we sell...?? If we didnt have those profitable sales we would probably be a league 2 club, the FA Cup run like this year does not come around year in year out. Thoughts?

Considering 1 is an international with Premier League experience and the other has non league experience I would rather have Matty any day. I have watched the game a couple of times plus the MK games and CI didnt try and bring the ball down and bring others in to the game just tried cute head ons that went no where.... On the other hand Matty brought the ball down brought people into the game, created chances, proved a threat and obviously scored..... Thoughts?

Its nearly 2 weeks since PD left the club (thank god) however the lack of drive to really begin the recruitment process is worrying.... Doesnt he agree the longer that the longer the manager has in position the better chance we have of staying up and protecting his business/investment thoughts....?
