  1. From what i heard last night Rooney should sign next week! Just waiting for the Pfa to confirm a few things. Source Adam Rooney
  2. What is the criteria for becoming a charity?? If Palyershare became a chairty then they could claim the tax back that we pay at source. No idea if its possible. I know alot of sports clubs become charities for this very reason.....the pot would grow between 22-40% dependant on the tax bracket of the donators
  3. I would rather see the limited budget we have left (LJs words) go on 2 CBs and Rooney.
  4. I tell you now we will not sign a right back.....LJ said today 1 signing possibly 2, 1 Loan centre half and the latvian. PS - Why would you give a pay increase to a player that the club had the option on (money already agreed) who isnt your 1st choice RB, thats called wasting your budget.
  5. Why do you think he will sign a new RD?? He just offered our first choice right back a new 1 year deal and increased terms and also confirm that he wants CW to move into that position......
  6. Get a life!! the boy is having a laugh
  7. I really dont understand the :censored: that Connor Brown gets on here...... Last season he was targetted as the weak link but his last 10-15 games i thought he really stuck up for himself and showed promise....away at Swindon for example every tackle he made 2 or 3 players came over to high five him. I think the team believes in him. The gaffer clearly likes him as he didnt have to give him a payrise he could have just kept him on the same money and just given him the 1 year option we had. Lets get behind the boy and see if he can become a man rather than getting on his back from day one of the new season.... Anyone who thinks after offering him a new deal and increased money we are going to sign another right back is clueless.
  8. Legend just retweeted @welcome to oafc and replied to me saying he will try and tweet in english from now on
  9. The council gave the land purchase price back, did they give all the consultants fees back, environmental surveys, architects fees, structural consulants, planning permission fees etc etc etc
  10. Firstly, Agreed 90% of our history we have made a loss but in the past 4 years I think that loss has only been very small. Secondly, SC didnt buy the club to lose money either which was my original point! I believe he is looking to break even and he will be happy at that. However I do believe that aspects of profit like the fa cup run or the odd transfer deals finds its way back to SC and not the club which his SC right, I just dont like it.
  11. But how much of that loss is to do with the Failsworth :censored: up....???
  12. Do we lose money??? Over the past 4-6 years I dont see how we have! Lets look at the facts, SC is a good businessman, would he contunue to lose money year in year out for no reason! My answer is no, I dont believe he is crazy wealthy has millions to sink into the club. Oldham hasnt owed money to HMRC which is the first thing you dont pay if your struggling. The budget gets cut every year in line with falling attendances We make a little cash most years on Transfers My feeling is we are at a break even point for football, the only way we actually lose more is through the stadium redevelopment work, architects fees etc but the Club shouldnt be paying for this Brass bank should as its their land.
  13. I dont remember to many having a go about Ben Amos being to young.....
  14. We are only in this because of the kids season ticket offer
  15. I bet the boys agent was on the phone to every club in the north west trying to get him trials for this week.
  16. agreed on the stand being part of Brassbank, but didnt expect the gym memberships, conference rental, etc to go to Brassbank soley, not after all the talk of the club needing these revenue streams. The club needs it in SC view just so he doesnt :censored: off
  17. This is my point..... only passing on the information that i have been given.
  18. there is no benefit to the club, he cant come out and say im building a new stand to benefit myself can he. Untimatly if someone comes in to buy the lot his asset is worth more with the stand than it is now, however the actual club will not see any increased revenue from the stand apart from if more people turn up
  19. No not like today where the club rent the space out. This will all be run from a seperate business which will own the stand. So no rent coming into OAFC. This seperate business will own it all and the club will not receive anything apart from the gate, which SC thinks will increase with the better facilities. SC is trying to make his money back, the conference room will hold between 300-400 people and you can charge a very good hourly rate for this. However the club will not see the money, but the clubs staff will run it.... THIS IS FACT this is not a made up rumour
  20. I have been told from someone inside the club that OAFC will not own any part of the new shand, yes you will say none of BP is owned by the club, however I am talking about whats in the stand, like the conference room, the bar, the offices, the gym and what ever else goes in will be owned by another business that is not Oldham Athletic 2004 Ltd (or whatever it is) Basically all the new revenue streams will be going to Corney and his old chums. The only increase in revenue to the club will be from punters and the boxes but you could see Corney ring fencing some of them for himself if they are all sold. Does Corney charge the club rent at present?
  21. Im sick of hearing this comment.....In the past 10 years how many football clubs have gone to the wall and closed down.......if you count Scotland...1 Gretna The club would go into administration and someone would buy the club for a pound. Someone would buy it they always do look at every club that has gone into administration. Mr Corney and the other 2 who pissed off bought the club for 1 reason, a land deal. Deal to the economic climate thats gone tits up and thats why 2 of them :censored:ed off quickly. I just want honesty from the club, why not say the directors are owed 5m and when we get it back we will sell BP. So we took 1m from the FA Cup run to pay that off, we took the 80k from Deane Smalley going to Oxford and Neal Eardley going to Blackpool and took it off the debt. JUST BE HONEST CORNEY
