Surprisingly Abbott wasn't a massive earner (well similar to any other senior player). He was offered better money in Scotland but wanted to stay in England.

In terms of wages? I'm doubt Xanthi would be able to offer too much more. Just looking at their ground - a capacity of 8,000 suggests that they probably don't create that much more revenue than us. Might be wrong, but a return back North might suit.....

No doubt I'll get shot down with this, but what about Nathan 'Duke' Ellington? Not sure about the contract situation, but has had a hard time of it at Watford and has been shipped off to Xanthi in Greece. Would be a quality signing, we'd just need to get in there first....

Holdsworth at RB and Lee at RM would make one of the best right flanks in the division if you ask me....baring in mind that we're likely to keep Smalley and Millar, there's little point keeping Lomax as, with Black and Jacobson available at LB, I can't see him being anywhere near the team. Cheap or not, there's no point keeping him.

think he's done okay, but needs to improve his fitness.....
