Fair point.

Is the Webmonkey doing the official webpage updates....does he actually come from Oldham? Can't spell any of the alternative site Ferny Field, Cole Pit Lane, Biel Valley...jeez.
-
Morecambe
Long term injured aswell isn't he?

it's not been that well advertised has it? I though the new marketing guru would have paid £thousands for a sixty second slot on Granada in the Coronation Street advertisement break?
-
They can't be that skint. I mean, who else has £60k to piss up a wall on players like Joe Colbeck?
-
oh yeh, skipped over jacobsons name there.
-
so who is playing CB with Gregan....or is it just three at the back, six in midfield and the heff up top on himself?

If we are looking to Worthington to save us we are in big trouble. There is a reason that Huddersfield let him and Parker go. We need a bit of class in midfield. Kilkenny gave us that, Wellens gave us that. We've been lacking ever since.
Not disputing that, just saying that at least if Worthy had been playing, at least Kilkenny would have known about it. A big kick in the 1st minute, and he might not have pulling the strings quite so much. As it was, Whittaker was powerpuff at best and Furman was a rabbit in the headlights - not for the first time this season.
-
That will be my second home game of the season.
What a fan you are....
-
It's fair to say, that we're missing Jon Worthington more than I thought....at least when he was in the middle with Furman, you knew you were gonna get a few tackles in. Whittaker has got worse as the season's progressed.

webmonkey, is taylor definately out or is it an attempt at reverse psycology?
Definately out.

Attended by Gazal, Newton, Corney, Hill and Blitz....roll out the big guns!

Are the proposals going to be properly unveiled at the meeting ?
Not sure that they are, more of a Q&A I thought....(i.e. just like the Radclyffe event, but actually in FW this time).

How did Oldham (MBC,s finances) get into this state?
I would suggest that Oldham has a higher unemployment and dependant rate compared with other Borough's, so there's fewer people paying Council tax (i.e. paying into the system), but more people 'taking out' of the system (i.e. through Council and housing benefits etc.) compared to other towns...that's why Oldham has one of the highest Council tax rates in the UK. So nevermined Lib Dems fixing the increase at 2.5% - its still nearly double what more affluent towns pay.

They're not presuming your Muslim - they're just wishing you a Happy Eid.
But you wouldn't celebrate Eid unless you were a Muslim?

I was following wardlelatic's advice to "watch this space" about a meeting for fans to ask questions about the proposed development, but the space seems to have disappeared.
How so?

I see that the Chron reports the size as being 30 acres. Just Googled 30 acres and an answer says that this is the size of 30 football fields... is this correct?
no, incorrect. a full size pitch would be circa 1.5 acres, although your general point is right....30 acres is massive - which strengthens, AH's point. Someone find a similar sized vacant site in 'central' Oldham.

Beckett got 24 in 36 for us. I'd take that from any loan striker.
Exactly. For some reason, since he departed, people seem to think that he was crap....which he clearly wasn't. Worked hard and scored goals.

anyway, back to the Parker topic, I thought he played really well today when he came on, a good variation of crosses, most of em dangerous. Would start him there next game tbh. Not saying that Smalley played particularly bad, but thought Parker looked more dangerous - is that because he came on against tired legs?...difficult to say.

However, it turned into a very enjoyable game, easily a close runner-up to the Dongs match. In fact the only thing it was missing was a late winner for us.
Yeah, best game at BP for a good while, slow first half, but 2nd half performance (admittedly against 10 men) was good and we could easily have nicked all 3 points...

I remember my first season 92/93 watching us win 4-1, 4-2, 5-3, 6-2, and still be near the bottom of the league. You couldn't argue about the entertainment back then could you..
Typical "Bowl-come-lately".....

Oh yeah, I remember that. I think there were more than two Saints fans on the pitch too. I got that train which was lain on by the club, took bloody ages to get back, and sat somewhere around Leamington Spa for what seemed like hours at one point. Think we got home at about 4am in the end.
The walk back to the station was brilliant. "Tell me ma, me ma..."
Snap, seems like only yesterday....had to have the day off from School to go down....and the day after!

Swap Serrant for Armstrong and Gregan for Hill and you've got my team.
Wouldn't have said that 'Armstrong' was a bargain though....didn't we end up losing money on him?

dish and bowl are like the chuckle brothers...
Woah! Don't bring me into it!!

Is that the one from the half way line when the keeper was expecting the cross....his celebration including the invisible walking stick?
