    Because the perception is, rightly or wrongly, that Darren and co have put them on salaries way above what they will get if they moved away and so they are likely to be happier sitting on the sidelines. there may be some truth in that.

    Now I have been the biggest critic of these players for some time and others seem to be seeing the light now with a lack of posts trying to claim that are better than their league position. They are not. Some muppet suggested McGahey was a good player a few weeks ago. but to suggest that are relegation fodder is probably a step too far

    Don’t believe they are the only options. There is a third which is to allow him to shape the team over time in order to manage our finances effectively. Give him 2 years to do that. Evolution not revolution. not to say that’s what I want but it is an option. Probably means at least one more season where struggle to make an impact at the top of the table

    It’s simple. A team containing Sheron and McGahey won’t ever be enough to finish above 10th.

    These players are a disgrace. I despise them to a man. They have everything they want. I knew they would let us down. Never trusted them as a group. They believe they are better than they are. No passion or urgency in anything they do. i am so angry.

    One of the biggest disappointments for me is that we haven’t had any good loanees. The loan market has served us well over the last twenty years and without it, we’d have been in the NL a lot sooner. I am not particularly comfortable with having a team full of players on 2-3 year contracts at our level. It’s extremely high risk. to give corney credit, he was a shrewd operator. Appears we don’t have this trait within the club anymore.

    Don’t think Mellon will recover from this - same goes for the players. It must have done some damage. To blow it in the manner we have should see him given his p45. Needs to happen asap.

    Fuck me, are we really putting a combination of Fane and Byrne out there as the benchmark. We got relegated with that combination. We are so starved of any quality that we don’t have any reference points any more. In fact, I don’t think we know what good and effective looks like.
