  1. Things change, get used to it. To suggest an empty chaddy end contributes to our woeful home form is desperate.
  2. But he scored 6 goals. He scored 6 goals. I mean why won’t you acknowledge that he scored 6 goals.
  3. I agree it ain’t just sheron. An Oldham team with me in it can get in the playoffs if we have the players around me to carry me. point is that Sheron is currently our Mike Milligan. The guy we rely on to run the midfield and be at the heart of everything. That goes a long way to explaining why we are near as damn it midtable as far as I am concerned. Granted the players around him have not risen to the occasion.
  4. Wow. I mean, wow. You do know that scoring a few goals and being a liability are not mutually exclusive don’t you.
  5. Without his goals. as in with him in the team, we would be 12th if he hadn’t scored as many goals. yes I accept that. but we are 9th, not 4th partly because he is in the team. I don’t expect you to understand that but have a go chap.
  6. And yes. You are right. Without his goals we would be say 12th. But I am not looking for players who can make the difference between 12th and 9th. I am after players who can get us into the playoffs. He ain’t that
  7. We don’t know the others need replacing yet. underwhelming and disappointing as conlon, lundstrum have been, the jury remains out on them. the jury is not out on sheron. well not in my view. i believe we need to replace him to get anywhere. I am not willing to say that about the other two above
  8. It counts. But I’d rather he did his job which is make the midfield difficult to penetrate. Scoring the odd goal doesn’t come close to compensating for his limitations in actually doing what he is in the team to do. He is the only midfielder who has had a clear and consistent brief over a prolonged period and who has been given a fair crack at delivering that brief over two seasons. He’s at the heart of a team that has failed
  9. That’s a secondary benefit and not what he should be judged on. He is at the heart of a midfield that gets walked through with ease and dominated every week, almost without fail
  10. Yeah I get that. But he and hogan are our rocks. Those players with experience and occupying a position which is so critical to the team. Think Mike Milligan. You need your Mike Milligan to be of a certain standard to get anywhere. Jury is out on lundstrum and conlon. They haven’t been here long enough to make a call as to whether they are up to it. sheron on the other hand absolutely has to be replaced. That doesn’t mean he is the worst player. It doesn’t mean he can’t be player of the season. He may be. But he needs to go if we are to progress. I can’t really say that so definitively about any other player the fact that he and McGahey haven’t been replaced explains our league position. It’s as simple as that
  11. We finish outside the playoffs next season if Nathan sheron is running it. Simple. You can’t put a player of his quality at the heart of the team and expect the playoffs.
  12. He has contributed more than any other. But he opitimises this team and is at the very heart of it. That’s why we are not good enough
  13. Many like sheron. I can see why. But we won’t achieve anything with him in the team regularly.
  14. Buck stops with royle. Frank brings the money
  15. Takes mellons historic track record away from it and he would be getting the same treatment as unsworth from fans. I think we look as bad as we did under unsworth. I see zero difference
  16. Eh. So we have over achieved? Is that what you are saying? You do realise that mellon or unsworth were not the extent of our choices don’t you?
  17. But there is no chance royle will be under any pressure whatsoever. I fear for the future with him at the helm
  18. Great. I think it better to judge him over the season than
  19. He brings something to the team and probably deserves to start. That’s the problem
  20. Lundy and sheron should be no where near the starting lineup
  21. I’d get rid of mellon. To make zero progress over more than 30 games is criminal.
  22. 6 weeks ago it looked like we would finish fourth. I have just tuned in today to listen to the game only to find out it finished about an hour ago. That speaks volumes. I don’t think I have ever felt this low about Latics and that’s saying something. Yes yes I get we are in a better place off the pitch but that’s not offering me a lot of comfort right now. This is an emotional response rather than necessary a rational one
