During radio commentary yesterday it was mentioned that, with Arsenal this season, we jointly hold the PL record for the most goals scored in a season from corners.  Remarkable if true!

Unfortunately we've not even looked like scoring any the past season due to a lack of movement, desire and a Rick Holden or Neil Adams.

You are right, Crawley identified a player on his statistics, but scouted him and noticed he could be better played in another position. He turned out to be one of their top players.

I'm a way an analysist might do the same with Will Sutton and find he's best at centre back.

Sutton won't progress unless he learns to push up in a straight line !

I thought he did just about OK when played at right back until he tried to do things he wasn't capable of.

Don't try to beat a man just practice knocking balls into the box first time.

Upper level golf courses certainly would, thet don't want occasional hackers holding up the courses.  In any event it's no fun for an occasional player to pay a big green fee to play a course that's beyond their abilities

Put me down if it's crazy golf.  😁

Used to be on Union St in Oldham and eventually became the Buck and Union.

Used to drop an old chap there an odd time called Mansell ? I think.

He used to put his ciggy behind his ear when he played crib and his hair was yellow with nicotine !!

ps Can't remember what I had for tea last night !  😄

For those of you may have questions, grievances, or who's emails haven't been answered  😉

Looks like the club is stepping up its communication. Some may say that they possibly should have done that earlier but maybe it was best to let the dust settle on this season before they did any of that. I doubt it will turn into the Royton Cricket Club show stopper and nor should it either but it does give the opportunity to ask any burning questions some might have.

It's completely different. Roughyeds in their division is the equivalent of sticking Burnley in the National League. They're streets ahead of them all and they've recruited players ready to step up next season. Promotion is as good as in the bag already for them...

Correct, I know people who've bet they'll be undefeated in the league !!

Good luck to them they ( like us ) deserve some.

Can anyone help me on understanding the EFL's or FA's reasoning on this?

Why should non league clubs lose promising young players for nothing?

One thing that may help is all leagues be brought under ther EFL structure, for example the NL becomes EFL division 3 and NLN/S become EFL division 4 North and South - all the way down the chain.

Won't happen of course as too many vested interests with the bumbling FA the worst of all.

I'm a dinosaur, but maybe the days of risky hedge funders owning football clubs will change back to the days of boards with several local businessmen chipping in. Hopefully Frank can be joined by a few more like him.

Sadly I think that boat's sailed in this country as the Premier League has inflated the cost of assembling a decent team way too far beyond the funds availed from what's left of our local businessmen and the national and multi-national businesses just aren't interested in sponsoring teams at out level or just above.

    Unfortnately Frank is a "one off".......thabkfully though he's our "one-off" !!  🫱

That’s a bit harsh as he either wasn’t selected or was injured most of the season. He was fit and selected for a few games at the end of the season because he was one of the only few players that were actually trying, and here we see someone interpreting that effort as “playing for a contract”. Wow! A good example of being a loyal supportive fan.

You can't escape the fact that it looks a bit suspicious as he "recovers" from injury as the season is winding up though !

FWIW I'd retain him on a pay as you play basis.

I'd be looking at the likes of  Manchester City u21s for a couple of dynamic loanees, we've been offered them in the past (I know because I was asked to scout them), but not followed up only to go to EFL clubs and do well.

Absolutely no chance of City's U21's going on loan to non league.

Championship or League 1 at least.

I'm actually optimistic about next season, with about 8 players  (including loanees) brought in who are young and determined there's no reason they can't do much better than the half hearted failures who will leave.

This providing the manager let's them off the leash to attack rather than defend.

    Me too.

It's puzzling why Atherton wasn't brought into the squad, when available, to fill Green's boots unless Mellon was trying to prove a point ( a bit like Shez did naming 3 subs a couple of years ago !).
