Give the captaincy to Dan Garder played his heart out again.
Not sure he'll be playing on Monday.

If we get a performance resembling anything like that of last Sat, think its going to turn very very negative, (even more so than some fans are feeling currently). We need to pull a performance out of somewhere, which can happen with this team and hopefully today is one of those days.
Graeme Souness (podcast) used to tell one of his players back in the day, if they were under the cosh, losing or game was dead, that one of them put in a massive tackle (fair or otherwise) or to start a ruckus to get the fans involved and galvanise the team, anything to gee them up. Not a bad idea, within reason of todays standards, so many home games this season there has been nothing to shout about, a bit of commitment or passion from the players may at least keep the fans motivated to stay with them so to speak.
True but it can work both ways.
This was epitomised in the Liverpool v Arsenal match last season when the away team were cruising it at 2 nil only for Xhaka to needlessly "pick a fight" with Trent Arnold which galvanised a sleepy Kop and turn the match around.
I'm convinced Arsenal would have gone on to win the match and the title had Xhaka not tried to play the hard man !

I am going to post this against my better judgement, do I think it will happen not really. But I hope so . I actually dreamt we stuffed Flyde 6-0 Norwood 4 , Conlon,Raglan, Fondop . Yes i have pretty detailed dreams occaisionally which have come true in the past . Not many as far retched as this lol . But I thought I would post this .
Did we get one disallowed ?

TBF he always gives his all and can cover several positions, just because he’s signed a new deal doesn’t mean to say he’ll be a definite starter.
He’s good enough to be in the match day squad!
Ideal sub as he can play any position in a back 3 or 4.

It is a very poor return from our defenders indeed. Peter Clarke was always at the end of corners and scored quite a few. In earlier years players like Richard Jobson always added to the goal tally.
Clarke always attacked the ball instead of trying to wrestle defenders to the ground !!

How long has Mellon been England's manager ??

They're too busy checking whether the ball is overhanging the line of the quadrant. Nothing persOnal - but I think it's a daft idea!
Wouldn't be the first one I've had but watching players wrestling in the six yard box isn't my idea of football !
It amuses me when players obviously time wasting when taking corners are assisted by supporters pleading for the ball to be moved 10 cm.

The keeper would claim everything
Depends where the corners went. It would certainly encourage them to try to claim most corners but attackers would be allowed to enter the six yard box after the corner's been taken, just not loiter there wrestling with defenders all the time.
Most goalies would think twice about coming for corners landing around the penalty spot.

Imagine enforcing that! They can't even enforce the rule on encroaching into the box at penalties!
Would give the linesman something to do, they never signal any fouls.
It'd be fairly simple to ensure no attackers are in the six yard box at the point the corner's taken surely.

Agreed it'd be a shame if he's packed it in.
I didn't disagree with most of his posts........just the repetitive nature sometimes.

I'm not sure which thread it belongs on, but the goalscoring return from our defenders is pitiful. I think Hogan is the only one to have chipped in this season and he's only got one...
Our defenders just stand around their goalie at most corners instead of starting runs from the edge of the penalty area and making various runs towards goal, or the ball. A little attacking intent movement puts the onus on their defenders to stop us and could result in more penalties instead of the refs dismissing them as "six of one half a dozen of the other".
I still maintain that one of the best rule changes would be to ban attacking players from being in the six yard box as a corner is being taken.

The only time I noticed him releasing it quickly was when Hammond was left upfield and broke quickly ( think it was Kidderminster ?) to exploit his pace.
He consistently just pisses about with the ball when taking dead balls, but he's not the only one !

Yes the voice thing is weird, always sounds like someone else when I hear myself. I sound thick aswell . Although I suppose I am a bit .
I was on a quiz 40 odd years ago on Piccadilly Radio and couldn't believe my accent and how "Northern" I sounded, and a bit thicker than I obviously perceived myself !

There was no foul to show, watch our highlights on YouTube, officials gave a decision for something they didn't see. Crooks.
Seen them and thought the only explanation was their legs tangled. It was certainly soft.

Having watched the highlights again that penalty given against Kitching is as bad as a decision you'll see anywhere this weekend, that liners seen their lad go down and starting waving his flag around, he has seen absolutely nothing there and Kitching has done nothing for their lad to throw himself down like that.
Watched the highlights on Chesterfield's site and they show their penalty from behind the goal but don't show the "foul" leading up to it.
Maybe due to embarrassment or just to mask Roy's comments ?

Gardner definitely was on I was level, as for some of the other decisions by that liner though......
Yes the officials seemed to be as good as each other !

Think I read on here that Norwood was offside when Hogan took the ball off him in the last minute but when I watched the highlights he was clearly onside, as was Gardner for his goal !!

Better performance but they weren’t up for it. Should really have won.
lunstrum still the weak link. Conlon much better.
Well I actually went and we were the better team and had the better chances.
Thought they all played well though McGahey looked the weakest link.
Lundstram played his part ( put a decent reverse pass into Dallas for the penalty ?), Dallas showed the form he's capable of and Norwood had his best game for us.
You need to go and have a night out with @GKing521 you'd have a soulmate !

Chesterfield are showing the match at their ground on Saturday which could negate the danger of away supporters in home areas.
