Crazy to think he's got any chance at all of taking such a tiny club like Barrow to such great heights and he was definitely the right man for the job here.
Actually cared, he knew the club inside out and had a very good rapport with the fan's,
One that got away instead of the one's you want to get as far away as possible
One of the Lemmy's biggest blunders from a monumental list !!

I'd sooner we sacked all the players than Mellon.

I don't rate him - too weak for this league
He does need to bulk up but is the right age to do so.

An interesting selection from one person to retain Windass.
None I'd keep.

Yet he hasn't dropped Norwood, probably the most underperforming player in the last dozen games.
........... and our leading goalscorer.

I think it’s a clear foul to be honest. They shoved him out the way and played the ball straight into that channel. Still a shit goal to concede.
Should probably have thrown himself to the floor and the dozy ref may have given the foul.

If Sheron had taken and scored all the penalties taken by Norwood how many goals would each have scored this season?
Pretty big hypothetical step taken there BP.

At last you've mentioned the real problem.....
Don't care who you have in midfield if you have no width you have no options.
Get some pace out wide and 2 decent overlapping full backs and Sheron will do just fine winning the ball and/or moving it on to a Conlon or Lundy or passing a simple ball out wide himself.
Our only decent option out wide is Green.
Fact is we've won 2 out of our last 12......Green started in both these games.
We've not won in 8 which corresponds with Green getting injured against Southend and not playing since..
It's not rocket science where the bigger problem lies and why we have fucked up was a good position after winning at Eastleigh....no width or pace and we are too narrow and predictable.
Which begs the question, why hasn't Atherton figured when available ?

Keeping Norwood is a no brainer for me but he needs to be a little less of an "individual" and try to integrate into a team that will be built around him.
Several times yesterday he took on ridiculously speculative shots when a more controlled approach could have been profitable.
Kitching's crossing was again pretty poor, standing up crosses at the far post as if we've got Jim Fryatt lurking in the penalty area !

Great. I think it better to judge him over the season than
I think there's a player in there but we need a decent midfielder playing alongside him not a centre half and 2 crocks !

Lundy and sheron should be no where near the starting lineup
Lunds one of our better players today, if you'd have set your alarm better you'd have seen !!

Do we really know what Gardners injury is and can it be treated with a 3 months pre season break?
He's had plenty of breaks mid season the last few years without curing the problem(s).
He is a decent midfielder when fit but can't be relied on. Best he can hope for is a "pay as you play" deal.

1 hour ago, spanishfly said:I`ve been very civil on here Bob but the problem is senile old fools like you making up conspiracy theories about senile old fools like me being the re-incarnation of some previous poster on here. You started having a dig at me early doors by asking did I enjoy my time in Spain or something similar. What I should have told you is this; no I didn't because I spent several years in a nasty Spanish gaol for my alleged part in the importation of large quantities of controlled drugs from Morocco. I was innocent of that too but sometimes life sucks. Does that satisfy your silly conspiracy theory? Give it a rest with your continuing snide comments. Doesn't make you clever or 'ard you know. Or do you yearn to be part of the little "bully" set on here? Make you feel good?
Was implying that you and @GKing521were sharing the bet as your optimism ( if the bet was actually made ) contrasts with his pessimism and it would be a funny alliance.
I may have took your original post the wrong way as I thought you were implying that someone at the club didn't want promotion this season. If you were just saying the bookies has written us off, apologies.
I'm certainly not a bully however and have never implied you had several accounts but did ask if you enjoyed Spain as you didn't seem very happy in this country.

Talking of swinging crosses over….when was the last time we scored from a corner kick? I can’t remember….must have been a while ago!
Our players invariably just mill around the goalie instead of making positive runs to get on the end of crosses.
There's a distinct lack of movement when corners are being taken. Just charging about in every direction would result in more chances being created.

Manchester United use them..Garnacho and Antony.
City often use one.
Argentina won the World Cup with Di Maria.
Not working out well at Old Trafford though !
Playing them on the "wrong" wing seems to be the norm nowadays but they need to have the ability to take full backs on the outside as well now and then, something Antony certainly can't do.

That and other liabilities in their book. Bookies have algorithms rather than opinions these days; the objective of bookmaking is to be profitable whatever the outcome.

I see via someone else's post on another thread that Skybet and BetVictor are currently offering odds of 100/1 (and I have checked myself, it's true) re. Latics to get promoted!
Somebody knows we are not going up for sure, with odds like that.
Ah another conspiracy theorist ?
It just reflects what the bookies perceive as our actual chance of going up given our current form.

Kitching has been turning back for weeks now… he simply will not try to beat the man to get to the byline. It’s weird.Perhaps he's just knackered after chugging up and down the touchline all year. He certainly isn't the player he was earlier this season and seems to have lost a bit of motivation.
One thing I've noticed, and he's not the only one, is he constantly gives the 10 yard pass back to Hogan onto his wrong foot, thus slowing the game down.
It's basics, really lazy and just slows our already ponderous attacks.

Consensus is that either you give a longer contract or more money but we seem to have offered both to some recruits.
