That was done to get the wage bill down in order to be able to sign the likes of Doyle. He didn't exactly do much to keep Bury up did he. I remember lots of people on here saying Clarks legs had gone.

Why didn’t Wellens offer Gerrard instead to Bury. Let’s face it he always finishes the season injured or can’t he be bothered, lazy git. However Gerrard was one of Wellens buddies. No wonder we went down.

  2. Another trouble causer being shipped out. Let’s hope it’s the last bad apple to get thrown away. Problem is who would have him. Nobody wanted him before we signed him and we all know why now. Next player to write another load of shit about the club in a newspaper rag

Dreadful this. Would genuinely snap your hand off for third bottom at this point.

For god sake Ryan do us all a favour and go and support another team. It’s a bloody training exercise. We still won which is more than we did at Curzon last year.

Yep - relegation should be a shared responsibility among all the players.  But we've got rid of the manager who bought in some of the players that took us down yet we're sticking with the "French Foreign Legion" recruitment strategy that also took us down. You would think if we got rid of one cause for bringing in players that got us relegated, we'd get rid of the other..

How can you blame the French players Wellens never played them. Are you crazy.

  5. Let’s see if they play well again this afternoon. If they do as well as the other night or better then we could have picked up a couple of gems. Technically they are better than other players being  signed by other clubs at this level. The negative comments on this board about them are all coming from people who have not seen them play. Even Baxter has said that he’s amazed at the standard that these players have shown. I don’t know why but there seems to be a big anti French contingent on here. Surely it doesn’t matter where a player comes from provided they are better than what we have got and show better ability on and off the ball when they play.

O'Grady can actually hold the ball and use it, Holloway just wants a wrestling match. When he isn't rolling around on the floor that is.

Hill got the best out of O’Grady at the Dale. He was a goal machine then, however he has lost his confidence since. Maybe Bunn can get that confidence back into him.

Even the very best foreign imports who are Internationals take time to adjust to the game in Britain, very few come over and hit the ground running and I will guarantee you now that these lads will be shocked by the intensity of the football played and physicality in League 2 , look at the YouTube clips of these two and they have been playing in grounds with one stand watched by a couple of hundred people and the chances of them showing anything early doors is remote.

Even more important for me though is the stretch on resources that these signings will place on the club, it's not like they live in Bury or Bradford, these lads will be living in hotels, need to be ferried around and effectively living out of suitcases, it's a massive culture shock for them and will be difficult psychologically more than anything else regardless of what potential and ability they possess.

Communicating instructions and building team spirit amongst all this is going to be near on impossible and Bunn and Rhodes will be wasting half their time fire fighting with an oversized squad coupled with inadequate facilities and resources.

This transfer policy is nonsensical on every level and that's before you even consider AL's piss poor record with regards to the talent he's already 'treated' us too.

At least they are all getting a good preseason to get them up to speed this year. The problem last season that the French imports all came in after the season had started.

At least FB has had a look at them, unlike some loanees who go straight into the first team like Benyu and turn out not  suitable for lower league football

Not many moaned on here I noticed though when Benyu was signed, perhaps swayed by the fact he was a from a major club.

I've seen players come from Sunday league and make the grade and kids from premiership clubs finish up in Sunday league. Let's see how they go.

Love the positivity. I agree with you Wellens signings of Benyu, Pringle, McEleny contributed more to us going down than any French played last season. Nobody moaned about their signings however they where all disasters.

Fucksakes give it a rest now. Getting bored of your posts they are all pretty much the same. Jesus fucking Christ man. Not everything is perfect, nor is everything at the club rosey. Not every player we have is great , not every player that we miss out on is shite and every player that leaves should not be wished good riddance.

I am actually quite positive and looking forward to the new season but you sir take the piss.

Thank you however I am entitled to my opinion and I know who I would rather believe.

Sometimes a player just fits a club.

Maybe we are the club he fits best and gets the best out of him.

I would have him back if it was an option.

Like I said in a previous post it could be who was coaching him that made the difference. Perhaps Rhodes could get his shot stopping back into form again.

I didn't see any, which is why I've not commented on his performances last season. I'm genuinely interested to know exactly how many times you watched him "live" last season to form that opinion. I'm not saying you're wrong in believing he's not up to the mark, but what performances are you basing it on?

I saw him play for Burton against us in a Cup game. I saw him play for Bury against us at Bury and I saw three or four other Bury games in which he didn’t have good games.

Which aspects of his game do you feel have regressed?

His shot stopping was not as good as when he played for us. Maybe it was who was coaching him that made the difference. Under Rhodes he could do well again for us.

He kept Ripley out of their team though didn’t he? One assumes you’d have Ripley back?

Edit: note to self, read all posts before posting. Beaten to do it by Dave_Og

No I wouldn’t on last seasons performances. He was not a patch on the season before when he played for us.
