  1. I'm going to expect a bit of a rollocking for this post, but I was thinking the other day and the sun came through the clouds......... We are a League 1 team. We have League 1 attendances. We have a League 1 ground. We are in League 1. League 1. We deserve to be here. We've been here a while. If we were in the Championship, I think people would be saying the same thing - we want to get in the Prem. Ok, so there's no harm in having ambition, but look at the whole of League 1. Not everyone gets to be promoted. Maybe people just need to accept that we are a League 1 team, that may, eventually, one day, be promoted. But it's about entertainment. As long as we're entertained on our Saturday's at home why are we moaning? League 1 people. Face it. Will be great if we can push for promotion. But accept where we are and where we are likely to be. I have now donned my battle armour.
  2. I closed my eyes and pressed the submit button over the weekend. After lots of umming and ahhing. Financially it's a mistake. I can't afford it. But I simply can't see me not going to every home game anyway, so this way it's cheaper overall. No matter what my intentions may have been of picking and choosing games, I know I won't stick to that. My fella has been going 18 years and this is the first time he hasn't renewed. And he doesn't even seem that bothered. I'm struggling with this!!!!
  3. Well I paid £329 to see the most attractive man on the planet.... Mr Lee Hughes. And then there were the fitties complimenting him, like Crossley and Liddell. And who could resist a bit of Shez??? Oh if only Dowie were still here.......................................................................
  4. Haha, that would be my dad, grumps/optional/Glynn.
  5. Froom Wikipedia-ing him it would appear he was also liked by the fans at Hereford. Hopefully he will be a grafter. Soccerbase shows he doesn't get booked that much either. Another Everton anyone?
  6. He looks cute. So I will be renewing my ST....
  7. What's with all the 'get a grips'???? People are allowed their opinions. Jeez. I for one don't feel like renewing my season ticket. For many reasons. The club is surrounded by negativity. And the fact the players didn't come out at the end of the home game. Cowards. Loads of reasons. Can't get excited about the club anymore.
  8. I am by no means Eardley's biggest fan, but I think he has looked a lot better recently. And as for the scrote whokeeps shouting "Die Eardley die" in the Chaddy, grow up you idiot.
  9. At the risk of bringing this thread back to what the initial subject was.... I have lost my enthusiasm. Never has there been an end to the season where I have actually considered whether to buy a ST. It's a given. I start putting money aside. I don't even think about it. I can't wait for the shiny new ST to be ready and picked up. Looking at the new design. Feeling the book full of games to go to. Wonder who will be sitting aorund us this new season. Wonder what George's new favourite moan will be this year But I booked flights to go to Crete. I'm having a week in the sun. And I don't know if I can find the money to put away. And I'm not overly concerned. Scary. I am an optimist when it comes to Latics. I always believe we can do it. This is always our season. But do you know what? I am sick of forking out all that money to watch players that really cannot be bothered. They are there to earn their wages. Fair enough, most people who work are. But they don't realise just how friggin hard it is in the real world. They get paid to keep fit and do something they love. The rest of us have to do training, work longer hours and get paid no where near the amount they do. It narks me off. So someone, please give me some reasons why I should start counting my pennies and getting excited about my potential new ST. Answers on a postcard please.............. Oh, and as an aside, if ST prices get put up. Probably no chance of me getting one. But I guess that's a separate post topic.
  10. I'd pretty much decided that I was going to go to the Bury game as it's just down the road. However, this has swung it for me!!
  11. Talking about the PRS and the daylight robbery they want to perform for us to be able to play music at BP.
  12. Wasn't one of the main reasons they sacked Moore because fans weren't buying STs and it was hitting the bank balance?
  13. But the cnclusion with the squad that's been assembled should have been taking us to the playoffs at least. The 'natural conclusion' now is mid-table, season wasted. I don't really like calling for people to be got rid of, players or managers, but I'm getting there now! Who knows, maybe people will come back from the game saying we played really well and we can't comment cos we weren't there............
  14. This is a difficult one. I so want to see us promoted, wither automatic (cough) or in the play-offs. Sacking people won't achieve that. But some form of disciplinary action needs to be taken if what's being said is true. If the whole dogs night had been properly thought about, and players told to behave, then we might not be in this position. I agree with Nikki. It's a massive shame this has happened following all the good publicity the club has had for it's efforts for Link4Pink. Time for everyone to grow up and people to take responsibility for their actions.
  15. Yes, most teams are inconsistent. But it's going to bite us in the behind. The games in hand other teams have are going to push us out of the playoffs. I am not a Shez outer or inner, but I can't see the way forward anymore. PLayers fighting amongst themselves, the reputation of the club being laughed at in national press. Something isn't right and it needs fixing. I honestly can't see how we will finish in the playoffs. And with the SQUAD we have, not team, as this season we have a squad, we should at least be in the playoffs.
  16. I don't think Hughes appears drunk in that interview. Everyone can stumble over their words every now and then.
  17. Here's a question, if you smacked a colleague / verbally abused a colleague / got a colleague aggressively in a headlock / walked around with dangly out in the office.......... would you still have a job???????????????????? Edit: And note how I'm naming no names, not implying anyone is telling porkies or setting myself up in any way, shape or form.
  18. Normally I would be with you on this. I don't like people getting on the players backs. I have been known to get into a fair few arguments over it. But Saturday was dross. They deserved the grief they got. But no, it's not the fans fault, and it's not entirely Sheridan's fault. I believe it is the whole clubs fault. All of them. Players and back room staff and management. No single one person is to blame in my opinion.
  19. I never actually asked Alan the confirm or deny. I would not expect him to tell me. I merely mentioned it in case he had been in a bubble and not heard. I may have been a bit naive and assumed with his response that it wasn't true that things had been fine at the dogs. As that is what I would prefer. To be then accused of saying Alan tells lies has made my blood boil. I have never ever spread gossip on this board about things that have gone on in the club. And believe me, I have known a lot. After supporting the club as long as I have, after doing the things I have to help the club and then to be dealt with like this. Well, lets just say on top of the dire display from Saturday has pushed me over the edge. Fuming doesn't even cover it anymore.
  20. I may not have explained myself properly there. Yes Alan Hardy said Gregan did not smack Taylor. And I wouldn't expect him to volunteer any information about what did happen. So to be told the rumours aren't true, but then to find out there were one or two incidents. Well I am beginning to get friggin sick of all this. Same old Latics again and again. Unprofessional. I'm livid now. In no way was I saying Hardy tells lies. I was merely trying to get my thoughts across in a short space of time as I am at work. It appears to me not only are the buildings falling apart, but the relationships and respect within it also. I'm not going to say any more now as I may say something I later regret.
  21. Oh stop sniping about editing and spelling mistakes. I didn't realise we were graded on what we wrote on here. Funnily enough when you get a bit worked up and want to vent something, your fingers may not hit the exact keys they were after. Can people not respond to what someone is writing about, rather than picking petty arguments? It's getting really tiresome. If the players were allowed to get hammered and then have time off it's not acceptable. Saturday was awful. Disgusting. I've been willing to give Shez time, but now I'm not so sure.
  22. I actually came on here because Alan Hardy emailed me on Saturday saying that the rumours about Gregan smacking Taylor weren't true. Now he's quoted in the Mirror. Hmmmm. Not sure what to think now.
  23. Looks like he's spat his dummy out, realised he's screwed himself over and then had to do some grovelling and passing the blame. Typical bloke!
