  1. Exactly. Players at this level are not consistent all of the time.
  2. Again, League 1. If the players got all basic right all the time, they wouldn't be playing for us. I wasn't at the game so I can't comment on their effort, but I think we will have to agree to disagree on you hurling abuse.
  3. Wasn't a go at you personally, I'm just sick of fas picking one player at the start of the game and abusing them all through the game. Even if they start playing better. Everyone has their own opinion on players. One person will like someone, another won't. That's just the way things are. I have no issues with discussions on here, it's the awful treatment the players get during the game that grates for me. And the fact people seem to think we should be playing like Barca. Yes we want to get out of this division, but there's a reason we're in it.
  4. And just to add one more thing while I'm getting things off my chest - this is league 1. You want perfect football, go and watch some money grabbing team.
  5. Eardley is crap. Lomax is crap. Liddel is crap. Taylor is crap. Davies is crap. Make your bloody minds up! Or, actually, I tell you what.... SUPPORT THE TEAM FOR A CHANGE AND QUIT HURLING ABUSE AT THEM DURING THE GAMES.
  6. Abusing players is WRONG WRONG WRONG. I'm not Eardley's biggest fan, I might discuss how I think he could do better, what I think he did that wasn't great. But I never ever ever hurl abuse at any player whilst they are in a Latics shirt playing on the pitch. Time and time again I have used the same comparison - how would you like it if someone stood over you at work telling you that everything you did was bobbins? Everything. You're rubbish. You haven't got a clue what you're doing. You mess everything up. You should be doing this not that. Manager? You're not good enough to be a manager. You're no where near good enough to get paid what you do. You let the whole company down. You are solely responsible. You are crap. What would you do? Think "Ooo, I'd better pull my socks up and please these people?" I don't think so! You'd think "Sod them". Why should I bother? And if any of you here sit in the back corner of the Chaddy to the right of the goal as you're sat there - aren't you hard, as always. Picking out one guy who was sat on his own to have a go at. I wish you lot would go back to where you used to sit because you're doing my head in.
  7. I have a question about Liddell's pens. Isn't it illegal (for want of a better word) to run up, stop and then carry on running before taking the kick? That's what he seems to do.
  8. Now now children, festive cheer, be nice. Ho ho ho.
  9. Well he might hold a grudge against us if that's the case.
  10. Hold a grudge? Too right. He screwed us over.
  11. I'm going to throw a spanner in here..... there have been comments about Hughes not making an effort, expecting balls to be passed to him, no running around.... Isn't that the same with Liddel? I'm not slating him, I'm just saying that's his style of play. Hughes has never been a Warney. But he does score goals.
  12. I agree. The zone is too big. Something needs to be done, but this is the wrong option. A proper public consultation should be held over a long period of time. It should take years to sort something out. You will never make everyone happy, but the whole way this has been done is wrong. Give us the amazing public transport first, like other places, and then we might believe that you can deliver this.
  13. I will hold my hands up, I'm lazy and haven't been reading all this thread, have just read the last 2 pages. Global warming is a natural occurrence, the earth goes through ice ages and then warm phases. It's happened ever since the earth was here and has been proven in ice core and soil sample analysis. Climate change is man made. Climate change is causing global warming to happen at a faster rate than it would do naturally. You could go round and round in circles on this issue. Higher world temperatures equals more moisture in the atmosphere equals more clouds. This should then mean more sunlight is reflected, hence lowering the temperature. Or, you could say more clouds keep warm air closer to the continents and increase the temperature. More heat, more ice and snow melting, higher temps. But then more clouds. Scientists have tried for decades to come up with some type of model to show how climate change and global warming will effect the earth, but noone knows 100%. There are too many variables. However, can you honestly say that the con charge is being brought in to reduce climate change? NO! It's so they can get more money off people. If they were that bothered about climate change then they would have put money aside to invest in public transport without having to take out a huge loan and making people pay an extra tax. Councils have had to sign up to reduce carbon emissions, as forced by government. And they aren't doing very well. I voted no, and I'm all for the environment.
  14. The rumour is that Eardley has been sold for a fair amount of cash (obviously to be revealed in Jan) and part of the deal is he doesn't play so he can't be injured.
  15. I have my season ticket, and if it wasn't for that I don't think I could afford to go to all home games. I'm having to pick and choose away games. I have a Northern Rock mortgage and am in negative equity. My priority is my mortgage. The roof over my head. My job appears to be secure, but I work for a construction type company and there have been people laid off. Luckily we're more involved with non-domestic construction, so haven't been directly affected yet. But that's not to say it won't come through. People are just trying to be careful. People have priorities. In normal times Latics would be near the top, but we're in for a struggle so things have to give.
  16. oafc0000 - what do you do with your paper when you've read it? How many holidays do you go on in a year? Do you go on a plane? Do you leave things on standby in your house? Do you have a compost bin? Do you have a water butt? Is your loft insulated? Is your real reason for voting YES that you're doing it for environmental reasons? I class myself as an environmental person, and I'm voting NO. I agree we need better public transport. I do think we need a congestion charge, but only in the centre of town. Not at the M60. I live in Bury and work in Blackburn, so my journey won't be affected. So you may see me as selfish. The public transport as it is is not managed correctly. I have been assualted on a bus before, a full bus, and nobody did a thing. Therefore I do not feel safe on public transport. So it's my choice not to use it. Benefits to Bury are very little. The bus service is fine as it is. The tram is over used and lacks park and ride facilities. If I had seen proper plans of how parking for tram use would be increased then I may have voted differently. And as for that little nobble of charging zone they have brought in around Simister.... well that's just cheeky. A hell of a lot of people will get caught with that. Other areas have brilliant public transport without having to pay an extra tax. Why is it differen't for us? 3 people in my house voted NO.
  17. Exactly, we could do a Blackpool. That stand would have been eating a fair amount of money. Not just water, electricity, but heating as well in the bar. Believe it or not there was a frost thermostat, it would have been coming on for fun recently. Then there's the maintenance. Replacing light fittings, repairing dripping taps. Also cleaning. Disposal of rainwater to the drain from the roof. Bar staff wages. (Obviously minus any profits got from the bar) I think as well that it gave a signal to the fans and people of Oldham that the club were serious about actually moving along with the development. Things just got a bit tough with the housing. I personally think they did the right thing.
  18. Notice I did say wrist... I know what you lot are like! I work in the construction side of things, so I assumed from this article that the company used for designing the new ground and any contractors involved may have been told that this is the case, but it's more of a solid thing if it's coming from them. I did a review for Latics earlier on in the year to advise on how to save money by reducing bills and other eco warrior type things (although I didn't say to know things down!), so like people have said, the maintenance on that place would have been a lot. I know some people have passed comments on the floodlights not being turned on til the last minute... you wouldn't believe how much money that saves the club!!!
  19. Well I do apologise for posting something that I thought may be of interest to some people. Smack my wrist.
  20. Lisa, get him sorted. This is completely unacceptable behaviour! Who does he think he is?!
