  1. Me fella has lived in Bury all his life, went to a few different matches as a kid and decided he would support Latics even though he was up the road from Gigg Lane. Clever boy.
  2. Born Crumpsall then Failsworth then Chadderton - off Firwood park also then Summerseat, Bury now Sunnybank, Bury
  3. I reckon it might be someone who features in games. It says that it happened following Shez bringing Ormerod in for competition. So whoever it is mustn't have been happy at that. Davies or O'Grady me thinks. But I'd put my money on O'Grady. If I had any.
  4. Haha, yes it was! I always thought it was the Pirates of the Carribbean music. But like I say, I didn't know what most of them were!
  5. For a start Franny doesn't play the music, he's stood on the pitch. I never said Franny didn't like the song, I said people have told him they don't like it. He could love it for all I know.
  6. I'm going to be honest now, I didn't vote for any song as I didn't know what a lot of them were. I just typed that into Youtube and I'm glad he doesn't play it! But that's my opinion. You can't please everyone. I know some people have told him they don't agree with that song.
  7. I have to stick up for Franny here. I text him to say I could hear a mic switched on and he went looking for the problem. There is more than 1 mic and they've been having trouble with interference. He only has 1 pair of ears and can't hear how things sound in all stands. I also tell him if it's too loud or too quiet, but I didn't think it was too loud yesterday.
  8. I had been going to football before I met my fella who is a Latics fan. He sat in the main stand, I sit in the Chaddy with my dad and brother. It's still that way. But I always drive so they can have their manly pints. I am a saint. As well as a girl who likes football. We spent 2 weeks in Crete, got back last week. I spent all Saturdays and Sundays in an Irish pub watching the football. I know more about football than most of the men I work with. And Derek, be quiet!
  9. I like his orange boots. With my eyesight it's the only thing that distinguishes him from Taylor! The thing that worries me is that Taylor has to track back to cover him when he comes forward. So I felt that was one of the reasons Taylor was a bit quiter in the second half. But I do agree he looks good.
  10. You made me.... It's proper football. We're proper fans. We say we support Latics, we go to the games. We don't say we support Arsenal and watch them on the tv.
  11. This Corney article has really grated on me. It's suicidal. In effect, you have slagged off the people who might have been thinking about coming to the next home game and have pretty much said it's their fault we're going to have to sell someone. Not a clever move. I work in Blackburn, amongst plastic fans. United, Liverpool, West Ham. Ever since the season started, they are asking me about specific players. Ooo, we heard about Taylor - what's he like? Was it 4-0 on Saturday? Didn't Hughes get the hattrick? Was that the guy who was in prison? People are talking about Latics. And this is in Blackburn. I'm sure the same will be happening in Oldham. People are starting to have a bit of something to boast about after the weekend, rather than keeping their heads down to avoid the micky taking. Any non-regulars are going to come and see Taylor and Hughes and Whitaker and whoever else is being raved about at the time. The prospect of seeing another Hughes hattrick?? They will be there. But so will the local away fans. But this all takes time. And I fear Corney may well have shot himself in the foot with this one.
  12. I saw the name of this post yesterday and thought I wouldn't read it as it would be Derek moaning (which he seems to do a lot of recently. Are you getting old Derek??). But I decided I would read it today and was pleasantly surprised!
  13. The atmpsphere in the Chaddy is pants. As you look at the pitch, I'm behind and to the right of the drummer. Over the past few months there have been a few additions to the people who normally sit in that area. I used to quite like sitting there. I knew everyone around me, knew how to take their comments and enjoyed the banter with them. Football is about opinions and no two peoples are the same, hence the discussions and friendly banter. Now I am surrounded by idiots (I am watching my language). People who think they're 'ard. People who think their opinion is THE opinion and noone else can say anything. You know who you are. And no, you're not 'ard and you're not clever. Which is shown by the fact a girl and her dad argued with the big bully for you to get your seat back. And did you say thanks?! Did you balls. So the next time someone wants to smack you, I think we'll leave them to it you jumped up bleep. There's a bloke who sits on the row in front of me. He spouts rubbish a lot and there isn't a game when you don't hear him shout "foul throw referee". But that's him. It's what he does. He goes with his son, who is now of the age to tell his dad he's talking rubbish! So what do the big 'ard lads do? Start having a go. At an old man with his son. Clever. It's not the same where I sit anymore. (I'm near where the fight kicked off the other week, again, 'ard men but this time starting on kids.) I don't enjoy it. I get bald men leaning back in their seats. Why don't you just sit on my bleeding knee? You don't own the place but you have a go if I tell you to move. Cos you're 'ard and I'm a girl. So it's not just the booing that's creating the negative atmosphere. It's the downright bullyish attitude of the idiots that are congregating together to intimidate other people. And breathe..............
  14. Apparently the guy followed him to the toilet and took things from there.... And this was after he'd sworn at the guys kids. We have some really nice fans don't we?
  15. I just received the following from Cllr Ball: Interesting..... all these people emailing us and making comments....... Diego?
  16. Cllrs Blyth and Shaw have replied and sound quite positive. Just thought I would let you know!
  17. And for those using Hotmail, you can only have a maximum of 50 addresses in there, so I've done up to Roughley for the first batch and the rest for the second.
  18. It most certainly does. Think I'll just copy everything into one big email and get that sent out.
