  1. Yes I agree. I would guess that too, but as you say it is a guess and going by a lot of comments on here it has thrown up more queries rather than clarify them.
  2. Yes you can. You can confirm whether or not they are negotiating a new deal with them. Just informing us what we already know about when their contracts ends does not clarify what is happening for the coming season.
  3. Why is the club so bad with statements? They must know people are anxious. They must know people are waiting for a glimmer of hope. They must know people are waiting for decisions on players before buying season tickets. If MM is the honest straight talking guy he says he is, then give us some proper information.
  4. I know Dave but if he gets nervous about playing and is brave enough to tell us all then a bit of support for him wouldn't be a bad thing. It's all relative what worries you, I worried when my pub team got promoted to the Oldham Sunday premier league
  5. Oh no!!! It's looking like the Foundation will have to make a statement about the £1 per month. That's not the statement we wanted !!!!
  6. I agree with oafc 1955 and League One. I always try and stay positive where possible, but that interview definitely knocked me a bit. I love a rallying cry and it's something I feel I need to get me going again Come on Latics , I know some people will pick at any sort of statement but I feel saying nothing is worse.
  7. The NL could have set a deadline, say 10 matches ago and stated that if Gateshead finish in the play-offs the next team down takes their place. No team should get a bye
  8. I don't it's the imbalance that's bothering people, it's the effort the players are putting in.
  9. Only just logged on after drinking to forget yesterday, so not sure if anyone has mentioned the two points I have issue with in MM's interview. I was praying he wouldn't use the "tired" excuse but he did. It's embarrassing to even mention that when Wealdstone and Halifax had to plough through so many fixtures. Also to accuse the guy interviewing him as using lazy journalism is the the most ironic comment of the lot. He was allowed to waffle on bemoaning these cherubs were knackered. Pick players who hadn't "tired" themselves out on Thursday then. He said one word that summed up the terrible run of results and MM slates him for laziness. MM then just picked out the odd decent draw against Chesterfield for example and lazily skipped the bad draws and defeats against Oxford etc.
  10. There was a point when the Wealdstone defence had the ball and no-one went towards them to intercept, so they just stood still with the ball. Eventually I think it was Gardner who jogged forward to get the game going again. If ever a passage of play summed the season it was that for me.
  11. I feel total silence and then walk out is better. Eerie silence shows the total deflation of the fans. Being completely disappointed in them is better than anger, this only brings anger back at you. Sorry dad mode kicked in
  12. Yes it would have been nice to have an update even to say there is no update Actually I would have liked to know what the options are being thrown around because if it ends up being further away I really needed to try and book an early finish in at work. Well never mind I think you're right about the behind closed doors bit so it won't matter.
  13. Exactly. In my head the season should finish the first Saturday in May, it's now finished mid-April. So squeeze a couple more night matches in early doors. It would help a lot by the end of the season. Let's see next season if the NL learn from the mistakes from this season.
  14. I would think a lot of people have booked a train to Halifax. So are they going to put on buses from Halifax station to wherever it's being played?
  15. That is exactly what has caused the situation we are in. Crazy
  16. As it stands yes, but we don't know if plans are already being made in the background because as I mentioned earlier the club, well actually both clubs, aren't giving us updates. If alternatives are already ruled out they should tell us that if only to stop us speculating and googling clubs close to Halifax I don't recall ever being in a situation like this.
  17. We keep thinking they might switch to somewhere else but who is to say that pitch won't be waterlogged. Can you imagine we all set off to somewhere else and it's called off at the last minute!!!
  18. I agree but when you ground share then surely you have to consider the implications of playing on it, and if the rugby don't then this situation will crop up season after season. If you inspect a pitch and it's bad but more or less playable, but you knew if you played on it it would be unplayable for the rest of the season, would you pass it fit?
  19. A club is not just allowed into a league based on match results. The ground and infrastructure must meet certain criteria. Surely Halifax is failing in this. I know people will say you can't stop the rain but when other clubs get matches on and they are the only ones who don't then they are failing to meet standards that the NL must set.
  20. I agree we don't know the agreement between both clubs but surely when they do negotiate with each other a common sense approach would be the team finishing the season, with a deadline to do so, takes primacy. Again, to me, that is common sense, and they should be working together and helping one another, but I am just naive.
  21. Would they say allowing another team to ruin your pitch (twice) as mitigating? I would say it was stupidity. If both times a football match couldn't take place on it then the rugby shouldn't have been allowed.
  22. I normally try and stay positive regarding the club but I think the communication from them has taken a nose-dive recently. Latics must be liaising with Halifax so it would be helpful to fans to know what ideas are being banded about, whether an option of an alternative venue has been discussed, if and when there is a pitch inspection etc. Basically anything rather than radio silence.
  23. No-one really knew the words of the song apart for the above line and just belted that out at the top of their voices. Happy , innocent days
  24. Yes but I don't think you can say that is good to go. It must have been 50/50 to play even for rugby so I think common sense should come into the considerations for playing the game.
