  1. No-one really knew the words of the song apart for the above line and just belted that out at the top of their voices. Happy , innocent days
  2. Yes but I don't think you can say that is good to go. It must have been 50/50 to play even for rugby so I think common sense should come into the considerations for playing the game.
  3. As this is the start of the rugby season and plenty of time to complete their fixtures and the football season has a deadline to finish why are they allowing this?
  4. I don't think an empty stand contributes to negatively impact on the players. Once they are playing they should not even notice the stands. Also there tends to be 6,000 plus in the other three to make it feel cosy Lots of clubs especially lower league ones have empty stands and Oxford United play towards a car park!!! Wrexham had a pile of rubble for one end as well for most of their last season in NL. Also if it did you could counter balance it with the new Joe Royle Stand that has adequate numbers in there, so get the players to look at that. Not a single member of the playing and coaching staff will know any different regarding changing rooms etc. I agree though about trying to find reasons for why we are so bad at home. I have give up trying though and conclude we are cursed, simple as that.
  5. Haha that's great but what on earth has prompted you to say it?
  6. Just about to set off for the full matchday experience. Going to get drenched walking to tram. Dry off a bit in Manchester. Going to get drenched getting to Altrincham. Dry off a bit in Altrincham. Going to get drenched walking to the ground. Going to get even more drenched watching the match. Please Latics make my attempt to get the flu worthwhile!!!!
  7. Also it is on TV so hopefully the players don't want to show everyone how bad they can be. Can they?
  8. Only two crucial decisions went against us today. The decision to kick off and the decision to come back out for the second half.
  9. It sounds bad, I honestly don't listen to them because as I said it's all waffle and trying to put a positive spin on things. Also if he was brutally honest and slagged the players off people would say that he should keep those thoughts in-house.
  10. 90 mins!! I admire your resolve to stick it out until the end
  11. Have faith brother, let's make that first step together.... 3 points today.
  12. Brabin said it wrong in one of the very few interviews he does. I have checked and it didn't quite make it into the top ten crimes of the century My god, come on, we all know what he was meaning he just said it wrong!!! I don't know why people get so annoyed with these interviews. It's all mainly waffle which you're slated for or brutal honesty.... which you are slated for.
  13. I think the short deadline is so they can get some money in quick and as someone else mentioned gauge the uptake and plan the spending in the future. They have pitched it about right, if a little low in my opinion and they had to put the money up as all costs generally will go up in April. You can't really gripe at the price as a season ticket in the NL, although the product you are getting for it may not make it worth it We have all got to try to stick with it, but if you don't want to that's your choice, no problem from me.
  14. Exactly. After the Chesterfield match all we chatted about was the performance and didn't really mention the scoreline.
  15. Especially if the three games before haven't gone well, it would probably build up to that one
  16. Yes and just to go slight off NL topic, Curzon Ashton are the same, punching well above their weight year in year out. It's all about being run right all the way through the club, expecting players to leave but have the structure to replace them.
  17. I am just back from holiday and all I know about Dagenham is the result and it was awful AGAIN. I am assuming the players were booed off and judging by the 16 pages on the match thread anything and everything to do with Oldham has been slated. All I want to say is that none of it can change the result. The only thing we can do is try to influence the next result on Friday. It's down to a 6 match season. Mentioning certain matches that if we would have won etc. is not changing anything (although I do that as well). We have got to focus , do our bit , support the team on matchdays and let's just see.
  18. I thought you might have picked up on me saying the pub, my attempt at humour, but probably too early (or not funny) I have gone out and watched a local band before actually hearing them just because they were local and then through that grown to like them. Although I do think locality can help when it comes to humour as I find Peter Kay, Jason Manford etc. way funnier than any cockney comic. Stuff they say resonates with locality eg big light , gravy on your chips....
  19. Really Dave? You can't understand supporting something local, whether it is your football club, a boxer, cricket team, pub!!!
  20. And we're back!!! I was feeling quite cheery with everyone telling me about Alan Partridge, but let's snap out of it Oh and I do still have a cassette player!!
  21. I am in my fifties... oh wait does that make it worse??!!!
  22. Haha me saying I didn't watch Alan Partridge is the most controversial thing I have ever said. It takes the heat off Norwood for a bit
  23. Ohh right. I thought Monty meant him. I never really watched him so I wanted to be sure.
