  1. They may do , I haven't really noticed as I have either fallen asleep or nipped to the loo!!! I will pay more attention next match Although whether you get it or not, it is a nice thing to do, go on jsslatic let it warm your heart. Haha
  2. Yes that's true. I never thought about what leagues they were in previous seasons. We have always been national and are spoilt in the fact we have a sizeable hardcore of supporters who will travel anywhere and actually seem to relish the further away ones.
  3. I haven't noticed that we are congratulating them. I am surprised though how few travel at some clubs. I thought at these non-league clubs there would be more stalwart type supporters who went home and away, and would especially travel to a new ex-league club to visit. I know our numbers increase when we play a new club. It has opened up a new game of trying to guess/count how many supporters they bring. They always announce more so some must stay in the bar
  4. Really? You think it is that easy? I wish I could live in your black and white world Many factors come into play before a signing can be done, some you get over the line and I would say a lot fail.
  5. The ones that turned up aren't pathetic, so they do deserve praise, although I was surprised by how few there were. Having said that when you have been an established league club then you tend to have supporters all over the country. So when we get 250plus down south then not all of them have travelled from Oldham, they are bolstered by OASIS. I think this is something small non-league clubs don't tend to have.
  6. On separate note, does anyone else play the "count the away fans" game? We counted 31, 32 and 34 but apparently there were 38. We can never get it right
  7. He probably does but it doesn't necessarily mean he can get them. You can't just magic up sufficiently decent players to fill those slots. Come on you know that.
  8. This is sometimes the problem with these posts as I think you are missing mine as well. I would love attacking football exactly how you describe it but I still don't think we have enough quality players to do that yet, so we have got to become hard to beat first. One of his signings in Conlon I thought would fit straight into that attack minded midfielder, but it hasn't quite worked yet but don't write it off so quickly Again I agree with you it's not working yet, but to say he has had enough time to sort it is the bit I keep challenging. We have got to support him to get it right and your comments don't help with that.
  9. I agree I am a bit disappointed with how some of the signings have played but your post implied you felt he had enough time to have sorted it all out. He hasn't. Some will fail. That happens to every manager
  10. I have been to every home game and a few away. The football is bad at home , I have never denied that . I assume you have seen a lot of football in general over the years and so must know how difficult it is to sort out a terrible mis-managed team. MM is trying to make us hard to beat and it is not working yet at home, no-one can deny that, it is away though so there is progress, but for you to come to the conclusion he has had ample time to sort it is laughable. Why after all these years of struggle are we thinking this manager will change it in a few months? What is the alternative? Another manager? Who? Where are these great managers waiting in the wings to give us fast, dynamic winning football within a week of appointment? We have tried every combination of manager. None have worked. I feel this one will but only when given ample time which at the moment he hasn't had.
  11. I agree it is bad at home. I was replying to the "plenty of time" comment, which if was genuine is why undue and unfair extra pressure is put on managers too soon. I have assumed it was a wind up
  12. You have mentioned in previous posts he has had "plenty of time" and "made 7-8 signings" indicating all these signings should have worked. So I read that as exactly what you said. I just jokingly agreed with you as I assumed you were also joking also. No?
  13. Please tell me you are not serious and you are saying these things just to fuel a debate??!!! A manager has to come in mid-season, get rid or massively improve all the old under performing players and then every player he brings in either by loan or transfer has to immediately be perfect. Ohh yes you are right!!! That happens with every other manager, so why not ours. I see it now that is plenty of time, MM out!!
  14. I am sure previous posters have covered all our frailties and errors of tonight's match but one thing no-one can say is that the team lacked commitment. They battled hard and just fell short of winning a very tight game.
  15. So you think he is consistent? Oh a positive spin here, he was the worst of our midfield.... so if all the midfield played brilliantly, he was the least brilliant!!!
  16. You and Yarddog have made great points, especially about Sheron you have summed him up perfectly. When I watched him at Rochdale, being on the side you can see his positional play and he seemed to play just behind the strikers and he had a great game.
  17. You are both summing up exactly why they are in the fifth division, because they cannot produce this form consistently. What they are doing though is trying their hardest to improve that and they have improved, that is good enough for me and I assume the silent majority.
  18. Absolutely spot on. Even if our decent established players have a poor game they are labelled "shit" and shouldn't pull our shirt on again. It's mind boggling crazy. No player, absolutely no player plays well all the time.
  19. Spot on in the fact that is what has happened in the past. Who is to say it will happen in the future? Give him a break . He has just played very well for us just focus on that. Stop predicting (negatively) the future.
  20. Let's just bask in the warm glow of victory for a little while longer and say nice things. We can start the negativity and personal abuse on Friday in the build up to Saturday. On second thoughts just stay positive and see where it takes you It really does make you feel better.
  21. One thing none of us have picked up on is that for the original fixture Eastleigh didn't put much effort into getting the game on in the hope that dragging us down on a Tuesday night would weaken us. Karma!!
  22. That's the way of the world that it is easier to moan than praise. I really enjoyed the game tonight. When you see the way they put in the effort you know you have a good chance to win a game. Little moments can go against you, but you can take that if overall you show a desire to go forward and win. Even our hoofing seemed to be hoofed up to one of our players for a change
  23. This is all we ask of them, effort and desire. Results come because of it.
  24. Yes that's true but the point I was trying to make is that they have time to work on their weaknesses and should improve but our players are getting worse if anything. MM will have told them what to do, so when for the umpteenth time they don't I just wonder what the player says as an excuse. Are they arguing back to MM saying the tactics are wrong or do they accept their own responsibility?
  25. They must watch the game at some point and MM must ask the players why they do certain things like why they keep slowing the pace down, pass sideways etc. He must be telling them to stop doing it. Under Unsworth they were afraid to make a mistake, but MM has constantly said he keeps telling the players to be brave so why isn't it sinking in?
