Confession to make - 2 of the 4 voting for Stevenage are me and @jorvik_latic. We just wanted to spend time with you ?.

More than likely two more as well. Pig of a journey from Brizzle, but life is full of trials. Swindon makes up for it, though; 45 minutes down the M4.

  2. singe again forgot to post a prediction in the Premier League, leaving him rock bottom with the gap widening :sign0007:. The most points scored was 6, by astottie, disjointed, Ex_pat, jorvik_latic, lookersstandandy, milnrow latics, SAV and stevesidg. disjointed and astottie climb 3 places, but GravityGrave drops 5 into the relegation zone:thumbsdown:. oafcmetty stays top:chubb:.

In the Championship, BP1960 and Lawman failed to post:coffee1:, leaving them taking up the last two relegation places. Benja top scored with 8 points to go top of the division:dance:. Oafc1895 moved up 4 places, whilst BP1960 and aidan_latics went down by the same. Stevie_J stays in the bottom three and AK’s11 drops into the danger area.

There were no posts from dannyboy5555 and leeslover :bigcry: in League 1, whilst Brisbaneblue and Kusunga_Is_God both fell foul of the 14:50 cut off:deal:; the former didn’t post until 15:03 and the latter edited at 14:54. Excellent performance by maximus1267, racking up 13 points and being -10 off the attendance:applause1:. maddog stays top, Macca and Lee Sinnott are up 6 places, but Ryan drops 6 places.

He's carrying a bit of timber but will soon be providing crosses in to the box and shoring up the defence. Legs like tree trunks but a lovely finish, got a tough veneer on him and he's tough as teak.

I think that's nailed it. I've twigged the connections now I've rooted them out.

Forgive my ignorance and to save me having to find my glasses to go back through war and peace, what exactly is the extent of Fane's injury?

    Edit: in terms of severity

Broken fibula (not femur, I'm fairly certain) and dislocated ankle. Out until at least Christmas.

The 6-0 V Hudds was my first ever game and i didnt go back until 1985 :)

I remember Alan Groves ripping their defence to shreds that day. Didn't he score with a screamer from the corner of the box? IIRC, wasn't that the day promotion was confirmed once other results came in? I don't think anyone left the ground before the lap of honour. Unless that was another game, of course. I was living in Hull at the time and working away a lot, so I missed loads of games in the 70s, 80s and early 90s.

    42,000 v Liverpool  FA Cup early 1960's

I was there too. 3rd Round January 1962. I was in the RRE with my mate in the middle of a few thousand Scousers. And they were a fantastic bunch. If Bobby Johnstone's shot that hit the bar and bounced in and out (I'm sure it did) had been given, we'd have had a replay.

Liverpool got promoted to the old first division that season.

  7. Some good attendance predictions in the Premier League. astottie was out by +3, whilst Ex_pat missed by -7. a259 and oafcmetty top scored with 9 points apiece, the latter taking over top spot. JoeP climbed 5 places whilst GravityGrave fell by 5 places. Former champion David Collinge drops into the relegation zone and Hometownclub props everybody up.

In the Championship, yarddog73 got it all wrong, showing Morecambe winning 2-0 at half time, but Latics winning 3-0 at full time. His prediction was null and void, but would have scored points; he falls 7 places as a result. Runningman top scored with 12 points, helped by being exactly 100 out on the attendance and rising 6 places. aidan_latics goes top, daniel and youngen climb 5 places, while BP1960 dropped 6 places.

Lee Sinnott, in League 1, originally predicted a 23-0 win for Latics (some 2nd half, that!), but corrected it in time when it was pointed out. south east latic missed out on maximum attendance points by +1 (the second one to do so this season) and picked up 11 points.. MontyBurns moves up 5 places, dannyboy5555 drops 4 places to the bottom of the table, whilst maddog stays top. oafcprozac falls 4 places having failed to post a prediction.

1)Thanks for that Max, next time i am suffering from insomnia i will ask you to recite a story or two :applause1:

Milligan and Henry had Holden and Adams, Baxter and Byrne unfortunately are stuck with Nepo and Branger, bit of a disadvantage there.

For the record, i have no issue with

2)Bunn,he is merely the monkey to Lemsagam's organ grinder as far as this stand off is concerned,

    1) Unnecessary and does nothing for your argument/discussion/opinion.

    2) None of us know whether FB agrees with the suspension or not, so we can't just assume he's doing as he's told. On the other hand, it's possible, of course, but it's nothing more than speculation

What about the behaviour of Mr Lemsagam ?

    is he whiter than white?

Who knows, takes two to tango.

I'm not suggesting anything of the sort and AL may not be behaving as he should. None of us know, we only speculate. The point I was making about Byrne's suspension is that I doubt he would be suspended this long for a minor offence just to remove his wages that had already been signed, sealed and settled, plus the effect it COULD (not would) have on the rest of the squad.

    Back on topic....

It would be awesome to see Byrne and Baxter playing together in this league, they would rip it to pieces!

If i had invested £3 million in this club, i would want to achieve promotion back to league 1 as quick as possible and by whatever means possible.

It is absolute madness to have such a talented player banished from the squad.

I agree; Byrne and Baxter would tear this division apart. However, I'm pretty convinced that Byrne's misdemeanours are more serious than most of us believe. I've said elsewhere that I can't accept that he would have been given a (presumably) lucrative contract for the next 2 years just to then get him off the wage bill. It would make no sense.

If his misbehaviour is such that he has got what he deserves, which I have no doubt the other players are aware of, bringing him back into the squad would undermine morale. Gerrard was shot out of the door for what appears to be much less of a breach of contract, so what message would it send to reinstate Byrne. From my point of view, we're managing without him (yes, we'd be better with him) so let's forget about him playing for us again and do the best we can with what we've got or with who may be coming in.
