What an absolute load of tosh.

You are a pensioner with too much time on your hands and probably spend every morning reading your Daily Mail.

Forward is the only way to look.

That is nothing more than a straight forward insult aimed at a life long Latics fan who has witnessed, like me and many others, decades of ups, downs, delight and despair. Of course, we all look forward because we all want better times for our club; the club we have loved and supported since we were kids. But we have our memories too, that no one can take away. In 20, 30, 40 years' time when LaticsPete, BP1960 and yours truly will no longer be around, I'm sure you'll  be telling the young whippersnappers in 2048 how much fun you had seeing Latics rise from the obscurity of the 4th division to the promised land again. Or not, as the case may be. In the meantime, be as negative as you want with all things Latics, but slinging insults around to make your point only reflects badly on you, not those you are trying to put down. Think about it next time.

We compare every single thing a player or staff member does in the 21st century to people from 30-60 years ago. The game has moved on, about time our fans moved on as well.

Wrong, purely and simply because not "every single thing" is compared to days gone by and certainly not every comparison is to 30 to 60 years ago. Specifics are compared, I agree. In every walk of life, there will be times when each and every one of us thinks or says, "do you remember when"?

Think about these examples for a moment.

    1. Placide was slated on here in the second half of last season and constantly compared to Ripley. So the comparison only went back a season
    2. midfielders such as Banks and Flynn, who by popular opinion were pretty rubbish, were regularly compared with the likes of Baxter (ok, he's back now), Kelly et al. That comparison went back two, three, four seasons
    3. go back a little further and think about Joe Colbeck (shudders). How many of us said "if only we had another Andy Liddell, David Eyres, Alan Groves". See, I've just covered 40 decades there, because many of us will have remembered how good those players were in comparison to some we have today.

Trust me, our fans have moved on, for no other reason than they are supporting today's team. It's what we do, no matter what has gone before. So when a comparison is made to another player or incident from a previous era, don't knock it just because you weren't around to witness it. It's all part of our, and the team's history. And as time goes by, we will continue to be part of it, as will you as your life continues.

Unfortunately, the entire prediction is null and void. 2-0 at half time and 0-3 at full time doesn't work.

Quote "Nor can players predict a half-time score which does not align with the full time score (e.g. Latics to be 1-0 up at half-time and Latics to lose 1-0). Each full prediction should be a possible outcome of the match. Any predictions submitted which are contrary to this rule will not be counted."

You've still got Glossop scoring three above, Pete.

Cheers Steve. It's the same mistake that caused leeslover to have points he didn't earn. I'll change it asap.

It's all done now. This week's school report says Bristolatic must pay more attention and check his work before submitting it. :dunce:

This didn't involve Zorro (allegedly), did it.

Thankfully, no. The poor boy suffered enough with all that shenanigans. He's never been the the same since and rarely ventures out for fear of being used in such a way again. The perpetrator of that heinous action has still not seen fit to come clean and apologise (although he did quietly tell me at Oxford last season, "I know how to cheat").

I did attempt a post bit it must have gone pear shaped. Don't think I scored anyway.

Interesting to see that maddog is the new Tulsehill, seeking advantage from the boss. I always thought maddog and Tulsehill had a lot in common

I don't know anyone who has anything in common with MrTulsehill. In fact, I'm not sure that anyone would want to have anything in common with him.

    Thanks.

I’m sure the people involved wouldn’t want to be rewarded un-earned points ?

No, he's a fine, upstanding lad, that leeslover.

It's all done and correct now. (At least I bloody hope it is!)

ps rosa, give him a dig to remind him to post on Saturday

  7. stevesidg pushed the time limit boundaries, editing at 19:35 in the Premier League. Top scorer was SAV with 11 points, rising 4 places into 1st place. GravityGrave, lookersstandandy and disjointed also climbed 4 places whilst Hometownclub fell by 5.

The Championship saw GlossopLatic post his prediction too late (at 19:39) but would have only collected 1 point. However, he drops a place to 2nd, with Benja taking top spot. Oafc1895 cut it fine, posting at bang on the deadline at 19:35. Bristolatic top scored with 5 points, which took him 5 places up the table. daniel also moved up 5 places, while JohnnyPimp and Handsy dropped by the same amount.

In League 1, leeslover forgot to post a prediction, and dropped one place. al_bro was top scorer with just 4 points, but it was enough to lift him 4 places. Lee Sinnott fell 3 places. MontyBurns stays anchored in bottom place.

Apologies to GlossopLatic in the Championship and leeslover in League 1. An incorrect symbol in a cell gave them both 3 points, when they posted too late for their prediction to count. I think I had a bad day when I did this one.

  8. A bit later than planned; new laptop, so some setting up had to be done. Anyway, Latics’ first three points of the season saw plenty of points in the Prediction League as well, although some didn’t help themselves as you will see.

In the Premier League, jorvik_latic and milnrow latics were top scorers with 11 points each, both of them moving 6 places up the table :applause1:. GravityGrave was the biggest mover in the opposite direction, falling 8 places down the table. a259 was unluckiest of all, missing out on the attendance by just one:dance:. If he hadn’t have gone, he’d have been spot on:bat:. The top two and the bottom three stay as they were.

The Championship saw AK’s11 edit his prediction too late (at 14:56) :deal: and so lost out on the 8 points he would have scored, dropping 10 places into the relegation zone. daniel posted his prediction too late as well (14:55) and also falls 10 places to the bottom of the division :bigcry:. Lawman made an incomplete prediction, but still scored points for half time score and attendance, climbing three places. Handsy shot up 10 places :chubb:. HarryBosch and LaticsPete were top scorers with 9 points.

maximus1267 top scored in League 1, with 9 points :OASISscarf:, but Kusunga_Is_God (+6) and maddog (-9) collected 5 attendance points each, the latter staying top. Latics and England climbed 8 places, but Macca moved 8 places in the opposite direction, mostly because he didn’t post a prediction . Neither did Brisbaneblue (again) :coffee1:so he fell 5 places. MontyBurns fell into the late edit trap (14:58), losing out on 8 points and falling 4 places :sign0007:.

I saw us beat Southport 11-0.

I was there too. Was going out with a girl from Macclesfield at the time, travelled back by bus, got hit up the arse by another bus coming into Manchester, raced for the No2/24 to Royton, and got to the ground 5 minutes before kick off. Happy days.

    *Notts County

Incredible performance.15 shots on target away from home jesus christ! We've only managed 8 in our league games so far

And Yeovil had 25 shots, 12 of them on target. Daniel from Denmark could be in for a busy night on Tuesday if we don't close them down a bit sharpish.

If it turns out that it's due to Fanes injury and was reckless or deliberate with no apology then I don't want to see him play again for us. That is aside from his alleged Billy Big Timer antics to the rest of the team. No one player is bigger than the others.

He's actually quite a bit smaller than the rest. Sorry. :getmecoat:
