Think it's the 1st pre-season game that we haven't played 2 up front. Would like to have seen what happened with Miller and Benteke up top together..
Probably an experiment to look at alternatives. Doesn't sound like it's worked.

I know we're a bit short on numbers, but are we playing 4-5-1 today?
-
Excellent from Latics Twitter feed.
50' GOAL - Oldham Athletic 0-1 Preston North End. Horgan's cross from the left finds Horgan who taps in at the back post, leaving Iversen with no chance.

Taylor off for Stott and Benteke on for Trialist [Miller?]

Has Doyle appeared for PNE in pre season yet?
Roy just said that Doyle and Pringle have not been training with the first team, apparently.

MEN have named the #12 trialist as Ishmael Miller.
No O'Grady today, then? If we sign Miller, we'll only have him and Benteke. Must be someone else coming in.

John Helm has just said Dummigan is injured. Roy said Edmundson has an infection in his heel, but will be ok for next week.
-
I wonder if Placide is still here. He's not been in the last two squads at all. Or is it the last three?
-
No Dummigan either. Are they all being rested rather than take a chance before next week, maybe? We know Baxter is recovering from an injury, but not heard anything about Edmundson. Dummigan hasn't featured since the first pre-season game, has he? Maybe he's injured as well?

I've seen stronger line ups, but that's what we've got. Is #12 O'Grady or Miller?

Nearest train station is Stroud, ground is about 20 mins in a cab from the station / half hour on a bus.
Remarkably, there's a direct train from Paddington! Who knew? Albeit, only every 2 hours. These look best;
To/from Stroud/Paddington
OUT 10:15 ARR 11:44 JOURNEY 1:29
RTN 19:36 ARR 21:06 JOURNEY 1:30
Alternatively you can change at Swindon.
Who's in?
Me. It's a 45 minute drive from our house.

The thing about his goal against Forest (from the highlights, I grant you) was that he made the run at the right time for O'Grady to play him in. The finish wasn't too shabby either. Bunn has obviously seen a player in there that just might do a job for us, whether it's later in the season when he's had more coaching or simply off the bench to give us something different.

It's a gif. A bloke camouflaging himself behind a tree. Agent Mick. I can see it.

69 years! How old are u?
I'll be 74 in September, but about early 20s in my head.
And it's actually nearly 68 years, not 69.

Can't deny it, I've missed it and it can't come soon enough for me. Latics has been in my blood for coming up to 69 years and you can't shake it off that easily. As for where we'll finish, I have a feeling we might make the play-offs. Just. But it will be a last game scramble. At Northampton. Poetic justice.

Caught 10 mins training today - no Baxter or Dummigan while I was there but Gardner looked ok.
Ex Fulham lad Elstone was there and another new face (midfielder!) so they might play tomorrow.
Nice to see Agent Mick on the ball again. Well done, that man.

Just over a week to go and less than half way to last season's total. Keep them coming lads and lasses...
Surely we can get the extra 26 to equal last season, can't we? A tenner in and The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation benefits in memory of Opinions4U. It also helps the running costs of OWTB, so we all benefit. Come on, boys and girls, it's pay day soon. See if you can winkle out that spare ten quid.

Don't forget the half time 0-0 score that is part of his historical (or is that hysterical) MO.
He might struggle with Doyle as the first score though.
He'll probably go for Davies instead.

From the FGR website, which makes you wonder why we're only getting 700. I make that 1076:
Away fan seating
Away fans are housed in the West Stand, which can be accessed by turning right when you come in the main gate, and entering through gates 9 and 10.
The West Stand has capacity for 100 covered seats, 177 covered standing, and 799 uncovered standing.

Been told this season that the away allocation is 1076 made up of 100 covered seats, 177 covered standing and 799 open standing.
Snap. I win.

So that's it now. Time to get the predicting gloves on. New tactics this year which may well reek of old tactics.
Not a 1-1 draw every bloody week again!
