Cherno Samba

Recommended Posts

He's been a free agent for a while following release by Plymouth but was training with them I think.

I'd gamble with at least a trial or non-contract terms. Has I mentioned a few weeks back, he has the ability and skill that players never lose but is missing the application. Linked to my message this morning on coaching, I'd bring him in under the tutor of Tony P or even bring in David Cross.

We're desperate on the striking front with players out of form, too inexperienced or injured. A freebie who's desperate to get back into football could be ideal and investing in a decent coach isn't wasting money. I've noted comments that money spent on Cross is better used on players but we're now limited to loans so developing our own stock makes more sense.

We're still got a great chance of a Play-Off place so make best with what we've got - focus on the strikers, get dedicated coaching in place for finishing, confidence, positioning etc and we'll reap the benefit.

Surely people must see this as investment?!

Investment in coaching is always a good thing... but cant belive Cherno Samba is being banded about as the solution to our problems... we are all pretty much in agreement that the one thing we need up front is a target man - that hasnt changed... so why we would suddenly bring in another skillful, pacey striker/winger is beyond me... it wont happen... just because we didnt sign anyone up front last week doesnt mean we suddenly have to bring in anyone....

Davies, Smalley & Alles can all do exactly the same job as samba... and are already here... why would we gamble on this guy?

Would be great for musical adaptations - I'll start work on the lyrics now just in case.

'ere we go:

Adapted Desperation Samba lyrics

Full moon in my eyes

I wonder how in the hell I got here

Without a disguise

Should I take this last step

Or turn myself around

Or follow my intuition into that border town

Yo quiero a bailar en Oldham [i want to dance in Oldham]

We do the desperation samba con nos amigos [...with our friends]

Yo quiero a bailar en Oldham

We do the desperation samba con nos amigos

Pretty girls they beckon

From their rooms above

Skeletons are dancing

In the name of love

Don't know where I'm goin'

I don't like where I've been

There may be no exit

But hell I'm going in

Yo quiero a bailar en Oldham

We do the desperation samba con nos amigos

Yo quiero a bailar en Oldham

We do the desperation samba con nos amigos

I hear the people singing that same old haunting tune

I drink because I know it's me against the moon

Yo quiero a bailar en Oldham

We do the desperation samba con nos amigos

Yo quiero a bailar en Oldham

We do the desperation samba con nos amigos

-- Spoken:

"Tss, tss tss"

"Hey, psst amigo!"

Ooh ooh ooh ooh

Ooh ooh ooh ooh

Yo quiero a bailar en Oldham

We do the desperation samba con nos amigos

Yo quiero a bailar en Oldham

We do the desperation samba con nos amigos

In an ideal world, yes - but surely we already work on these things? We have experienced former players in the management team, people who have played at all levels, taken their coaching qualifications and so on. We might get some marginal benefit from a specialist in but I would be disappointed if he could bring a lot to us that we weren't doing anyway.

Oh God, not Championship Manager 2001/02 again.

He was a decent looking kid at 14. He hasn't made the grade and his availability went to every English and Scottish club, all of whom haven't taken him up.

If we are going to target rejected talent, let's do it immediately (Trotman) when there is an opportunity to do something not ten years later on the back of an old fantasy computer games figures.

Now a free agent, worth a go for us or not worth the gamble? He has the talent but maybe the attitude isn't right, sounds like another striker i can think of who's on a free!

christopher samba who plays for blackburn, his real name is cherno.

Don't know about Titanic moment, sounds like a Dabo moment to me! :o
