It was a great night, everyone was in good spirits (apart from the odd tear at stupid o'clock in the morning by the odd person). "more bread, more bread!" Tried getting up for work today. No chance. Especially when the room started spinning. Just glad they didnt sell Jagerbombs in the end. Highlight of the night has to be that comedian. Lawton could of been a bit varied with the questions he asked to players who won awards, the same "so you were on the bench for ages. how did that feel?" for Lewis and Paul Black. Kind of felt sorry for the poor bugger trying to outbid Mike for that picture. Absolutely no chance. Hughesy was swaggering about by the end of the night on the prowl giving out his number to a certain young girl. He did say that he thinks he'll get 20 goals next season, "easy". The sole on my shoe came off, good job they had replacement ones sat there on my plate next to the vegetables. That comedian was lucky to get out alive though, he was VERY close to the knuckle at times. He was made to look a bit stupid though near the end when i pointed out that we were NOT the cable guys as he had been calling us for 20 minutes. Besides his comment to Rocky about borrowing the mic stand so it looks like he's brought his brother, the best comment of the night was when he said to that guy with the large nose......."Give me a shout if that starts running, im closer to it than you are". As for the tears, some people just getting a little upset at the end, too much beer i suspect. And before anyone ask's........No it wasnt Shez Did anyone see TTA there last night? leeslover Posted April 24, 2008 Share Posted April 24, 2008 I had a cracking spot, opposite Chris Taylor and beside Andy Liddell (eat your heart out Gemma Aside from the rubber turkey it was a good do. Observations: Lids plans to go on playing for a long, long time. He plans to just keep dropping down the leagues to whatever level he is able to perform in. He expects to know in the next couple of weeks whether he will be staying next season, it's clearly just going to be a case of whether they can agree terms. Whoever put it about that Hughes and CD don't get on was talking out of his arse. They are as thick as thieves, and Craig looked really surprised when I told him that they were rumoured not to be the best of friends. Chris is a really nice, open lad. Really quiet, and really obviously the sort of lad who would be affected by some of the rubbish that gets shouted at him sometimes. He maintains that the decent crosses he has put in on his left were as much luck as skill, but I'm not convinced, I still think it's about confidence. Lids answer to who has the fittest wife/girlfriend was that he does. He's very much a Yorkshireman. I'm sure he was making a mental note to check out Stefan's other half when I mentioned her though Lids said he would play wherever he was asked, but I got the feeling he thinks he can do more through the middle than out wide. Jacko achieved the impressive feat of making me feel sober by comparison. I heard that TTA were at some event in Israel so couldn't make it. According to Lids, any of the youngsters like Taylor, Eardley, Alessandra, Smalley, would have no problem playing in the Championship, he said it was just a case of whether the club decided to cash in. He said the gap in class wasn't as big as many people think, although it's a huge gap up to the Premiership. Probably more will filter through the haze later, but that's all for now. Stefan does have a girlfriend (sorry carrabanana) , she lives Brum way. He actually lives in Ashton , he rents off Danny Hall , he is actually good mates with Mark Hughes though. I know this because I once give him a lift from Liverpool airport (we were on the same plane).
