jsslatic
Great news if Tayls is fit. Shame about Hughesy but even if there's a shadow of a doubt over him he shouldn't be on the pitch...I reckon MKD and Hartlepool will provide sterner tests and we'll need him fit and raring to go. leeslover
If Hughes starts I will go to my grave in Exeter believing that Shez has been playing sneaky mind games.

oafcprozac
he got the winner last year! this is his time for redemption Umtil Shez's tactical masterstroke of moving Whitaker onto the left Craig was playing well and looking a threat, albeit not very near goal! saddylatic
im going with the rarely wrong on this one. If hughes had a serious injury i.e. a strain or tear we would have been told about it already i think. Chron says 'rated 50-50, given til last minute' Watch this space i say, maybe on the bench for if we are in desperate need and he can have 10mins if not fully fit. Diego_Sideburns
In tonight's rarely wrong Chron: Hopes rise for Hughes return Reporter: Latics latest by MICHAEL YARWOOD Date online: 10/09/2008 LEE HUGHES could make his comeback from injury when Athletic face MK Dons at Boundary Park on Saturday. The striker is recovering well from a groin problem and has not been written out of boss John Sheridan’s plans. Hughes – scorer of a hat-trick in Athletic’s last home league game against Cheltenham – won’t be risked if there is any danger of him suffering a setback. He picked up a minor strain in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie with Morecambe last week, but assistant manager Tommy Wright issued a positive update. Wright said: “Hughesy is coming along well and has improved greatly over the last few days. “He isn’t back in training just yet, but there’s still time before the game on Saturday. At this stage I’d say he has got a chance.” Defender Stefan Stam has reached a similar point in his own recovery from a groin strain picked up against Morecambe. Stam, who has made three appearances in knock-out competitions this term, hopes to be fit within the next week.
