Pre Match Pub - BP

I'm not a regular drinker (these days) but will be meeting a mate from Peterborough next week and the plan is to go for a pint before the match.

 

I live close to the centre of Royton.

 

Can anybody recommend a pub that's child friendly and away fan friendly within a mile of BP?
